RDLSAT Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Alexa can't function because the ISY Portal is down. So UD Mobile is also not working. Fortunately this doesn't affect local control. Hopefully UD will get the server back online soon and offer some explanation as to why their systems went offline. Quote
Deane Johnson Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Still down in Omaha. Hopefully will hear something soon from UDI. Quote
dantoronto Posted January 1 Posted January 1 With the portal down, there does not seem to be a way to notify UD or submit a ticket. How do we know that they are aware of the problem or working on its solution?? Quote

cwhogan Posted January 1 Posted January 1 It’s concerning there doesn’t appear to be an announcement acknowledging the outage. Quote
ESKO Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I am unable to login with the UD mobile app. Since my wife also has the same app on her phone I tried using her phone but received the same error. Next I tried to login to the UD portal from my laptop but was also unable to login. Just wondering if there is an issue with the UD portal service ? Quote
kobayashi_maru Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Seems to be up and running now, at least here in Michigan. Edited January 1 by kobayashi_maru 1 Quote

Deane Johnson Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I have my Portal back, but when I try to have it connect to Alexa, it messages me the ISY is not on line. Everything else about eisy seems to work normally. (Programs, Administrative Console, etc.) Quote
Solution bmercier Posted January 1 Solution Posted January 1 Problem has been resolved. It may take a few minutes for all units to reconnect to portal. 2 4 Quote

I can say this having retired from a career in IT: It always picks a whopper of a time to fall down and break. Happy New Year, Benoit and UDI team! 1 Quote

Happy New Year, Benoit and UDI team! I sent them the same message. It always seems like these things pick the worst time to go down. It should be up now though!!! Happy New Year Everyone!!! 2 Quote
bmercier Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Portal was down for a few hours. Please try again, it should be working now. Quote
blakevh Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Working for me now too. Must have been a Y2025 problem . I place my bet that something expired. 1 Quote

Funny you mention that. I first noticed around 1:30ET when wanting to shut off downstairs lights after the guests left. 8 minutes ago, macjeff said: You made me think back to Y2k. What Y2K did was provide an incredible revenue stream for consulting. Ironically it was mostly IBM's fault for creating the system clock that they did in in the original PC... just 2 more bytes of rom and it wouldn't have happened. Edited January 1 by paulbates Quote

Wasn't 2025 one of the dividing lines to determine if the year was 2000-2025 or 1926-1999 depending on the two digit year, above or below the value '25' ? 36 minutes ago, bmercier said: Problem has been resolved. andrew77 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 I had to relink but everything seems to be back. Thanks to whoever fixed it. and don’t scare us like that again 1 Quote
burke Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Thanks to the team for getting things back a up & running (on a holiday, no less)! It was interesting to see how much depends on the ISY portal. It’s like the opposite of a power failure… the instant the portal goes down, people across the country can’t turn off their lights. I actually had to touch a wall switch. It was suddenly like 2005! Hopefully 2025 will be smooth sailing from here on out! Starting 2025 with gratitude for how Insteon and the UD team have made life so convenient for us. Happy New Year! If you setup a local connection in UD Mobile or use the admin console (also local connection) it works fine. All programs also run. Alexa would be down for the ISY skill so it would require a switch or old fashion virtual switch. Quote
edwaud Posted January 1 Posted January 1 (edited) Things are working once again. It would be nice to know what caused the outage. I appreciate the team getting things corrected on a New Years day. Edited January 1 by edwaud 2 Quote
