juniorx Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 I am in need of some help, before I go out and buy another isy994. Posts Related to my experience: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/6697-isy-99i-red-light-and-error-message/ http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/14315-isy994i-flashing-red-error-bad-sd-or-other/ ISSUE: "Memory" and "Error" lights blink after ISY-994i/IR-PRO boots. BACKGROUND: Use an ISY-994i/IR-PRO and 2431S Powerlinc modules for my devices (approximately 3 years old). a. After a power outage, I could not longer communicate with my ISY-994 via MobiLinc app or URL via home PC. Noticed that the 2431 green LED was not lit. Unplugged PowerLinc and could communicate with my ISY, although all programs were missing. b. Bought a new PowerLinc module and rebooted system to get "Memory" and "Error" lights blinking. From manual, read that it was a bad micro sd card. c. Bought "Kingston Digital 16 GB Class 4 microSDHC Flash Card" via amazon.com. Plugged in new SDcard and no bad lights (yippie). I could not use the admin console, with same issues as http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/14315-isy994i-flashing-red-error-bad-sd-or-other/ . Formated the sdcard via telnet. (No PowerLinc attached.) d. Still could not access the admin console. I could access my old sdcard from my PC. Copied contents onto new SDcard. Put new SDcard into ISY. Rebooted and could access via admin console. Restored a good copy of my ISY configuration. (Still did not have any programs.) Updated ISY firmware to 4.5.4 via admin console. (No PowerLinc attached.) e. Repowered ISY and logged in via admin console, things looked good. (No PowerLinc attached and no progams.) f. Moved ISY to a new location in the house and repowered with PowerLinc attached. Get "Memory" and "Error" lights blinking. Tried reformatting sdcard on PC, using old sdcard, and resetting ISY to factor settings. Nothing appears to work. QUESTION: - Is my ISY hosed and needs to be replaced? - Do the modules only work for ~3 years? If so, this is a lot of money to shell out ever few years. What are better alternatives? Quote
juniorx Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 After posting this, I see http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19733-cannot-retrieve-programs-could-no-open-config-file-to-read/ . The "Memory" and "Error" lights blinking came back after I attached the new PLM to the ISY. Quote
Techman Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) After posting this, I see http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/19733-cannot-retrieve-programs-could-no-open-config-file-to-read/ . The "Memory" and "Error" lights blinking came back after I attached the new PLM to the ISY. Take a look at the attached file. What's the date code and version of your PLM. Is the green led on the PLM lit? When you boot up the ISY do you get any error messages? Did you also update the UI to 4.5.4? Edited December 3, 2016 by Techman Quote
juniorx Posted December 4, 2016 Author Posted December 4, 2016 You rock. It appears I have three separate issues: 1. PLM failed. (Procured new one and must follow the directions.) 2. Ethernet cable I was using at my PC was bad. (This is why I was getting Memory and Error to blink together.) You got me past this one:) 3. Missing programming files? Thank you. The blink codes are helpful and I did not find that before. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted December 4, 2016 Posted December 4, 2016 Hi juniorx, Error/Mem blinking means network error: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Front_Panel_LEDs.2FLights With kind regards, Michel Quote
