CPrince Posted October 10 Posted October 10 I just did the 5.8.4 update. Everything is Okay or so I think. Z-wave is working fine. One of the steps to do the upgrade is to do a Z-Wave backup. I can't figure out how. Am I looking in the wrong spot? No backup option here. From system tab I see this. Also if I click on version it is well.. Nothing to see here. Quote
Techman Posted October 10 Posted October 10 What zwave board (300 or 500) do you have in your ISY994, and is that the one you want to back up? Is Zwave currently functional in your ISY? Your ISY Zwave version should display, try removing power from the ISY for a minute then power it up. Quote
CPrince Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 @techman I am at Z-Wave level 700 on Polisy. Z-Wave is working fine. I just wanted to back it up because instructions said I should back it up. Quote
Techman Posted October 11 Posted October 11 @CPrince Are you using the UD Zmatter board, or a 3rd party Zwave controller (which may not be fully supported)? Are both your Polisy firmware and UI on 5.8.4 Quote
CPrince Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 @Techman I am using a USB Dongle. Zooz S2 stick 700. It is not a board. I have 2 of these. I have 2 Polisy. Both came configured the same way. Only 1 Polisy is online. My firmware and UI are at the same level. So I am thinking you are thinking; I need a Zmatter board? Quote

I don’t think IoX has a backup ability on a 3rd party Z-wave controller. That’s why you don’t find it in the menu. Quote
Techman Posted October 11 Posted October 11 @Geddy is correct. You'll need the internal zmatter board for complete compatibility. The Zmatter board is Zwave certified and it also supports Zigbee and Matter. Quote
CPrince Posted October 11 Author Posted October 11 @Techman @Geddy Thanks guys. Another project! 1 Quote
xlurkr Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Hmm. I don't have this Z-Wave backup option in my menus either. And I have an internal ZMatter board in my Polisy. -Tom Quote

Did I mis-understand? https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/34826-zwave-700-series-tips-and-tricks/ Quote

It might depend on if you started out with the Zmatter board, vs if you upgraded from the Zooz stick to Zmatter. Quote

Did I mis-understand? https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/34826-zwave-700-series-tips-and-tricks/ My eisy is running 5.8.4 with the 700 series Zooz stick just fine. I do remember seeing a post saying that if you went from the Zooz stick to the Zmatter board and then try to put the Zooz stick back in, it won't work unless you run a command in unix to undo the upgrade. Look at the highlighted solution here: Edited October 11 by Guy Lavoie Quote
IndyMike Posted October 12 Posted October 12 @Guy Lavoie, thanks for the clarification. Looks like I added 2 + 2 and came up with 22. One question regarding your eisy/Zstick configuration - does it support S2 security? The link that I referenced above (@lilyoyo1) indicated that S2 security was only supported for the Zmatter board. Wasn't sure if that had changed. Quote
