Polisy 2.2.10 Update Failed

HI,

Just getting started with my Polisy Pro.... I'm trying to update from 2.2.8 to 2.2.10 but nothing seems to work.

I have tried via the "system -> update polisy" menu but i always get an "update failed" error.

When I reboot i get the message that a new version is available but again when I try to update.... i get nothing... not even an error... just a screen to log back in... and when i do it still shows V 2.2.8...

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

I don't think that has ever worked. It's a newer feature that was not completely implemented yet. I get the same thing for the last months.

IIRC you already have the almost latest stable release. I have 2.2.9-5. You may have to use PuTTY or equivalent to SSH into your polisy and run the O/S upgrade sequence. You will need more exact details of the commands. I don't want to tell you incorrectly.

The procedure to update via SSH is in the Wiki:

Latest Packages Not Installed

If the above does not work, you will need an ssh utility (such as putty) to connect to Polisy over the network: 1. ssh admin@polisy (you can change polisy to the IP address of your unit) 2. Default password is admin. Once this process is done, please change it 3. Run the following commands:

  • sudo service polyglot stop
  • sudo service udx stop
  • sudo pkg update
  • sudo pkg upgrade
  • sudo service polyglot start
  • sudo service udx start

Thanks Dennis,

I was able to update to Ver 2.2.9-5, my login screen shows an update to Ver 2.2.10 is available but terminal shows that all packages are up to date at 2.2.9-5.

is there a 2.2.10?

Thanks,

Matt

This is a recurring question. It seems that when  beta upgrade is checked, then the 2.2.10 version shows and apparently that version is not ready for deployment. For that reason I have unchecked the beta upgrade and you may want to do the same and stay with 2.2.9 for the time being.

Even with the Beta versions checkbox unchecked it now shows 2.2.10 is available, but attempting to upgrade fails with:

Quote

2020-10-6 14:30:09 [polyglot] info: Upgrade: Frontend requested upgrade. Proceeding.
2020-10-6 14:30:09 [polyglot] error: polisyUpgrade: undefined

sudo pkg update && pkg upgrade

indicates that the system is up to date.  I'm even getting pullRepo: undefined messages when attempting to update individual nodeservers now.

@Michel Kohanim, can you weigh in?

@Brad,

2.2.10 is a beta release and we have stopped it from being released. We are working on v3 (PG3) which should be available shortly. Besides the 2.2.10 upgrade failure, what else is not working?

With kind regards,
Michel

When attempting to update nodeservers I get:

pullRepo: undefined
