Isy log automation
Hello iostream212, You can if you have an external device using our REST interface: /rest/log /rest/log?reset=true ... clears all system log entries /rest/log/error /rest/log/error?reset=true ... clears all error log entries There were a few reasons for the differences between the two and mostly historical: 1. The System Log captured events from devices and programs and, originally, included error information too which became quite unmanageable 2. The System Log is transmitted in CSV and used minimal amount of information ... it's basically the Admin Console that translates those values (such as time in NTP, and device address) to human readable form and then into Excel 3. The System log has to capture more parameters 3. The error log, on the other hand, only has a code and then description ... this did not fit well with what we had for System Log In short, they are really different things. We still have a SysLog requirement that we haven't had a chance to look at but I think that would be the best option in the long run (though it might have a negative impact on network performance in a highly busy system). With kind regards, Michel

Lost Venstar thermostats - please help
Hi Jim, Is your new PLM a dual band PLM? If so, have you removed your other access points or otherwise have you made sure they are still bridging the phases? Also, is your new PLM located in the same location as the old one? With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.13 (Beta) Is Now Available
Hi Wayne, The main thing is that the program evaluated to false for some reason. There could be two cases: 1. For some reason the event did not reach ISY ... check your error logs and make sure you do not have UDQFull errors (if you have them just prior to Start, that's OK .. only those that are not close to Start) 2. The program actually turned false because it was false I would start with 1. With kind regards, Michel

Running Homeseer w/2414u PLC concurrently w/ISY 99i and PLM
Hello wth18359, I would not recommend it mostly because ISY does not know anything about it. What you might want to do instead is: 1. Register your devices using Remove existing links 2. Use the HomeSeer plugin for ISY (http://www.bobsplace.com/ISYInsteon/) This way, all INSTEON configuration/management is done via ISY while all ISY events are published to HomeSeer. With kind regards, Michel

Why do I get this log error when system "beeps" switches
Hello Lou, -1 means Request Failed. Unlike device communication errors, -1 means that the device returned a NACK. You might want to use the Event Viewer on Device Communications level and capture the traffic. With kind regards, Michel

Release 3.1.13 (Beta) Is Now Available
Hello Illusion, This is quite odd as 3.1.13 has gone through rigorous testing and seems to be quite stable. Can you tell me: 1. Whether or not you have the ELK module? 2. Do you use any mobile apps and, if so, which one? 3. What is your PLM's version? Hello Wayne, The fact that you have a Wait in there is a suspect. As you may know, Wait is interrupt-able. This means that while Waiting, if the condition turns to false then the program stops. The best way to test this program would be to temporarily add notifications before and after the Wait. With kind regards, Michel

XML Parse errors?
Hi munch, Thank you. This is a combination of issues relating to the way NetGear (or similar) routers manage DHCP reservation and how 2.8.16 responds to those anomalies. If you don't mind, please upgrade to 3.1.13 which includes workarounds for these types of situations. With kind regards, Michel

ISY-26 Problem
Hello mdcastle, If your ISY's firmware version is at 2.7.15, then please try the following URL: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/admin.jnlp Once loaded, click on the Add button on ISY Finder and then enter the HTTPS IP address for your isy (i.e https://your.isy.ip.address) and retry. Also, what do you see when you to go Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info? With kind regards, Michel

New 99i owner, possible bad device
Hi cul8rv8, Sincere apologies for tardy reply and the inconvenience. It does look like that your device is not functioning properly. The initial boot up sequence should be: 1. Power 2. RX/TX 3. Short MEM 4. Power only Is this the sequence you see? With kind regards, Michel

Insteon Energy Display - ISY support?
Hi johnnyt, this is great. Thanks so very much for sharing. andyf0, yes, the batteries are going to drain if we have to query them every few minutes. Personally, I really do not think this is a good solution for temperature reading as it has ill-effect on the overall performance of your system. With kind regards, Michel

receiving motion detection from CCTV analog cameras
Hello rtp130, It all depends on what the camera can do based on the motion. If it can call a URL, then you can do anything you want. On the other hand, if the motion triggers something on a web server/mail server, then we need to figure out how to extract that information in ISY. With kind regards, Michel

Insteon Energy Display - ISY support?
Hello Teken, Yes, you can achieve all of those. The major blocking issues for us are: 1. The device has to be polled frequently ... this means that now all your programs might have a delay of (number of energy displays * polling execution delay) at every (number of energy displays * polling intervals). To me, this does not make a good system especially since all other programs are now blocked till the query is done. 2. The display can only be linked to iMeter Solo ... while, at the same time, we cannot read anything from the display that we cannot read from the iMeter Solo ... so, the query problem is now multiplied by the number of iMeter Solos We could potentially add simple temp reading query for the display and leave out everything else. Would that work for everyone? With kind regards, Michel
