  1. Stu highlighted the changes "Connected Home is now Smart Home and it's no longer in Settings." Not certain when they were made but you should see it in the page. Jon...
  2. The Alexa App also has changes in it. Jon...
  3. Shee! You're right about that! I just test a sensor trying to create "Two Node" and thought I killed it Had a hard time getting it to factory reset for some reason? I had thought this option was software specific which indicated to me ISY firmware? Jon...
  4. Would they make up their minds I was just getting used to the tones. Somewhere, sometime we need control of the option! Jon...
  5. There is currently no purpose in either the Skill or Connected Home for the spoken field in device notes but it doesn't hurt to leave them filled in. The only spoken field used is that which is completed in the Portal What you might do is go to the Alexa app -> Smart Home and review the list of connected Devices. If you see any greyed out you can remove them or select "Forget all devices and groups" at bottom of page and rediscover. Jon...
  6. Clearing java cache won't stop a process ISY is active in. Try Start Linking then click Finish and see what happens. Also, if that doesn't work open Event Viewer to Level 3 and record events for short period then copy to clipboard and paste into message. Jon...
  7. Since you're into it this far.. you might just open Start Linking and click Finish and see what happens Jon...
  8. I just test this Link Management -> Start Linking and nothing happened but it simply closed because nothing was in linking mode. here's the trace from Event Viewer Level 3 Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:24 PM : Start Insteon Device Linking Mode Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:24 PM : [LNK-BGN ] 02 64 01 00 06 Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:30 PM : Stop Insteon Device Linking Mode, Final processing to follow Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:30 PM : [LNK-END ] 02 65 06 : : Unexpected, ignored (65) Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:30 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices Mon 03/21/2016 04:21:30 PM : [All ] Writing 0 bytes to devices You might post your trace and that might give a clue. Jon...
  9. I'm not saying it won't work and you could obtain power consumption but it should go in your power panel (dryers use 220v for the heating element.) Your least invasive method is the zwave then I believe marcin's suggestion. Jon...
  10. you're free to do what you want and maybe you're planning other zwave installs but marcin's suggestion (post 17) to me sounds simplest. There's a specific question on Amazon's listing as to using this for 220v dryer. I have a 220v clothes dryer. Could I use this device by putting the clip(s) around the cord leading into the wall? Jon...
  11. Ok.. didn't see that before in System. I don't know but you could open a ticket with support and they'll straighten it out (fairly responsive.) Jon...
  12. I don't know a way of rebooting ISY through the admin console unless you update firmware or restore ISY? Dashboard is a separate app that offers other control (go to release thread for your firmware.) Jon...
  13. You can also reboot ISY from the Dashboard (you can download from release post for same firmware version, bottom of message.) click wrench looking icon upper right and select System. Jon...
  14. You can also reboot via Telnet using RS Jon
  15. I think I'd reboot ISY (unplug power for 30 sec.) however.. I'm unclear about this --> "the ISY read in direct links from previous software management so I've only had to manage scenes up to now" Jon...
  16. You can create two nodes for the sensor. group 1 would give an On for open and Off for close, group 2 would give Off for open and On for close. I haven't used this option but I believe it would allow using the sensor as a controller in two scenes. Heartbeat is a security function that allows you to test for communication/operation status and supplements the low battery function. Laundry Notification - [ID 00D6][Parent 00D4] If 'Door Sensors / Laundry / Laundry - Door Sensor / Laundry- Heartbeat' is switched On Or 'Door Sensors / Laundry / Laundry - Door Sensor / Laundry- Heartbeat' is switched Off Then Wait 25 hours Send Notification to 'Jon Cell Phone' Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') The more options you add to the sensor the higher the battery drain. Jon...
  17. Yes, my hidden door sensor batteries last at least 6 mos. You might review the option settings. I only use 1 node and and heartbeat check is set for 21 hours 15 minutes. I'm sure using LED on, two node or any other messaging will decrease battery life. Jon...
  18. Yes, and you always want the UI version to match the Firmware version. Jon...
  19. From the Wiki... Admin Console Closes AutomaticallyThis is usually related to firewall software on your computer and especially with AVAST or AVG (including MAC). Two solutions: Use https (instead of http) to connect to your ISY Configure Your Firewall Software Also, you might consider using the java application rather than the applet as the applet gets tied into browser resources. The other thing to look at is Java security settings. Jon...
  20. You'll learn it hand to create conditions such as Home | Away | Sleep | etc.. using State Variables and applying these to programs. These variables can be changed using a number of different methods like a remote for sleep or your phone's WiFi (location) for Home/Away. If Status 'MBR-Corner Lamp' is Off And Control 'ZW 002 MBR Motion Sensor' is switched On And $s.Sleep is 1 Jon...
  21. You can use Open and Close in the Skill but it's addressing devices and you'd have to say... Alexa, tell Izzy to open <device name> Running programs in the Skill you'd say Alexa, tell Izzy to run <program name> and the program would run from "If." Running programs in Connected Home you'd say Alexa, <program name> On/Off where On=run Then and Off=run Else. In Connected Home Open and Close have no definition as such that I'm aware of. Jon...
  22. Or you could try this... If Status 'MBR-Corner Lamp' is Off And Control 'ZW 002 MBR Motion Sensor' is switched On Then Set 'MBR-Corner Lamp' 15% Else Wait 20 seconds Set 'MBR-Corner Lamp' Off You can observe the actions of the program by right clicking on it > Status Icons > Detailed then activate and observe Jon...
  23. You'd have to look over the Mobilinc Forum but there are many who use and appreciate the app so it is functional. I personally think it's worth it but there are other alternatives as I pointed out and depending on what you need to accomplish mobile wise. Jon...
  24. There are several apps under development (here and here) and some use HAD for mobile devices. I've also heard rumors of UDI's interest but nothing seems to have developed as yet. That said... Mobilinc is the most refined app for mobile devices that's so far available and I've used it for years without issues. Maybe if you further define the problems you're having someone can help resolve? As Stu pointed out.. Wes is readily available on the Mobilinc Forum Jon...
  25. Hi Dale, Welcome to the Forum! Yes, this is the correct place to post general questions. For both scenario's you should remove the motion sensor from the scene and control via programs. There's no way to control when the motion sensor will be active in the scene nor is there a way to control which responders it'll control. A device can only be placed as a controller in one scene. Jon...
