joepoway Posted October 4 Posted October 4 (edited) I recently upgraded to 5.8.4 from 5.7.0 when my system could not "read the engine" of a new 2842-222 motion detector thinking it may help with the issue. After using my Admin Council to force the upgrade I have had constant online to offline drops and reconnects about every 60 seconds. I also loose my Admin Console connection at the same frequency and have to relog in every time. I have unplugged power to my Eisy for 60 seconds and rebooted several times but no difference. I have also added my eisy to the DHCP reserve table. I use a PLM for my X10 devices but everything has worked flawlessly for probably 2 years since I upgraded to the Eisy. I cleared and updated my Java to the 5.8.4 console and everything matches. I attached an error if that would help. Please Help Joe ISY Error Log.v5.8.4__Fri 2024.10.04 01.57.07 PM.zip Edited October 5 by joepoway Quote
Geddy Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Looks like somebody (or something) is trying to log in from various locations (mostly seem to be fe80::1855:efad:4901:a5d9). Is that a location associated with you or any mobile devices trying to access the eisy? Is your Portal license current? You can check at my.isy.io. Only reason is there's a billing comment on 10/3. Just checking. Probably best to open a support ticket to get help directly from UD. Looks like it's been happening since early on 10/3. Please be sure to post back the results of the support ticket and the steps they used to troubleshoot and fix this issue to help others should they run into this situation. https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets Quote
joepoway Posted October 4 Author Posted October 4 It started right after the update to 5.8.4 yesterday. Yes I log in from my PC and my iPhone using the UD app but as it keeps dropping that's why you see all the log on attempts most likely. I will check my Portal license but I'm pretty sure is current. larryllix Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Have you installed the IP address for your Eisy in you router's DHCP reservation table? This appears similar to what happens when two devices try to occupy the same IP address. Usually a power cycle of the router fixes that temporarily. Quote
joepoway Posted October 5 Author Posted October 5 Thanks for the reply. I have cycled power on the router and eisy several times with no change. I also added the IP and MAC address to my routers DHCP reserve table and rebooted everything still no change. It still drops in and back on about every 1 to 2 minutes. It makes using my IoX interface almost impossible because every time it happens I have to re-log in and obviously when it drops for that short period no voice commands or mobile commands works as there's no connection. Guy Lavoie Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Given that you upgraded on Oct 3rd, I'm just wondering if you're getting the same problem I'm having, after an update notification appeared and I installed it, at around noon on Oct 3rd. Run this command: https://eisy.local:8443/WEB/sysconfig.txt And scroll down to the isy version. Are you seeing 5.8.4 or 5.8.4_1 ? I had it go from 5.8.4 to 5.8.4_1 and have been having several problems since. 1 Quote

Techman Posted October 5 Posted October 5 There's an issue with 5.8.4_1. It's best to open a support ticket Quote

Additionally when I try to restore a previous program version it takes it but seemingly too quick and then says it's rebooting but it never reverts back to the previous file it just stays where it is on 5.8.4 I have also tried re-upgrading to see if a file may have been corrupted but no difference. roblombardo Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) I'm having the same issue on Polisy. I was going to try this solution, but Polisy has no red power button. Edited October 7 by roblombardo Quote

Yes my Eisy has one right on the front. It's interesting that unplugging it didn't work but using the power button and powering it down then back on did. Are you sure there's no power button on your unit? Quote

There is only a "multifunction button" accessible through a tiny hole with a toothpick or paperclip. It doesn't seem to have exactly the same functionality as the Eisy. I did submit a ticket and was advised to reboot again. I had already done this twice at least and physically removed power from the PLM and the Polisy. It's conceivable an update was pushed in the background, I'll give it some time and see if this resolves the issue. Quote
Techman Posted October 7 Posted October 7 To upate the Polisy firmware, press the multifunction button once. See below: Multi Function Button There's a little multi function button behind the very small hole on the front of the unit. This button has multiple purposes outlined below. Every click on the button will cause the unit to beep. If the button does not behave as described below, please update Polisy. Update and Upgrade All the Packages Click the button once. Please consult support before updating this route. See link below for suggested update/upgrade process. Quote

If you did that on Saturday, before the rollback was issued sometime late Saturday night, then that would not have helped as it would have after the fix was made available. Quote

That's probably how it went down, I left out of town on Friday evening and just got back to it today. Quote

I am trying to upgrade a friends Polisy and it wont go back online. It is showing on our wifi as connected, but UDM and AC wont connect. have unplugged it a few times, have pressed the button twice quickly a few times.. nothing. any ideas? Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted October 8 Posted October 8 What if you add it manually in the IoX finder? Like this: https://polisy:8443/desc If that doesn't work, enter the IP address you know it obtained (ex) https://192.168.0.100:8443/desc Quote
dbwarner5 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Nope.. tried those. nothing. Also UDM is also not connecting and the portal shows it as offline. Kinda in a BRICK situation here. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Looks like you'll need to get direct support from UDI. Quote

Yes, but I was able to access AC locally. After a post rollback reboot, I appear to be good. It's only been 24 hours, but so far so good. Try one click on the front button for firmware upgrade (downgrade at this point). Perhaps the Polisy will roll back to 5.8.4?. Quote
