bsobel Posted December 29, 2012 Share Posted December 29, 2012 I finally installed my third ISY99i at a house that (mostly) had insteon switches installed. The system is working fine except for one 2476S rev 2.2 that the admin console finds easily but reports as 'unknown device'. I thought this switch was supported so stuck as to what to do next. The rest of the system is working fine. I ordered a replacement, but if it's a software issue I can return it before I install it. I'm on the current RC4 version released on the 12/20/12 Suggestions? bsobel Posted December 29, 2012 Author Share Posted December 29, 2012 Ok, I just noticed (I should have double checked) that the Insteon address reported by 'start linking' didn't match the actual address. The unit was 05.da.1f but we reported as 0c.b2.09.0 (and this happens consistently). Manually adding the device worked. Not sure if its a switch bug, PLM bug, or ISY bug. Michel Kohanim Posted December 30, 2012 Share Posted December 30, 2012 Hi Bill, Are you saying that the same switch reports a different ID when you use Start Linking (and does not register) but it does add properly (and ISY recognizes it) when added by its address? I pulled the faceplate to report the model number and that's when I realized the address didn't match. Manually added works fine. LeeG Posted January 2, 2013 Share Posted January 2, 2013 bsobel What is being described is in theory an impossible situation unless the device is malfunctioning. That is why the question about factory reset. The way to verify this is to run Tools | Diagnostics | Event Viewer at LEVEL 3. Add the 2476S using Start Linking and post the event trace.
