I don't know whether it is the same for others, but  based on what people post in this forum I have an image of what you all look like. For instance I see @larryllix as a calm man with glasses and smoking pipe; @lilyoyo1  a school teacher with a drawing board and @Teken as a news opinionator . I can not wait for us to get all together in LA for a UD Polisy PG3 event and see who you really are ?.

The ssid and password are there, thanks.

I did a reboot but wifi but Polisy won't connect.  Although it will eventually over several hours.

You may want to try to assign a Static IP address. Eventually when the Polisy connects to the WiFi, while it is connected, go into UniFi and give it a Static IP address. After that, even if it gets changed back to DHCP it will still use the UniFi Static assigned IP address.

Not saying this is your problem, but UNIFI has a history of DHCP issues/slow to hand out.

I have not noticed on my setup but, I rarely reboot Polisy and then check to see status.

I may try that.

As mentioned, after selecting a random Mabel SSID it finally does acquire an IP but very slowly.

The launcher doesn't respond properly as there's no drop down to run the ISY console.

Sorry to pile on but I used to see the option to connect to a WiFi SSID. Since installing a new mSata drive (Thanks Michel) I no longer see it.

Was there also not a scan button somewhere - not here now??

I believe this has been sorted out as to *Why its not there*. Back in the day I recall the WiFi showed up as WLAN and not just IGB0 ~ IGB2 etc. I toggled through the list and poof the system began updating itself.

Now, the system presents the WiFi boxes I recall from the past.

Like others there appears to be an issue with how the system connects to the network. Also I don't recall if the unit support dual band 2.4 / 5.0 - Yes / No?

As I see my 5.0 network on the list but can't connect to it either??

@mmb

Did you manually add  Polisy to ISY Launcher?

With kind regards,
Michel

Hi Michel, I ended up moving the Polisy out of the server closet and into a new temporary space and the wifi associated properly and very quickly.  This is the same server closet that was giving the ISY994 X10 grief.

Anyway it is auto-populating the launcher properly.

I still see multiple SSIDs but that a minor inconvenience.

Interesting, as noted I see six SSIDs with the same name (2.4/5) for my three access points.

My Unifi system manages connectivity steering but with Polisy I had to select a random SSID from the list.  Currently Polisy is associated with 2.4 and it's operating properly.

I see the same and was finally able to get the controller to lock on and connect to the isolated network. Sometimes network appliances don't behave correctly when tethered all the while trying to make a wireless connection.

Once I thought the wireless connection was made I rebooted the system and disconnected the hardline - no joy. I must have tried easily a dozen times and just randomly it stuck??? Regardless, please advise me if you see any DNS entries in the three fields as mine is still blank??

That was exactly my experience and the DNS fields were blank. I'm wondering if the Ethernet disconnect screws Polisy up?

According to the promo info: Native support for 3G/4G modems gives you the ability to go off the grid. Literally! And, if you are one of those maximum-connectivity types, get the Polisy PRO model which comes standard with Dual Band WiFi and Bluetooth (4.0).

Anyway, my last try I did this: sudo shutdown -h now, unplug power and Ethernet, then power up.

I see this now.

Thanks for that screen capture of yours. I'm not sure why the DNS & GW are not populated but are when hardwired. It doesn't seem to impact the controller at all as I see data being retrieved and sent to the various cloud portal services?!?

I don't know . . . ?

Did you try the power down unplug ethernet reboot?

Yes, still no joy but as stated doesn't seem to impact the controller in any way.

Is the dhcp client running?

service dhclient status wlan0

I suppose if you can't get into Polisy to check that would be a problem.

Yes, the system indicates dhcp client is running as pid 816.

That's good.

I just noticed my gateway isn't displayed in the Polisy console, so maybe there's some small display issues to iron out.

It is set though...

$ netstat -rn
Routing tables

Internet:
Destination        Gateway            Flags     Netif Expire
default            192.168.0.1       UGS       wlan0
127.0.0.1              link#4            UH             lo0
192.168.0.0/24   link#7             U            wlan0
192.168.0.109     link#7             UHS          lo0

And DNS is fine.

$ grep "nameserver" /etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 1.1.1.1
nameserver 9.9.9.9
nameserver 8.8.8.8
