Your ISY more than likely has upnp checked thus this message is present. If you're not connected to the Internet how do you suppose you're going to download the firmware file? Magic? [emoji45][emoji6] Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
-
Agreed, one is a one time install. The other is a endless futile attempt in maintenance and does not offer you direct control of the motion light. All it does is turn it on! Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
-
Than in that case assuming it's not dual bright you can install a micro relay on/off module to control and manage this Motion Light. The micro is small enough to install within the JBOX. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
-
I'm not sure how that would offer you any new lighting besides turning on an existing outdoor light fixture? [emoji47] Ideals are peaceful - History is violent
-
Most standard motion lights will operate just fine with the new micro modules which has a 120 VAC sense lead. Dual bright units normally cause issues or don't work at all. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

Xathros, As always your insight and feed back is most appreciated. You're correct after clearing the nag prompt the back up does appear to continue even if its much slower to progress. I believe as part of my SOP is to stop all network connections for those few moments while this process is underway. The 2-7 minutes isn't going to kill me . . . As for the folder color, I am going to just monitor it and see if anything negative comes out of it. As far as I can tell it isn't impacting the system from operating at all. I really wish a legend would be provided in the system as to what the colors mean when they appear. This would assist new users and those who don't enter the Admin Console on a consistent basis. Scouring the forums for a cryptic phrase in hopes of finding out what it means is a process to insanity at times. This is why I am a strong supporter of standardized naming conventions and titles, with tags!
-
So just moments ago the folders have changed color again? I am not sure if this is related to those annoying socket errors I see from time to time. I have never had any issues making a back up image before in previous releases. But, now when I perform a back up I see several of these time out socket whatever error messages. It makes me doubt the quality of the back ups being produced and generated by the system. As I have noted during several Beta releases, the message from UDI indicates certain firmware levels did not create proper back ups. Am I safe to assume no one knows why the folder is a different color not listed or known to any human being on this board??

If you want to really add it and worry about the coupling later. Just wire it to an extension cord on the same leg as the PLM. Once it enrolls successfully you can take on the coupling / bridging. NOTE: Once you have enrolled the toggle linc expect unreliable command and control from scenes / programs until the above is solved.

I would start by upgrading your firmware to the latest 4.2.27 so everyone is using the same point of reference. As it included lots of fixs and security updates. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

All Beta updates are posted in this forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/forum/15-current-release-betas-and-bug-reports/The latest release is 4.2.27 RC4: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/15552-release-4227-rc4-is-now-avaialble/ Each release indicates what has been fixed, resolved, and upgraded.

OK, it finally happen again and I was able to take a screen capture so I wasn't drunk after all! I added both before and after so those who have some insight can ponder this odd behavior.

I can't offer any feedback since I don't own one. So either you trust the user reviews and gamble and try it out. Or consider other temperature monitoring solutions. Since you can't actually see and know the ambient temperature you need to trust the preset trip level is adequate. I personally would want to be able to see and monitor that value and also not rely on power line as a key method for monitoring. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

Blackbird, You know what I was under the impression this device acted like a 1 wire sensor in that you could see the actual temperature values? When in fact this device simply open / closes its contact once a preset temperature has been met. Thus causing the I/O linc to trip and activate in your Insteon network. If this is the case the program above will not help you directly in terms of monitoring the temp. But, perhaps inform you the current state of the sensor of either open / close. My humble apologies in not reading the spec and being caught up with my own little world of monitoring!
-
Since its for a freezer I would gather its operating range would be 5 - 32'F (-15 - 0'C). They used to have a listed spec when it would trip but its since been removed. I would do a Google search or reach out to the vendor to find out the exact trip range. Once you know what it is you most certainly want to test it to ensure it does operate as expected. Once that is known you can follow the program from Xathros and all should be good. I have spent most of the afternoon creating energy, temperature, and force protection programs taking advantage of this excellent program. Let us know what you find out as I am sure this information will help out someone else down the road.
-
Hello Randy, Really looking forward to what you find out and what the API offers the end users. Please follow up with the group once you get more information and have the time to code and play with the box. Having a central device instead of carrying a phone would be most excellent and would finally round out my HA eco system.

You can not adjust the temperature of the sensor but you can certainly create a program with a temperature range you feel is safe. You can use this excellent small program offered by Xathros to assist you in this effort located here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/15547-setup-questions/ I use this elegant program to allow me to see the dynamic temperature changes as well as the last high / low temperatures in various parts of the home and infrastructure. I am in the process of using this program to track, monitor, and react to energy demands and consumption targets. Along with using them for fail safe items to protect the home and its occupants which encompass HVAC, Electrical, Water, Gas, Fire / Smoke, and force protection elements.

From reading past threads and other forums. The Z-Wave standard indicates a class or type of devices should be supported. I gather some how the ISY has added these aspects by mistake. I would simply remove them and add it back in and all should be well. I have seen this persistent issue with the multi sensor from various people. Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

Just to be clear do you in fact have icon devices in the home? What does the label say for the brand new switch just installed? Ideals are peaceful - History is violent

As a data point I have several MS that are the same age and both of them auto update via HL2 with out issue. Using the ISY it does not so there is an obvious disconnect in how UDI has deployed their method etc. I have brand new MS which arrived during the XMAS sale and three of them will not auto update using the ISY. So clearly this feature needs more work because its not reliable in how it operates.

I have nothing of value to add to this conversation but this reply struck me funny!

I guess I can't throw too many stones at Smartlabs then can I? Sometimes I really wonder if some of these people step out of the bubble they surround themselves with.
-
Do these devices held in the iSY not have some kind of reset button / tab to do so?? It would be a little strange to force a user to enter a device directly to reset its values.
