System Busy
Hi Schoolhouse, It's best to wait but ISY actually queues all commands so even if you didn't wait, worst case scenario would be that the command might not run. With kind regards, Michel

ISY99i- ...uploading file (reported written size is invalid)
Hello dlandrum, As long as you have a zip file, then the possible problems could be: 1. Your firewall software. You might want to try https instead of http as some firewalls do not consider https a threat 2. If you are still having problems, please do contact our tech support team and we'll be delighted to help you upgrade With kind regards, Michel

ISY 99irpro upgrade
Hello io_guy, There was an issue with 98 (I am not sure how far back the issue was introduced) whereby some of the link records in the PLM were set to 0000s. The outcome was that no status would be forthcoming from the PLM. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.17 (RC) Is Now Available
Hi tunaman, What's the schedule grace period? When you use precise times and, let's say ISY was busy at that moment (+grace period) and missed the schedule then the program will not run. So, the first thing I would suggest is to use From/To (increasing the grace period is global; using From/To is local to your program). And, finally, is it possible that this program is inside a folder with condition? With kind regards, Michel

ISY 99irpro upgrade
Hi Jim! Personally, I would only leave it in the old house if and only if it could add value to the house (increase the sales price). Yes, make sure it's version 99 or above This shouldn't be a problem Yes you can but then we would have to remove it from the old one. In short, the price is per unit and not per customer With kind regards, Michel

help setting up basic irrigation settings with module
Hi again! No, it's the total water applied. Please remember that it's totally up to you to deliver that amount of power in programs. i.e.: Set 'Front Yard' On Wait 10 minutes Set 'Back Yard' On Wait 5 minutes Set 'Back Yard' Off Irrigation - Cycle Complete ISY currently only supports one zone. Although it has not been tested, you should be able to use Repeat and then ISY will stop when the requirement is met (you can make Water applied smaller): Repeat 10 times Set 'Front Yard' On Wait 10 minutes Set 'Back Yard' On Wait 5 minutes Set 'Back Yard' Off Irrigation - Cycle Complete With kind regards, Michel

help setting up basic irrigation settings with module
Hi binaryman, Let me see if I can help: 1. First, adjust your soil type ... this is very important 2. Then, adjust how much water do you apply per cycle (normally or historically) ... you do not have to worry about the exact number but whatever you have done before. The module figures out when the next cycle should be automatically 3. Then, use the Irrigation Requirement variable in the condition in your program, let the sprinklers run for as many minutes necessary to be close to #2 (above) and then complete the cycle by Cycle Complete in the Then section In short, the things you have to provide to ISY are: 1. Soil type 2. How much water are you currently applying when you turn your sprinklers on? So, for instance, if you currently have 2 minutes and the sprinkler(s) distributes 0.2 inches per minute, then you would put 0.2" for Water Applied per Irrigation Cycle 3. The rest is automatic With kind regards, Michel

DNS issues on isy-99i
Hello binaryman, E4200 as in Linksys/Cisco, correct? If so, (Bruce) K7ZPJ reported this a while back: May I humbly suggest upgrading your router's firmware and do a hard reset (as described above)? With kind regards, Michel

isy controller windows
Hello flemingmike, There's Orchestrator Dashboard which you might want to give a try: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/dashboard.jnlp This requires Java but it's more of a user interface than Admin Interface (unlike the Admin Console). With kind regards, Michel

Satellite Internet compatability and the isy-991
Hi dbanks, It all depends on the throughput on your Satellite internet. If it's very low, they you are going to have many disconnects especially if you use the Admin Console remotely (Admin Console subscribes to ISY and then ISY keeps sending heartbeats and making sure that Admin Console is still alive). This said, we have many customers successfully using satellite connectivity to gain remote access to ISY. With kind regards, Michel

help setting up basic irrigation settings with module
Hello binaryman, Comments below. With kind regards, Michel This is the water that is applied in each cycle. ISY would really have a hard time figuring out how much water is applied in each cycle without you providing it. Allowable depletion is automatically calculated by ISY based on the water applied per irrigation cycle and soil type. So, you either enter one or the other. That program is used in lieu of the Irrigation Module and not in combination with. Thank you! Have you looked at this article: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... ion_Module With kind regards, Michel

DNS issues on isy-99i
Hello binaryman, Can you tell me what's your ISY's firmware version? Also, please note that some routers do not like resolving DNS queries for devices that are not from their own DHCP pool. So, you might want to consider using DHCP and DHCP reservation to ensure that the router is not issuing ISY new IP address. With kind regards, Michel

Power Outage and ISY 26/99 (versions 2.6/1.0)
mohansen, ISY does an ID request at boot up. Doing this every minute may cause undesired behavior. With kind regards, Michel

Android Interface
Hi Vince, Thanks so very much. We just ordered two more HTC EVO phones and Nick, the inventor of ISY AJAX, is going to take a look and see how we can make things look nicer on Droid. With kind regards, Michel

Weather Bug - What data is available?
Blaine, Thanks so very much for the feedback and we do not consider feedback and suggestions threatening. As much as we would love to add as many features as possible but our resources are finite and thus we do things based on priorities and ROI. And - I very much hope I am not offending you: promises of large sales we have had in 100s some of which we implemented but all of which produced zero sales. If this is as important as it sounds, we would be delighted to make a project out of it for you provided that we understand the ROI and your level of commitment. Above and beyond this, our focus is to methodically add features for our existing customers base. We do have forecast in our requirements but it has low priority. With kind regards, Michel

Power Outage and ISY 26/99 (versions 2.6/1.0)
Hi kaisersoze, I am so very sorry ... I must have missed your post. mohansen/kaisersoze, unfortunately it would be quite difficult for ISY to sense power loss without a battery backup and an extra switching power supply to switch to battery during power loss. One ugly solution might be the support for pinging a network device (something that's always on such as your router) and if that does not respond then assume power loss. But, this is ugly too since one has to make sure not to issue too many pings and all sorts of other side effects such as router is not responding but you still have power. With kind regards, Michel

Problems restoring a KeypadLinc
Hi Andrew, Thanks so very much for the detailed explanation. ISY does store everything that has to be restored in a configuration file including memory locations. An Event Viewer trace would be of great importance in finding any bugs. Hi ronbo, I am so very sorry to hear. Before restoring your KPL, did you do a compare to see if there are any mismatches? Also, what was the root cause of any problems before restoring the KPL? With kind regards, Michel

When I view thermostat it sets temp to 78 degrees.
Hi barkster, Thank you. There was one more report of an issue similar to yours and the problem was fixed (temporarily) by resetting the thermostat (just unplug the dongle and plug it back in). Also, please note the following: 1. Cool setpoint cannot be greater than Heat setpoint ... the thermostat will automatically revert 2. The difference between cool and heat setpoints cannot be more than 2 ... again, the thermostat will automatically revert With kind regards, Michel

Problems restoring a KeypadLinc
Hi andrewm, It would really help us if we have an event viewer output so that we can debug and find root cause. Or, at the minimum, some history such as: 1. How was this device added originally? 2. What was the nature of misbehavior? Obviously, had we found the bug, it would have been fixed and thus not a pita. I appreciate your help. With kind regards, Michel

Unable to change https port.
Hello Phil, Apologies for the inconvenience. When you are local, the Admin Console uses the HTTP port. When you are report, it's up to you to add the :port suffix to the URL. All this said, I am sure this must be frustrating. Please do not hesitate to contact us (below) so that we can schedule a remote session and configure your router for you. With kind regards,
