ISY994

Is there a command (or program) that can learn what the "Current State" is of a device? (The "current state" that is listed on the ISY summary page in the admin console, e.g. 22%, 30%, On, Off) I would like to be able for a program to query a device, store it's current state in a variable, so a program can later come back and restore that state to the device. For example, turn off all lights in all rooms around a viewing room when the movie starts, then when finished restore those lights to what they were originally - 22% or On or Off, etc.

Hi Guys, The motion detector in my master bathroom stopped working. I thought it was the battery, but even after I replaced it, it wouldn't work (...it would flash, but not update anything in the console). I deleted the device from the ISY99. Now I'm trying to re-add it. When I do that, I get the error: 0A.3C.83 (2420M-SP) INSTEON Motion Sensor v.00 - Cannot determine Insteon Engine I read that this might mean it's too far away from an access point. I have an HDMI matrix switch that I am controlling via rs232 with a global cache itach. I have created the network resources and programs to switch between four different HDMI inputs on the matrix switch. There are four programs, one for each input. Is it possible to set up a single KPL button to cycle through the programs? Each button press would run the next program, allowing me to cycle through the inputs on the HDMI switch. I have tested all of the programs manually from the ISY admin console and they work great. I just can't figure out how to do this with a single KPL button. It would also be very nice to have this on a single remotelinc button if possible. Any …

I want a notification when the heat in the shop turns on or off. I got 1, and only 1 message ever from this program. if I manually click and chose run the if or run the else, I get no email. If Status 'Shop_Heat' is On Or Status 'Shop_Heat' is Off Then Send Notification to 'Alan_Only.2' content 'Shop Heater' Else Send Notification to 'Alan_Only.2' content 'Shop Heater' I suppose logically I should not check for the off status, because the else would run if the ON was false.

At the end of my sprinkler program I added Irrigation - Cycle Complete, which did not seem to do anything. The irrigation requirments were still the same. I had to add Irrigation - Reset Variables to clear the irrigation requirements. What does cycles complete do? Bob Moore

I've managed to confuse my Mac when installing latest java JRE from Oracle. My java pane in System Preferences thinks I'm running 1.7.0_11 but when I go into Terminal and type java -version it appears I'm running 1.6.0_37. ISY admin.jnlp obviously doesn't like java 6 so its not starting. Help! John

Does anyone know if its possible to log on to the ISY994 with the name & pass directly in the URL? ie: something like: http://10.0.1.4/WEB/name="admin",pass="admin"/scenes I found out the other day that you can prevent devices (& scenes I think) from showing in the list if you put a ~ in front of the name which is really cool, but if I could eliminate the logon too, that would make it much faster still.

Just went to manually add a new Keypad. Instructed it to add devices attached with the KeyPad also. Process identified and added the KeyPad, 5 Insteon Dimmer switches, and an AppliancLinc to the Admin Console. However, when the initialization process moved into adding the Scenes, it encountered a problem. There are three screens. One is a cross-link with a single Dimmer Switch. The second is a cross link with an ApplicanLinc. The third is a cross link with 4 Dimmer Switches. The initialization added the first scene, then it froze. My computer is not frozen. I can access the internet and post this note. The ISY software however is hung up. It's stuck at 58% …

Am on firmware 3.3.9 and have a v41 KPL 6 button relay setup as an 8 button kpl and was looking up the device links table with event viewer at level 3 when I noticed the message: Unexpected Response (i.e. DB range): ignored The first time I read the device links table it returned only 5 (of the 48) links with the last one being 00 00 00 ... The second time I did the query I got all 48 link records (which matches what PLM has) but still got the above message part way through. What happened? What does this message mean? I have an ISY994i, MobiLinc Pro and a KeypadLinc. And I want to use KeypadLinc button A for my Garage. It took me all day today tried to get I/O Linc for my Garage Door to work. I followed the Quick Start Guide. In the Admin Console, I don't see the Senor and Relay Update it status when the Garage closed and openned. I am really confuse now. I am going to factory reset the I/O Linc tomorrow morning and try again. Does anyone have a complete step by step guide on how to hook this up? I don't want to mess up some steps and asking for help. I'm using a occupancy program to handle the basement lights, works great most of the time, but I have noticed that there can be long periods (days even), but normally some hours, that one or 2 of the sensors just are not seen on the network any more. if I come along press the set button one time, then they may work for a few days again and then stop (like to day at 5:46) they blink but nothing in a level 2 or three log. Are these 2420M sensors just too flake to use? It's a pain for the lights to turn off 20 minutes earlier than they are supposed to.

