USB 90 degree adapter

I purchased the Zooz S2 stick 700 and ConBee 2 Zigbee USB stick for Polisy. I figure that the signal will get a few extra meters being in the upright position and not flat, so I purchased a package of 90 degree USB adapters. I checked them out on my laptop with a regular USB modem and it worked just fine. I probably could have just used USB extension cables to accomplish the same thing, but I decided to go with this method. It fits perfectly in Polisy with the USB cord for the PLM plugged in below it.

I will need one additional USB port as I still have the ConBee 2 Zigbee USB - Gateway to plug in, which means I will need to find my USB to serial dB 9 adapter cable for the PLM. Would a powered USB HUB work with Polisy? That may be another option.

A nice enhancement for Polisy2 would be a total of 4 USB connections, with the 2 additional connections spaced away from the existing 2 for wider dongles.

Nice! and thanks!

Have you discovered which is the correct model required? Upward connector, or Downward connector, or is there no way to tell? The pictures are not giving any of the definition away AFAICT.

I think I may go with a short USB extension cord so I can pin the antenna/dongle on a wall or coathanger fabricated "display stand" away for a dense surface wall.

ConBee 2 Zigbee USB

I'm not using conbee 2 with Polisy (there's currently no nodeserver), it's plugged into a Pi running Home Assistant, however I can tell you that getting it away from everything else via a 3ft USB extension cord improved its signal to the other side of the house by double.  The LQI at the blinds was less than 100 when it was plugged into the Pi directly, reguardless of orientation.  Moving it away and higher resulted in an LQI over 200.... (the scale is 0-255).

There may be the unshielded RPi case vs the full metal jacket polisy factor there too. The option of getting my Zwave into the more middle of the house appeals to me, though.

This is compared to the PLM which is best close to the electrical panel for best powerline centering. Gives a whole new meaning to finding a "sweet spot".

The USB PLM comes to mind also. Now the polisy wouldn't have to be so close to the PLM either, on a decent USB extension.

Hello Michel; do those USB hubs, i.e. 1-in-to-multiple-out, work with Polisy? If so, that would mean one would not be limited to connecting only up to (2) USB devices.

There are two additional USB2 ports on the Polisy internally -- perhaps an upgrade option for UDI would be to offer the cable harness and a modified case to expose them.

However, as long as none of your USB devices require high-bandwidth, USB hubs worked fine when I tested them early on.  Make sure you stick with USB-2 hubs, and unless your devices are ALL very low-power, make sure the hub is powered.

I use a USB 3.0 extension cable (to get the radio devices outside of my 19" rack enclosure) - and a powered 3.0 hub at the end to plug the zwave device in. I'm thinking about moving from the USB PLM to the wireless USB PLM (2448A7) as well - to reduce the effect of power disturbances on the ability to damage the PLM (I managed to get one before they disappeared from stock everywhere).

I don't own one so I can't say for sure, but someone in another thread recently pointed out that the 2448A7 has smaller memory and as I recall a limit ~500 links... Can't seem to find the post found it:

@MWareman I had exactly the same thought.  So I'm currently running Zooz and Insteon dongles on my Polisy and everything is working perfectly.
