A few months ago I started getting random flickers on some of my lights. Today I opened my admin console and all of my programs were gone. Is my ISY failing? What else could be the problem. Help!!

Whats your firmware AND UI? Have you recently upgraded your firmware. The isy has nothing to do with lights flickering. That could be your bulbs, switches, bad wiring, or outside wiring.

I don't think it is the wiring or bulbs (incandescent) because the problem goes away when I put in a traditional toggle switch. Also, I have tried swapping Insteon switches and the trouble remains.

@PapaBear I agree with @apostolakisl ISY 994's don't fail, its the SD card that will wear out over time. Replace it and run a restore from your last known good backup. That should clear up your issues.

It might also be a bad power supply. If the PSU is starting to deliver low or fluctuating voltage it could corrupt the ISY config, but given your symptoms, I'd start with the SD card.

It might seem like an odd question, but it impacted my house within the last few years...

Do you have above ground or underground power coming to the house?

The reason I ask:  About 2 years ago some lights were flickering randomly. A day or two later half our house lost power. It was almost a whole side of the breaker box. My utility company showed up, without me calling, saying half the supply to my house had failed. They connected a contraption to the meter until they could send a crew out to splice the buried lines. Ends up after about 20 years two little nicks in the supply lines shorted out causing the loss of power to almost half the house. (I don't know all the technical stuff, but that's the basics of my situation.)

As @lilyoyo1 suggests it's unlikely that an ISY994 will cause lights to flicker. It could be that some of the Insteon switches are going bad and causing power fluctuations since it goes away when you replace with standard switches. But you say it remains when replacing with other Insteon switches makes me question the strength of the power through the "smart" switches. If they're having any power drop the additional usage of the Insteon switch could cause issues down line.

I would suggest opening the event viewer, set to level 3 and see if there is any Insteon traffic when you see the flicker happening. It could be that there's suddenly a lot of Insteon traffic and it's impacting power just enough to be noticeable. More common with LED bulbs than Incandescent (from memory of other posts).

Only other step of troubleshooting I would suggest is take an Insteon switch that appears to have a flickering light on it and install it on a different circuit. Does the light that it power then flicker?