Do Insteon modules broadcast their status automatically when their state changes? I am not getting module status in my ISY-99i after installing an EZX10RF module to receive the X10 commands from my Palm Pads and control the Insteon modules linked to it. That setup works fine, but I don't see the status of these lights change in the console or on my MobiLinc app. I don't see any status information in the Event Log either. I can control the lights using the console controls and status is displayed correctly then, but any external control of the lights is not reflected as a status change in the ISY. I notice that program examples provided by UD in the Wiki include a WAIT for 2 seconds before doing certain things (or after?). I have a KPL key (6) that is a controller for a scene that includes turning on the load controlled by the same KPL's key (1). Unfortunately, the load lights come on full instead of at the 30% dimmed rate that is specified in the scene. All of the other lights in the scene come on as expected. Any ideas on what I may not be doing? There is a program that I don't think is involved in the problem...but I'll include it in case it is and I don't understand why... (The program just checks all of the loads in the scene and, if they are all on at any level, shows so by lighting up the KPL key - or turning it off whenever any one of the lights in the scene is turned off). …

Newbie here. Between 1 am and 5 am, I need to turn on some lights when a motion sensor trips on, then turn the lights off 10 minutes later. Can I get this accomplished in 1 program?

Just received my first 6 keypadlinc and am having issues programming. I created a new scene with the on / off buttons included. I then tried to add an X10 switch to the scene and received an error message that the request failed. Im hoping I havent learned two lessons here the hard way. First can you add an X10 device to be controlled by a KeyPadLinc controller? Second can you have discrete scenes for the On and Off buttons? Or am I just dumb as a stump for not being able to figure this out?

Long-time lurker, first-time poster (actually just registered today)... Yesterday I received the ISY994 i/IR PRO and PLM2413S. I also have the following - a couple of Insteon LED bulbs, two AccessPoints, an ApplicanceLinc, an Insteon Open/Close sensor, and waiting on an Insteon 2852-222 Leak Sensor. These devices have been collecting dust for a couple of weeks, waiting for the ISY and PLM to show up. Now the crux of my issues - setup has been an absolute nightmare... I followed the initial ISY startup directions exactly per the Wiki instructions and YouTube videos. - First, the PLM doesn't provide power to the ISY. Although this isn't a big deal since …

Having to replace and wondered if I teach new one IR commands in same order as old Can I use replace function on IRLincTx device? Only have 12 commands and 5 of those used in simple scenes so no big deal to manually switch out. Thanks

My ISY99i "froze" while I was at work. When I got home the power, Rx, and Tx lights were steadily on. I could not get into the ISY admin or access it in any way. I unplugged the ISY for 10-15 seconds but it came back up the same (lights steadily on). I unplugged it for 30-45 seconds with the same result. Then I unplugged it for 3-5 minutes. That "fixed" the problem and after 2 minutes of startup the unit started working again. What is the problem? Thanks, Steve

When I log into my admin console, the "Current State" box of all my devices is blank. Obviously, something is wrong. I next took this step to ensure my PLM is connected - Tools, Diagnostics, PLM Info/Status - indicates connected. I then logged off and logged back on. Same issue. Current State for all devices is simply blank. What can I do next to figure out why this is a problem?

New to ISY. Encountered strange outcome when setting up Motion Sensor 2842-222. ISY 994i Windows XP Microsoft Security Essentials ZoneAlarm Linksys WRT54GL Set up manually. Selected 2842-222 from drop down box. After set up complete, a scene was automatically established that linked the Motion Sensor with a dual-band KeypadLinc Button A (nearest dual band device to sensor when setting up sensor). Don't have a clue why this scene appeared. The Sensor was brand new, and I have no other sensors in my setup. When testing sensor, every time motion was detected, Button A on KeyPadLinc lit up. Hey all, I would like to create a program with my ISY to control the thermostat when I am at my lake house. Currently I just control it manually and set it back when we are gone. I can access it from my phone to bring it to a good temp before we arrive. While we are there I would like to not have to manually change it at night and in the morning. I guess all I really need is a day and night setting. Are there any examples out there? I saw the example in the wiki for the office program but didn't know if somebody had a version for a home. My allowable depletion says its, 0.165" and the irrigation requirement is 1.6214" in the climate tab. The program's irrigation requirement says if the irrigation requirement is >0.5" then the sprinklers are to start. For some reason the irrigation module never triggers my sprinklers to start. Any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks!
