Michel Kohanim Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Hello all, I am happy to announce the availability of our 3.2.1 release! For a list of changes, please take a look at this post. This is a minor release to fixed the bugs introduced in 3.2.0 when we introduced support for I2CS devices (including FanLinc). In addition, we added support for a couple of new INSTEON devices. Know Issues None Things to test: - Make sure the programs can be loaded - Random variables - Register and manage I2CS devices, FanLinc, and TempLinc - Make notifications are working again using friendly names (i.e. fname lname:account) Important Information 1. Important If you have already installed a self signed certificate and your current firmware is 2.7.10 and below, you must reinstall a new one before the upgrade. 2. Please note that Safari does not support SSL session reuse and thus might take an exorbitant amount of time to communicate with ISY. As such, when using 2048 bit SSL, it's best not to use Safari. 3. If you are using the Irrigation Module and are upgrading from releases prior to 3.1.5, you must edit the programs using Irrigation variables and save the programs again. Irrigation module is no longer on promotion 4. Upgrading from 3.1.3 and below: If you are using WeatherBug Module's Rain Today in your programs, please note that the precision has changed from 1/10 to 1/100 and thus your programs might not run properly 5. For a discussion of variables, please look at our Program Variables forum. Instructions: 1. Please backup your ISY (File | Backup ISY). If you are backing up a 3.1.6 system, please note that the backups are corrupted. If you have a backup from prior releases, you should be OK 2. Please download the firmware for your platform - please do not unzip ISY 99i Series ISY 994i Series 3. Login to the Admin Console and choose Help | Manually Upgrade [the name of your system] 4. Choose the file saved in step 2 5. After the upgrade, ISY reboots. Please do ensure to clear your Java Cache 6. IMPORTANT Once upgrade is completed and ISY reboots, use any of the following methods to access your ISY's Admin Console: a. 99/994i - http://isy/admin - applet (Windows only) b. 99/994i - http://isy/admin.jnlp - Java application (Windows only) c. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin - applet d. http://your.isy.ip.address/admin.jnlp - Java application e. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.2.1 - applet f. http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3.2.1/admin.jnlp - Java application Dashboard - not fully supported - http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/3. ... board.jnlp 8. Please backup your system again Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
andyf0 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Working nice from inside my house but on an outside connection I get nothing. Is anyone else able to connect in from outside using HTTPS? Quote
TJF1960 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Just checked. Remote thru HTTPS working fine here. Tim Quote
andyf0 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Hmmm! My IP camera is working fine so it's not the router. Just can't connect to the ISY. MobiLinc shows blank for all status'. Need to wait until I get home to investigate further. Haven't seen this before and I did upgrade to 3.2.1 this morning before I left for work. Quote
Xathros Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Hi All- Connectivity is working fine from remote via https or http via vpn for me with 3.2.1. cleared both browser and java caches before testing. First time into config tab, all newwork settings appeared blank. Quit and relaunched admin console and they have been properly displayed ever since. Programs displayed fine. Custom notifications don't seem to be working yet. Test button works - actual custom content notifications containing variables don't. Test 1: From Field Blank, Content default - Works (tested twice) Test 2: From Field blank - Custom content static text in subject and body - works Test 3: From Field filled Fname Lname:emali@address - Content Default - Works and the From is displayed in message correctly. (tested twice) Test 4: From Field filled Fname Lname:email@address - Custom content static text in subject and body - Works (tested twice) Test 5: From field filled Fname Lname:email@address - Custom content with static subject and 1 variable in body - Does not work - Variable used: ${alert.time} All tests using my own smtp. A10/X10 module installed. Otherwise, no other problems noted. -Xathros Quote
Teken Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Updated remotely from work. The update appeared to go fine. Upon clearing the Java cache and relaunching the browser to access the ISY. I am presented with no access? I will have to wait to get off work and hard reboot the ISY and see what happens. Figures the only time I remove my remote web switch from the network. Now, when I need to hard reset the device I have no ability to do so! Teken . . . Quote

Also waiting until I get home to do some troubleshooting. Quote
andyf0 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Couldn't stand it. Went home. Power cycled the ISY and no luck, still no remote access. Quote
andyf0 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 For some reason the update caused Comcast to change the inbound IP address. I have a totally different IP address now. Hasn't changed in 7 years, then did the update and bang! new number. Quote

Hasn't changed in 7 years, then did the update and bang! new number. Alright, great insight. Now, lets see if this is my problem when I get back home. Which if is the case high lights that *EVEN* if I had the ability to remote kill the power to ensure a hard reboot it may not recover due to a IP conflict. Teken . . . Quote
andyf0 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Now you know your certificate is all wrong and you have to get a new certificate if you want remote access without all the pop ups. I still can't get remote access without certificate warnings. Security is such a pain sometimes. Quote
Candide Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Upgraded from 3.1.17 - no issues so far. Thanks! Quote
Candide Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 For some reason the update caused Comcast to change the inbound IP address. I have a totally different IP address now. Hasn't changed in 7 years, then did the update and bang! new number. FIOS changes my IP address every so-often, one period I had at least three address changes in one month. I got a dyn-dns URL, no more issues. dyndns.org, $20 per year. Quote
Teken Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 OK, came home and the following were my observations of the ISY-99i Pro. All three green LEDS were lit solid on the left side. Power cycling the ISY and waiting 10 seconds before applying power brought the device out of lock up. Logged into the Admin Panel and half of the links would not turn on, or display the correct status. One very strange thing I also noted when turning devices on / off. Turning off a device which had a remote linc 2 in the same scene showed that the ISY also changed the status of the remote linc 2? I am not sure why the new firmware would even attempt to display the RL2 status when its clearly not possible. The status for the RL1 remained unknown as it should. I was not comfortable with the current state of the Insteon network so I decided to reload the 3.2.1 firmware. Upon shutting down the ISY I was greeted with another unresponsive system and the system just hung. The only recourse at that time was to go into the Task Manager and kill the process. Reloading the latest 3.2.1 firmware appears to have corrected any ghosts and gremlins in the system. I would like to note that before this whole incident that when I came home and POPO the ISY I was able to remotely login to the system. But, did note the above problems with the instability of the system. Since taking the time to reload the 3.2.1 firmware and deleting the Java cache, and also confirming the *Help, About* both platform and Admin Panel are correct. The system appears to be fully operational at this point in time . . . Teken . . . Quote
andyf0 Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Wow! Nothing like my problem. FYI, the ISY has always displayed what it thought was the current state of a RL. If you set a scene on or off with a RL in it that status is reflected in the RL. If it's blank it means the ISY hasn't received an on or off since last boot. Quote
C Martin Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I updated today. Looks good. I will test all of my functionality. Clarence Quote
apostolakisl Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 My install went just fine. I like the "=random". Can't you change all of them to something nice and self explanatory like that? Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Hello Teken, I am so very sorry to hear about all the problems you had. Can you please: 1. As always, thank you and the entire UDI development staff for their continued support and guidance. Beta, is exactly that and I take no offense or angst in things not working 100% during a developmental cycle. Up ward and onward . . . Teken . . . Quote
apostolakisl Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 After upgrading to 3.2.1 from 3.1.17 the "if status off and switched off" problem is back. About 50% of the time now when I turn off a light that is on, the program of this style incorrectly runs. If Status 'Alexis Room / Alexis Bath-Cans L' is Off And Control 'Alexis Room / Alexis Bath-Cans L' is switched Off Then Set 'Alexis Room / Alexis Bath-Cans L' 25% Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') Quote
LeeG Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 apostolakisl Have/can you run an event trace to see if two Off messages are flowing. Quote
