  1. Hello kedmund, Please do be kind enough to clear your Java cache (System Preferences | Java | Settings) and then go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp . With kind regards, Michel
  2. Hi Guys, That's not normal. Can you please let me know what's your firmware version? With kind regards, MIchel
  3. Thank you both. Time to get working on this change. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi someguy, What's the frequency of PLMs dying? With kind regards, Michel
  5. Hi LeeG, You are 100% correct. I never thought it through. So, we should add another node called Heartbeat that status of which is never changed but we would receive Control. i.e. we always get ON command for the heartbeat so the status never changes. Does everyone agree? With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hi LeeG, Thanks so very much for the clarification. My main question now is whether or not we need to have a 3rd node for group 4 + an additional control called heartbeat. At the moment, I am thinking that we do not need the 3rd node but that we send a DON for group 1 every time we get a heartbeat. Your thoughts? With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hi Mark, Unfortunately ISY does not do multi-zone calculations. There are a few things about the irrigation module that you should know: 1. The amount of water applied per cycle is 100% up to you. If you wish, you can make that a very small number so that the program is called multiple times to water 2. Actual Water applied is dependent on absorption factor ... since you have 10s of different zones, I am not sure how this would work With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hi LeeG, Thanks so very much for the detailed explanation. It seems that we will have to add group 4 for heartbeat. There's just no way out of it as I can see it now. With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hi Simonw So far so good! Request to have your modules transferred You need the PLM without which you cannot do anything. I am not sure what this means. What you need to do is to unplug your 99, plug the PLM into your 994, and then plug your 994 into power. YES. Without the PLM, ISY is in Safe Mode and thus you are not going to see any of your variables/programs.
  10. Hi Brian, All those errors are related to ISY not being able to contact the server. You might want to try a different NTP server. For a list of available ones from NIST, take a look at here: http://tf.nist.gov/tf-cgi/servers.cgi With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hi Guys, Just got a message from SmartHome: we should be getting the broadcasts as long as the device has been linked (or has at least one link). Has anyone seen these? With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hello az1324, Group FF is the broadcast group. That's how all on/all off work. And, as I mentioned before, ISY should hear these messages (on FF) simply because the PLM already has 2 more links for this device (just like All on/All off). So, the back to the issue of why we are not seeing the heartbeat. With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hello az1324, I totally understand. Unfortunately that would break everything we do within ISY to ensure there are no half links. With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hello kclenden, The reason is because of legacy issues with PLM (things we tried to prevent from happening) some of which no longer apply. So, we will revisit Safe Mode to see what else we can do. Zigbee version does not go into safe mode because you can still communicate with Zigbee devices. Thanks so very much for checking/verifying the link. With kind regards, Michel
  15. And to apostolakisl's point, perhaps you have ISY programs that are interfering with with communications? With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hi Guys, As you may know, to increase reliability, INSTEON RF/Dual-Band devices send 2 (or more) messages. Somehow, ISY has to figure out which are duplicate. If this device is dual band, then that explains the problem. With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello kclenden, Sincere apologies for tardy reply. 1. You cannot save and load programs in safe mode 2. Please try the URL again: http://www.universal-devices.com/prod-disclaimer.pdf ... broken link in the server. THANK YOU for bringing this to our attention With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hi robr, Thanks again. Would you please let me know which URL you are using to access your ISY? The only issue I see is that we have defined 1.7+ as the minimum requirement in all URLs so I am not sure how yours is still working. I am quite disappointed in both Apple and Oracle: Apple for developing Java on its own and then forcing people to upgrade OSs to use certain Java levels. And, Oracle for not being security aware especially since Java runs on billions of devices. Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel
  19. Hello az1324, Are you suggesting that we create a half link with a dummy destination address? With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hi Ron, Thank you. Please try the following: 1. Clear your Tools | Error Log 2. Next time when you have this issue, record the date/time 3. Once you get access back to ISY, send me the error log + data/time At the minimum, we'll know whether or not there were any ISY related errors. With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hello jwilliams, sincere apologies for tardy reply: I am still trying to recover from the flu. What error did you get when you tried adding the ApplianceLinc? With kind regards, Michel
  22. Hello robr, Thanks SO very much for finding this solution. Indeed appreciated. With kind regards, Michel
  23. Hello jwilliams, It means that your Admin Console can no longer talk to your ISY. If you are on a wireless network, it's possible that you lost network connectivity. Did the KPL add (after Admin Console restart)? With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hi Ron, Do in-laws use 4G as well (high speed)? In short, with 4G, how confident are you that at that moment you still have connectivity? With kind regards, Michel
  25. Hi Bill, I suspect your PLM is dead. Two tests: 1. Can you please reboot your ISY, then go to Admin Console | Diagnostics | PLM Info/Status? If "Not Connected", then your PLM is dead. Otherwise 2. Go to Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Link Table, click on Start, wait for the process to complete and then click on the Count button. How many links do you have? With kind regards, Michel
