System Time

Featured Replies

I’m 7 time zones away from my eisy.  eisyUI shows local time, but if there’s a way to show eisy system time, I can’t find it.  How can I determine system time?

What does it say on the display on the Configuration tab under the System option. This displays the GMT offset of your system and a time that may be the system time (My eisy is in my local time zone so I am guessing about this).

Well, that's the point! There is no Configuration tab under the System option; that was in the Java interface, but I cannot use that any more (it comes up blank). AFAICT, there is no analog to the Configuration tab, and thus there is no time in the eisy.ui interface.

Perhaps that's coming in a near release? I'm using the latest beta eisy-ui (1.4.2), and there is a Configuration Option under the System Settings that allows specification of location and display of time.

I'm in the eastern time zone and the times in the log file are two hours earlier. Same thing with other time zones?

I tried changing "1.3.4" to "1.4.2" and I see the Configuration tab with the other System Options and Legacy Options, but it did NOT display those time and map graphics. That's what I hoped to see…?

With the Java interface, my time zone, system time, and log time were always the same, and correct.

Same here.

Likely using the remote access, this must be re-opened to see new version. Tip: the version is in the URL, so if incorrect new features may not be displayed.

Thanks, Javi. I'm really hesitant to change anything from over 8,000 km away! Updates will have to wait until I get back in six weeks. 😟 Patience, they say, is a virtue…

Hmmm…there appears to be some kind of anomaly.

My lights are scheduled to go off at random times around 11 p.m.  They have functioned correctly for years, but they were on at 3 a.m. eisy time on the past two days.  This has never happened before.  I have eisy-ui running continuously in a time zone 7 hours ahead of the eisy, and all times are shown in the time zone 7 hours ahead of the eisy.  Could this be influencing the schedule?  I still cannot see the time (or location) in eisy-ui.

Clarity

maybe try to look at the event viewer or IoX logs? all the actions are tagged with a time. This should be generated by IoX not eisy-ui. -- at least that is what I assume. Logs are found in eisy-ui as a tab under the system menu. Event Viewer is a tab on the log page.

In eisy ui, go to System, Configuration and you will see a map on the upper right and a time display picture on the upper left. If it is wrong, follow the next steps.

If you click on the pencil for edit on the upper right it will open a box where on the lower left you can select LOCATE ME. This will open another box with cities and time zones. Select the one that is correct and then back you way out by hitting save and then the tie on the upper left should display correctly.

I have had trouble with manually adjusting the time and it sticking. And when I actually locate myself on the map, the GMT offset is incorrect.

No. The time shoudl be checked in eisy-ui or the admin console. If you have the configuration page but missing map using remote connection, the URL is incorrect and loading an older version of eisy-ui. The eisy-ui remote url has the eisy-ui version in the URL, fix it to use the correct eisy-ui version.

I cannot see any of that! Using URL https://my.isy.io/eisy/1.4.2/favorites/1

Maybe try an incognito tab in case there is a caching issue.

Both UD Mobile and eisy-ui showed the same thing again this morning…lights scheduled to go off around 23.00, but still on at 03.00. Camera confirmed lights were still on at 03.00.

Did incognito work to see system time?
We need to know the system time & the program last run time. Without knowing either it is impossible to debug.

I opened a different browser (Safari instead of Brave); I also tried incognito mode without success. I can access an iMac at home (CDT -0500) and the display is clearly different from the MacBook Pro (CET +0200). But I cannot make sense of them (they were taken as nearly simultaneously as I was able):

Remote machine (CET +0200):

261016 T18.57.21 from remote machine.jpg

Home machine (CDT -0500):

261016 T11.53.56 on home machine.jpg

What is your firmware (iox/udx) versions? If not on the latest production firmware this could be related to a bug in a previous beta/staging Just want to be sure we are both looking at the same firmware.

I'm extremely cautious about upgrading remotely…Murphy's law! I've also tried changing the URL to v1.4.4 of eisy-ui. And BTW, the lights were on again at 03.00 presumed eisy time.

I took these screenshots as near to the same time as I could. What explains the differences in last run, next run, and last finish times? First one is CET -0100 (named it wrong, daylight time!):

CET -0200 (remote to eisy).jpg

second is CDT +0600

CDT +0600 (local to eisy).jpg

Ok I am almost sure Beta 6.1.2_3 had the time issue. There are a few topics on the forum. I think @apostolakisl reported the issue, but I'm having a difficult time finding the forum topics.

With regards to eisy-ui version the URL must match the eisy-ui version installed, if not it could have strange behaviour.

This is not a major upgrade, but It is always safest to do when on location.

Thanks, Javi, I think I'll wait…there are tons of system and app updates awaiting my return!
