Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Release 2.6.14 beta is now available and may be downloaded immediately. For fixes and enhancements, please peruse our beta forum at http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=930. You may also post your comments/questions and issues relating to 2.6.14 to this forum. This release provides the following important features: 1. 99i Series Optional Modules (Help->Purchase Modules) --> Webserver Module: allows you to use your ISY as a mini webserver to serve up your own files, applications, etc. You need this module for the REST interface (see developers forum) 2. i2 Support Please make sure you go back to automatic mode (Link Management->Advanced Options->Automatic). In this mode, all database communications are in i1 mode (except for motion sensor) and all i2 applicable commands use i2. This is the best mode to use. Bugs - Climate settings do not get updated in the GUI (WeatherBug) ... fixed - REST does not support X10 ... fixed - The link database comparison feature causes ISY Link Table dialog to require clicking the stop button when reactivated ... fixed IMPORTANT 1. For those upgrading from release 2.6 --->Please note that releases 2.6.1 and above will use default HTTP/HTTPS ports of 80/443 respectively. As such, before upgrading Disable Internet Access --->You will have to upgrade to release 2.6.5 ( http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewtopic.php?t=1409 ) before upgrading to release 2.6.13 --->If you are upgrading from 2.6.1, please make sure you export all your programs and store them in a safe place 2. If you have used bookmarks, please update them accordingly. If you have problems finding ISY, try http://www.universal-devices.com/99i 3. As always, please take a backup of your ISY Due to massive [plumbing] changes in this release, please do be kind enough to thoroughly test i2 related issues such as not receiving status feedback from i2 devices. INSTRUCTIONS for ISY-26 - Userid = isy - Password = autoupdate -- Step 1 - This step is necessary if and only if you are upgrading from any release except 2.6.11 and above - Download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip do not unzip - Login to Admin Console - Choose Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and choose the file you downloaded in the previous step -- Step 2 - Download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip do not unzip - Login to Admin Console - Choose Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and choose the file you downloaded in the previous step INSTRUCTIONS for ISY 99i Series - Userid = isy - Password = autoupdate - Download the update from http://www.universal-devices.com/update ... nsteon.zip do not unzip - Login to Admin Console - Choose Help->Manually Upgrade My Lighting and choose the file you downloaded in the previous step - Important: After upgrading, please close Admin Console, close all web browser processes, clear your Java cache, and reopen Admin Console. Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Hello all, If you are interested in our REST interface, you will find it here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... 6654#16654 With kind regards, Michel Quote
Brignolo Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Upon updating to 2.6.14 I noticed that my thermostat in the device list had not reported its status. Clicking on the thermostat and doing a "Query" returned a "Request Failed." Trying to change ANY of its features resulted in an instant status bar showing "100%" and locking the system for 1-3 minutes then returning a "Request Failed" notice. "Restore Device" does nothing. My guess is that I'll have to remove then add back my thermostat, but before I do I thought I'd provide this info. Also on the Climate page, I used to have a list of the weather conditions, but not so much with this release. Joe P.S. Yes, I did close all browsers and cleared the Java Cache...twice. Quote
MikeB Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 My Thermostat Adapter seemed a bit wonky at first too, but now it seems fine for some reason. Here's what happened: - performed a query, seemed to complete successfully but took about 15 seconds - which seemed exceptionally long - tried a setpoint down, dialog box came up and indicated an error communicating with my RemoteLinc (???), then sat there for 2-3 minutes on the progress bar - once that completed (without further error), the thermostat adapter now seems to be responding fine to queries and set point changes I rebooted my ISY, and tested again - it still seems good at this point. My Thermostat Adapter is reported as a v.24 on the ISY's Admin Console. Quote

Will probably remove and add the thermostat unless I hear otherwise from Michel. Joe Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Hi Joe, Apologies. Please give me couple of hours; let me see if I can figure out what's causing this issue. Brignolo Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Apologies. Please give me couple of hours; let me see if I can figure out what's causing this issue. Michel: No problem, that's why I didn't remove the thermostat...You may want to take a look at it. Also what is the issue with the weather info on the Climate page? Joe Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Hi Joe, ISY cannot communicate with your thermostat. I can see the traffic going out of the PLM (which is correct) and the thermostat does NOT respond. This said, however, other devices do respond. Would you be kind enough to take the dongle out of your thermostat, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in? The weather information: The station you are using responds intermittently (I am checking it with my own client and comparing it with mine) and with blank data. Perhaps you would like to use the one closest to Lebanon? With kind regards, Michel Apologies. Please give me couple of hours; let me see if I can figure out what's causing this issue. That IS the closest one. I will change to a different station to see if the data comes up. Joe Quote
MikeB Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 When I open the Admin Console, I'm also seeing blank weather data in the STATUS box under the CLIMATE tab. The only thing there is the "WeatherBug RSS" link. HOWEVER, if I open up the HTML version of the ISY's weather page in a new tab, the weather information instantly populates in my Admin Console. So, to duplicate, you should be able to: - open Admin Console, observe blank weather data - go back to your browser's ISY page, right-click "Weather" and choose OPEN IN NEW TAB Once the tab opens with the weather data, the Admin Console should also show weather data. PS - My Thermostat Adapter is still working well. Quote
Steve Sullivan Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Upgraded this morning. ISY didn't reboot properly after the update. Basically it was stuck with the rx light on steady. Unplugged and plugged back in, she came up fine. Things look good. Didn't have issues with my thermostat or climate. Quote

