Oh it would be so wonderful if the new version ditches the Java console.

Please let ISY have a snappy high quality browser based console!

I casually watch the forums and indeed the Java bit seems to be a never ending source of pain for some.

Time to move on.

Browsers these days are updated every week or so and have so much power now, it would be nice to rid ourselves of another compiler/interpreter base in our systems.

After using TinkerCad, browser based 3D CAD design, for a few months, it is hard to believe all that can be done inside a browser now, and with such little delay anywhere.   True cloud power!  Let e-ISY be (y)our cloud server, right on your own LAN!

Several people including friends have asked for more information regarding Unifi Protect Alarms Manager webhook triggers.  I based the following on my BlueIris NVR trigger implementation.

The webhook is used to set an eisy State variable to 1 when a person is detected by my Unifi doorbell. An eisy Program watches the variable and when it changes to 1 it sets my front lights to On and Waits for 10 minutes followed by an Off. The variable is reset to 0.

The webhook is pretty simple to configure.

The only place I got hung up was on the eisy username password.  There was a post on Unifi forums that shows the usual @username:password in the url doesn't work.  I tested and found it indeed didn't work

Someone in the Unifi forums figured out the username:password has to be included as a separate Base64 encoded Authorization header string.  (WHY!)

I used an online Base64 encoder to do mine using the full eisy username:password string of characters and a space after Basic.

This is my setup for the Unifi Doorbell but it should work the same for any of the Protect cameras.

There may be a better way to set this up, I'm all ears.

Again, I regularly access ISY from 3 different computers and all 3 experience the same problems, so it isn't my PC.

Maybe you need a Mac! 🤭 I have two different Macs, which both work fine with the Java app—don't misunderstand, I agree that it's awkward and unattractive at best, but it does pretty much work for me (and I'm not much of a wirehead).

Yes it seems like since I switched to MAC, my Java interface has worked a bit better. I am so used to the interface that so far, I have had little interest in the HTML interface.

I am still wondering how OS 14.1 will be installed on my EISY and when it will be available.

I had my system crash on my EISY a couple of weeks ago. Support sent me a link to create a new image on 14.1. I've been running it for a couple of weeks. Other than when I hook up a monitor to my EISY and it shows 14.1 I wouldn't know the difference.
