Alexa control of an ISY directly or using Mobilinc
Scottmichaelj replied to GreyFox's topic in Amazon Echo
It really comes down to two choices. Using the ISY portal or MobiLinc portal. Look at this discussion for details, UDI vs Mobilinc smart home skill https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=23986&share_tid=21339&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum%2Euniversal-devices%2Ecom%2Findex%2Ephp%3F%2Ftopic%2F21339-UDI-vs-Mobilinc-smart-home-skill&share_type=t -
Siri Integration, now we are talking! PM Sent.

So there is a thread on another forum I frequent titled "What did you do today..." - so I thought it would be fun maybe to start something like that here. Maybe things that don't really need a thread and just a way to share. Doesn't have to be Home Automation related. Can be anything you want! (or learned) Today I spent a couple hours working on my server racks doing some organization. I unplugged everything and loaded up my Brultech Dashbox web interface. When I started plugging everything back in I made notes how much power was being used by each device. Short story check your devices! I found over 200W worth of vampire draws. I also found DirecTV DVRs were using about 40W each turned off! An amp for my theater room was drawing 100W in "standby"! Needless to say I put an appliancelinc on that sucker and the only time its uses power now is when I need it!

You have to use the non secured port.

Come join us in this thread specifically for the wireless tags. The Kumoapp script is there for ISY integration using variables. They do make "rain proof" versions for outside.

NOTHING will stop smash and grabs. Your not going to win the argument with people. #BeTheBiggerPerson #LetItGo - The rest of us understand your point and some even agree with you.

If you go to the tags and order there's a drop down to select the tag type. Its the "weatherproof" one your after. I don't get the range they say so I didn't respond to this thread for it being a solution. YMMV Hope they work for you. I love my tags for other things temperature related. Edit: Added the URL https://store.wirelesstag.net/products/wireless-tag-pro

I have DEV DOT myself that I am playing with for a project. Edit: Added screenshots plus wanted to add the DOTs are cheaper than iBeacons

I use "Light Dims" as well. I am a bit extreme but I also have some in my suitcase and take them with me when I travel and use them in my hotel rooms.

Does anyone make an Insteon announcement speaker/device
Scottmichaelj replied to Bill Morrow's topic in ISY994
You should share your WAV files on a free service like Dropbox for people who want to do the same thing as you. Would save many a lot of time and help the community. -
Why this is "technically" true there is a work around. If you have the portal you can use IFTTT with your Honeywell TStats. [emoji3]

Followup. It was defective IOLincs. I got the new one installed and all is good with the world. I can confirm the versions I got were v2.4 and you do indeed hear a "CLICK" sound when pressing the "SET" button on the side which turns it on/off. My defective ones didn't. What timing! Help a member with theirs and mine dies.

Glad that worked for you. As for VText not sure as I dont have Verizon but there's a ton of SSL and security changes happening so maybe something with that?

Are you using iOS? If so you can install the GMAIL app you will get notifications instantly when you get email. The gmail app pushes new emails where as the Apple Mail app fetches. I just sent myself a test message and got a iOS notification from the Gmail app within 10 seconds or so. Maybe give that a try?

Amazon has partnered with USPS and UBER to make deliveries in my area so I can get same day, weekend and holiday delivery. Most of the time and free.
