  2. Let's just say I'm a firm believer in comprehensive insurance coverage for the home and automobiles. Leaving three vehicles outside gives the illusion of someone at home while offering force protection. A Bobcat is left inside because it's worth more than two of the other vehicles! Never mind all the other expensive gear inside of the man cave! Besides enjoying a few cold ones in there I actually perform lots of work inside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I've been using the Insteon Open - Close (Trigger Linc) sensor and conducting long term Arctic cold weather testing for almost eight years. The addition of the open - close sensor has enabled me to have a secondary confirmation while offering fail over. This version simply uses a $0.55 cent double swing hinge. Due to magnetic strength of the opposite part you'll notice I affixed a counter weight to ensure no matter how cold it gets *Old Man Gravity* will force the Open - Close sensor down. The second generation like the other member uses a encapsulated tilt sensor. Using this method reduced costs, parts count, and allowed more flexible *Tuned* mounting. Regardless of what anyone says a OEM GDO's have never been items that should be interfaced with 3rd party hardware. Yet we as a community do so ~ Because there is a need and we can. Unlike probably 99% of the population here and around the world I never have to worry about X vs Y opening the largest door in my home. That's because when ever the system is armed the GDO is disconnected and the door is physically locked down with four dead bolt solenoids. No power, no movement . . . 4 points pinned, impossible to lift the door . . . During long term absence bollards are inserted into place which guards against someone trying to ram the door. Considering three cars are parked outside of the main door that makes it near impossible for someone to move three vehicles and breach the garage door.
  4. Very sorry to hear this. On a related tangent if you're interested I've purchased a new RPi audio board in hopes of replicating what many of you have done with the HFB. Please message me if you're interested in a link to the product.
  5. Do you so happen to have another PSU? Also, the test you performed was with out the Hi-Fi Berry attached, correct?
  6. Hello Bill, When you apply power to the Pi does the unit show any indicator lights?
  7. No problem ~ Only caveat is to ensure you use the matching UI / Admin Console. Otherwise you may see odd behavior or unexpected results. Please ensure you clear out the Java cache and select all option box's if you decide to use a older Admin Console.

Understood, could be another time suck.
  9. To be more specific Insteon's dual band system does not operate independently of the RF from the power-line hardware. If there is line noise impacting the insteon hardware the RF portion will not correct / solve that. In the ideal world the hardware should allow a person to cut out the physical power-line signal to the hardware and then allow the RF to be the primary communications. I agree with the above a metal JB only limits the Insteon RF. Never seen a metal box cause noise issues in the system. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Good to know the extension cord worked to prove the hardware was fine. Just repurpose the switch elsewhere in the home. Rock On . . . [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If the device isn't under warranty and you feel compelled to tinker. You can take the switch apart and replace every capacitor in the unit. I've done this to over 15 pieces of hardware from Switch Lincs, KPL, PLM, and Appliance Links. If you're handy with a soldering iron and have time to kill it's a great project to revive and learn on. Can you please confirm the ISY Series Controller indicates both Firmware & UI are using the same version. ie. 4.X.X Also, if you have a old extension cord you can sacrifice try to wire it up and then plug it into the same outlet as the 2413S PLM and report back success vs failure.

If you purchased directly from Smarthome and did so under your registered account. The system will indicate every purchase you made with them.

If and when you remove that old switch could you humor me by connecting it to a old extension cord and plug it into the same outlet as the 2413S PLM? Please ensure you hard reset the switch at least two times before you try to add it back to the ISY. Lastly, please do check if the hardware is still covered by the 2 year warranty ~ You never know! ☝️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If you remove all the bulbs. Check to see if you can query the switch if so great. Then your next step is to complete the device restore. It might just be easier to delete and add the device back to save time. Ensure the bulbs are removed during this process. Assuming the hardware can be controlled and seen by the ISY. Your next step is to add one bulb at a time until you see a fault in coms. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Once you complete a hard reset the links are erased. You need to complete a device restore to link back to the controller. If it's easier to remove the red load wire sure but if it's easier to unscrew the bulb even better! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Remove the load from the switch. Does the ISY Series Controller see and control it now correctly after you do a query? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Since you haven't purchased it I would do some in depth research on the device to see if it offers some of the things I mentioned. Quite a few members here and around the world have decided to back this IndiGoGo project: http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/21320-weather-flow-march-beta-trials/
  20. Does this hardware offer a means to connect to the system and retrieve the data via a open API? Whether that be a web scrape, polling, push connection from the hardware itself? [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. You can always just try a single device to see. It doesn't work now so you have nothing to lose!
  22. You're getting to the point where the hair on your head is becoming a lot thinner. Hard resetting and starting from scratch is getting closer. ☝️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. Can you perform a device restore and let us know the result? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Silly question is this a 6 button KPL that was converted to a 8 and vice versa? What does the ISY think this device is? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
