macjeff Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Everything screwed up. Its giving me platform errors and its auto disconnecting (all wired no wireless) I am going to go back to 994i for now and use a NEW PLM next time. But I cant find any way to reset ISY on Polisy
Geddy Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 @macjeff you might be best served by opening a support ticket to get things squared away. I wouldn’t use a new PLM for the change. As you said….you got it as a spare. With them in low supply I’d keep it as a spare and use the one you have working well from the 994 and use it with the Polisy. 1
macjeff Posted February 20, 2022 Author Posted February 20, 2022 Nothing is working. I think I need to reset the entire thing. Tried to go back to old ISY and its all messed up too because of changes made today. this is a mess. I have a backup before I started so I may have to go back to old ISY, restore the backup, and then restore PLM. I would like to WIPE the polisy ISY (not the rest of it) and then start over again with the backup I had. There has to be a reset or maybe SSH command to start over. I did make a backup of ISY on polisy when it was working well but when I restore that none of my scenes work. This is a pain. I wish I had just stuck with OLD ISY. Yes this is a lot faster but something went wrong. In fact at the beginning i had a zwave dongle with no devices but it showed up. Now it says its not available even though its plugged in.
Geddy Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Like I said, start a ticket with support. Don’t go randomly doing stuff at this point. They will have a harder time fixing it and you might have to factory reset everything to start over, if it’s so messed up just leave it alone until you can get support. probably only thing I would suggest Is to restore modem on the ISY994 and it should recover. But I’d stop messing with the Polisy right away.

Can't offer a suggest about your isses with IoP without more information. As for Zwave, make sure Zwave is enabled on the configuration page, then save and reboot. If that doesn't work try power cying your Polisy.
Techman Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 To factory reset: Insert the end of a paperclip into the little hole in the right front of the Polisy: Factory Reset Press and hold the button till all LEDs start blinking then release. This action resets the credentials, removes all configurations from Polyglot/Polisy, and resets networking.

The dongle disappeared from it and I tried everything so I did the power cycle. Then things did not work right with insteon after that and the dongle still cant be seen

I already knew that but was hoping there was a way to delete and reinstall ISY on Polisy

You need to describe exacy what is happening if you want help. Another suggestion for Zwave is to turn it off, save, remove done and reboot. After it starts up, reconnect dongle, enable Zwave, save and reboot. So, it takes a few minutes after reboot for Zwave to show available.

Scenes dont work (most devices do). I cant even restore the PLM because it keeps rebooting. i have had polisy since it came out a couple years ago (or whenever) and it never rebooted until today. I setup a program on startup that runs and sends email on restart. I am in the middle of using admin console and it says restarted. I am going back to old ISY but now the PLM is so out of date so I have to restore it Then I will reset the Polisy and start over.

The formatting is not good but might give you an idea. Sounds like you might need to do the restore over.
tazman Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 @macjeffto start over with isy you want to sudo pkg remove isy then sudo pkg install isy then sudo service isy restart the only thing is for me every time I did it the portal would disappear but when I restored from a backup it would come back. Good luck! Tom
DennisC Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 @macjeff, One thing about Insteon before you perform a reset, check the PLM Links. Go to Tools - Diagnostics - Show PLM Links Table. Make sure you have links shown. If not, check Tools - Diagnostics - PLM Info/Status and see if PLM is connected. If not, try a Restore Modem (PLM).

Good luck! Tom So how does one factory reset IoP without clobbering or losing anything else, e.g. portal, other Polisy config, existing nodeservers, etc.? I want a fresh IoP that can be found by launcher, portal, etc. without having to restore backup. Just like it was when it was first installed and before I restored a i994 backup to it. I want to do a number of "dry runs", including testing things without doing a restore first, before I do the real thing.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 8, 2022 Posted March 8, 2022 @johnnyt, sudo pkg delete isy sudo pkg install isy With kind regards, Michel 1
