DCH Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Happy to say my Polisy Pro has arrived. So I went to set it up. Here are the issues I came across: Login to Polisy Wouldn't use name per Quick Setup, had to use IP address; same for locating ISY WiFi Network I hide my SSID; no way to manually enter, so no WiFi Timezone Keep changing to Boston (and NY, and Miami), says successful update, then always reverts back to LA; Get confirmation box is changed, but then always see LA Polisy Update Always says have 5 packages ready for update. Update Polisy gives no errors = Update success. Check for updates: show 5 updates...and so on.... Update log shows nothing new.
TexMike Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Just got mine. Login via https://polisy worked Reserved an IP on my routers DHCP table Using wired, haven't tried WiFi yet Also had trouble getting the timezone change to "stick", finally worked Also said 5 packages for update, but didn't seem to install. Reboot and tried again and seems to have applied updates but log is unclear. I'll install some nodeservers later today when I have more time.

I got the Polisy more for future expansion versus immediate need. Plus I wanted to support UDI.

If you're running an up-to-date version of Polyglot on your RPi, you should back up your Polglot installation ("Settings | Polyglot Settings" menu, click on the download button). Save the file somewhere you can find it (it'll be on the machine that you're viewing your Polyglot web page from, like maybe your MacBook Pro or something). Once you get your Polisy up and running, go to the same menu on your Polisy Polyglot page and click the "Select File" button, click on the file on your Mac... It should install on your Polisy and you'll be good to go on your new Polisy. That all seems pretty simple. Here's your link: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide#Backup_and_Restore_Polyglot
TexMike Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Installed ISY-Inventory as a test and it works fine. Then tried Presence-Poly and it wouldn't install. Is it because Bluetooth is not yet implemented on Polisy? Now that I have Polisy I want to get some CAO Tags. @Jimbo it looks like you're referral links just go to a general news page. Do you have an updated referral link I should use?
keepersg Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 Mine came today as well. Quite the struggle to gain access to it. My router assigned it an address right away (which is now changed to static). Couldn't find it on the network at https:\\polisy. Multiple attempts at its address failed indicating it wasn't found or it was refusing connection. Tried turning off the firewall--didn't help. Powered it on and off about 7 times, rebooted it 3 times and used multiple browsers and finally Chrome worked but not without warning me that I was making a fatal error to allow access. It did not find my ISY on its own but did access it after I specified the address. It still is not showing up on the network map..

If you add the Polisy to the routers reserved IP client list prior to booting up Polisy it should eliminate that problem. The MAC address is on the bottom of the unit.
majkman Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Entertaining afternoon with the Polisy Timezone finally stuck when I hit the change button, not the save button at the bottom of the page. I gave up and assigned the address IT wanted as a reserved ip address for it. Wired connection for me at this point. https://polisy did not work, still doesn't, but I have no need for it now that I have assigned an ip address just for giggles I looked at the wifi options, it shows each and every AP that I have that shows the same SSID in the table, some of the SSID's are in the table 8 times (4 AP's with both 2.4 and 5.0 SSIDs. Would be helpful to know which SSID is to which AP, (if it matters, my roaming devices don't seem to care with AP they connect to. Installed the ecobee node, will play with it later. Hard assigned the 994ir Pro in Polisy to logon to it. Themo's show up as devices, nice. Some issues with update, said repeatedly that there were 10 updates, did the update, still showed 10 updates. Left it alone, and later restarted it, seems to have updated all 10. QUESTION- Do the NODE devices count towards the 1024 device limit? QUESTION2- Do I need to renew the ISY portal? OR does the polisy come with 2 years?

I think that simplextech has an easy update file for Polyglot and I will look for it. Not being a geek, this is not obvious for me.

I'm hoping this increases once the isy is ported over especially since insteon is coming out with a plm that can hold 4000 links
Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Hello everyone, Thanks so very much for all the feedback. A few comments and answers: 1. Allowing Text for SSID … sounds good. We'll implement 2. Time zone only changes when you click the Change button (not the Save button). Added to the Wiki 3. You get 2 years free portal subscription (or extension). Please send your Polisy invoice + uuid to sales@Universal-devices.com and request for either 4. Yes, nodes do count towards the max nodes 5. Updates might take a while. So, please be patient With kind regards, Michel
asbril Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 I received my Polisy and followed instructions. I got as far as the login page. When I enter admin/admin, it tells me that I am now logged in, but nothing happens, and after a few seconds it logs me off. I rebooted the Polisy, clicked on Polisy and Home on top, but nothing..........
Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 @asbril, most probably because the browser has cached JavaScript files from your RPi days. Please a) backup your RPi first , b) clear browser cache, c) connect to Polisy and retry. With kind regards, Michel
asbril Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 Michel, I have cleared the cache on my Windows 10 computer in Chrome and Edge, and on my Mac the same in Chrome and Safari, with same outcome. However I noticed that DHCP IP Reservation did not succeed as per attached screenshot from my phone (Google Wifi Router can only be accessed and configured on phone).
Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 @asbril, I am not familiar with the Google WiFi … but, this should not stop you from connecting to Polisy. Has the beeping stopped? With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 @asbril, Then you should be able to get to your Polisy. Do you know the IP address? With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted December 27, 2019 Posted December 27, 2019 @asbril, no port. Just https://xx.xx.xx.44. With kind regards, Michel
