apostolakisl
Posted here because IoX launcher thread is locked. I have been using IoX launcher since it came out on one particular PC. Yesterday, I could no longer get it to work on that PC. The java applet opens, finds ISY, I click on ISY, and I get nothing, no drop down menu. I ran windows update (and windows had an update to install), ran the java update (and java installed an update), deleted everything from Java including the applet, downloaded and installed fresh applet from forum, and still, same thing. Restarted ISY also. Also tried loading the portal access to the launcher but same problem if I click on that, no drop down menu to click on. I am able to open the admin console from a different computer using IoX launcher. I changed nothing on this computer, it worked 2 days ago and yesterday it didn't, nothing changed, not even a computer reboot (until I started trying to fix the situation). The computer is behaving perfectly. Ideas? Edited April 20, 2023 by apostolakisl Link to comment
DennisC
I know you said ISY, but just to confirm, you are on an ISY994? Iif so, there were several issues over the weekend that required UD intervention, see the following: maybe this one too Link to comment
apostolakisl
Michel says it probably has something to do with a browser cache. I don't why my browser would be involved, I cleared the cache over and over for Java and rebooted computer and still same thing. I didn't try clearing browser cahce, not sure which one I would clear. Finally I just loaded the admin.jnlp off of the ISY itself and that works fine. Since I am only accessing this one ISY from that computer it works fine. Link to comment
MrBill
I've never figured out the differences, but I find that occasionally the Launcher needs to be reinstalled, Including re-downloading a fresh start.jnlp The procedure I normally use is: Verify the java installation is current using the "Update Now" button on the "Update" tab of the java control panel. switching back to the "General Tab", pressing "settings" button, then "delete files", checking "Installed Applications and Applets" before OK Then I get rid of any and all files named admin.jnlp and start.jnlp, usually these days there's only one, but formerly I'd have lots of old copies hanging around because I never deleted them. Then i download the fresh copy of start.jnlp https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp After installing it, I add both -Xms1024m -Xmx1024m per these instructions (note that includes a second parameter which at least for me works better than the single for me, there's a post somewhere on this topic) 2 Link to comment