It was working fine before the upgrade as we use it extensively for our wood sotove heat distribution. Re-introducing to the network worked. The Climate page needed attention. If I were to select another station, the Info came up on the Climate page...not as much as before, but info was there. If I THEN re-selcted my original station info appeared, but again, not as much as before. Joe Now it is time to remove and relink all my motion sensors (again) and add the other 4 including the I/O Linc. Busy afternoon... Thank you Michel! Quote
Stowaway Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 The "links compare diagnostic" is a great improvement. One item of note is if I run a Device Links Table Compare and look at the ISY table and then close both windows and then attempt to look at Show ISY Links Table the window opens in the last device. I have to CLICK ON STOP in order to see the window where I can chose the device I want. Just a nitpick....! Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Hello jbredz28, Yes, indeed. Joe, Thanks so very much for the update. I know where the problem is (for the climate) and it's going to be fixed immediately. Rest assured that the issue is ONLY GUI related and your programs should work fine. Mike, Thanks for the pointer which pointed me to the GUI issue. Jim, Thanks so very much for the ISY Link Table issue. It shall be fixed immediately. With kind regards, Michel Quote
G W Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Just so I'm not left out of this, my Thermostat Adapter is still working as it should. I updated to .14 from remote and had no problems. The web module is working and I can now pester the family while I am at work much easier. Very well done Michel and crew. Very well done. Quote
Stowaway Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Thanks Michel for confirming my observation! I am never sure whether it is my own problem or a real "issue"! The weblink works grand with my SmartPhone! Great update. Quote

Steve Sullivan Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Thank you for the update. I have some questions about the device links compare feature. So far I did a compare on three devices. All show some amount of extra records, one shows record mismatch. What is the best way to correct these issues? I tried a restore device on one but had the same results. Thanks Quote
garybixler Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi I loaded version 2.6.14 and all went fine. I noticed that I2 to the EZIO4O still will not work and therefore no access to the timmers. The ISY detected the I2 engine but communications failed using I2 and reverted back to I1. Also the LED Dimmer for the 2486D Keypadlink is still not functioning. In fact if I remove and relink it the LED Brightness option disappears compleatly. The ISY now shows v.00 rather than v.2D as it did before relinking. Was just wondering if these are still outstanding issues or if I need to do something different. Thanks all Gary Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted January 26, 2009 Author Posted January 26, 2009 Hello Gary, Please do be kind to: 1. Go to Link Management->Advanced Options->Automatic (please do not change this) 2. Since ISY uses the firmware version to figure out what to do with the brightness, you will have to link it using Link Management->Start Linking simply because (apparently in your case), your KPL is not reporting its firmware version Unfortunately, we are not going to do anything with EZxx till we have a fully functional and official 2.7 release out. The amount of complexity which EZxx integration adds to test/regression testing is currently too high to even consider. With kind regards, Michel Hi I loaded version 2.6.14 and all went fine. garybixler Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hi Michel Ok, I did what you suggested and the led brightness buton did reappear as an option on the admin console. to_lighter Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Hmmm. Communication reliability seems better, but the logic assessment for some of my programs seems busted. For example: If Control 'Living Room - Button C' is switched On And 'Living Room Flag 1' is False And 'Living Room Flag 2' is True And From Sunset To Sunrise (Next Day) Then ... In this case, Flag 1 is listed as False, Flag 2 as True, it is after sunset (a small program to have the ISY check the time indicates that the ISY thinks that it is between sunset and sunrise). Click Living Room - Button C and nothing happens. The ISY Event Viewer reports: 2009/01/26 18:17:13 : [iNST-SRX ] 02 50 0F.1A.28 00.00.05 CB 11 00 LTONRR (00) The program should evaluate to True, but it does not. Any ideas? Cheers! Quote
