  1. Hello remedy1234, It's always best to use your own SMTP server as our default may impose limits. From the logs, there are many errors for gmail.coim ... (host unknown). With kind regards, Michel
  2. Hello saflight, It's always best to use your own mail server. You can also get a free gmail account and use that instead of the default. The problem with default is that it goes through ISP which might impose monthly limits. With kind regards, Michel
  3. Hi Harold, I am not sure what you can do with terminal emulator if you do not have your password. I think the best thing to do would be to do a factory reset: press and hold the little reset button for at least 30 seconds. If this does not bring the unit back on the network, then there's something else wrong. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi Harold, The cables are simple/regular Cat5 (Ethernet) cables. One gets connected from Port A to your PLM and the other gets connected from the network jack to your router. With kind regards, Michel
  5. Harold, Is this ISY26 or ISY99? In either case, I think it would be best to schedule a call with our tech support team to walk you through it. In the meantime: 99i Quick Start Guide: http://www.universal-devices.com/docs/i ... kstart.pdf With kind regards, Michel
  6. Hi mlennox, 1. Please respond to good questions by BrianH 2. I do not think your unit is fried. This said, I think you may have an infinite loop somewhere! My main issue is the UDQ Full for IPOLLWAKEUP. This queue is used to send commands that are run by the Network Module Thread including: 1. WeatherBug 2. Network Resources The main questions I have: 1. Do you have WeatherBug Module installed and, if so, what's the polling interval? 2. Do you call any Network Resources from your programs and, if so, how often? Are you sure you do not have infinite loops? With kind regards, Michel
  7. Hello mlennox, It would be great if you could send us your Error Log (support@universal-devices.com). With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hello gsownsby, Apologies for the inconvenience. The fact that you can only access your ISY via a specific interface (your PC's WiFi card) tells me that perhaps ISY has a static IP address which is specific to your computer's network. If this is the case, the first thing we have to do is put ISY on DHCP so that you can access it from all your network attached computers/devices. Java socket error means that ISY is no longer responding. This could be very much related to the above but please do let me know: 1. Do you ELK security system and do you use ISY to communicate with it? 2. What's your ISY's firmware version? With kind regards, Michel
  9. Hi matapan, Do you have our WSDK documentation? With kind regards, Michel
  10. Hello matapan, The reason is - and as you noted - if you were to use this device somewhere else, then it would still have links left from ISY. So, when you delete a device, ISY tries to remove all ISY related links. If you feel you are not ever going to use this device, then you can ignore the instructions .. the only issue will be that ISY will try each command 3 times and thus it might take a little longer to be removed. With kind regards, Michel
  11. Hi Eric, ISY Finder has always been there and I am not sure which URL you had been going to before so that you were not getting the ISY Finder (it is a bug!!!). If you do not want the ISY Finder, the only choice is the applet (running through a browser). With kind regards, Michel
  12. Hi dpower, 1. No ... for multicast, you have to ensure that the end device is always registering to the multicast group as a member. This is independent of its IP; it just means that that device will always respond to the multicast signals. I am not sure how you can do this on a PC without a dedicated software that ensures group membership 2. Yes/No ... you can do two things: a. Static IP address for ISY b. DHCP reservation for your ISY in your router With kind regards, Michel
  13. Hello dpower, You are correct: the label should not be called host but Group Address. For instance, UPnP multicast address is: Group: "239.255.255.250" Port: 1900 With kind regards, Michel
  14. Hello mjtyson, Thanks so very much for the update and I am so very glad you got everything to work! With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hello dpower, UDP is not a broadcast protocol in and of itself and thus will require a host. The difference between UDP and TCP is that UDP is connectionless and thus does not have the TCP overhead (as you mentioned). If EventGhost supports Multicast (i.e. it belongs to a group), then you can use Multicast instead of UDP. With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hello DEHAlten, Unfortunately this is not possible right now. The only thing you can do is to send yourself a notification at the end of the query. With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello mjtyson, It's always best to do manual port forwarding in the router (do NOT use File | Enable Internet Access). The reason is that if a) your router is rebooted or if your ISP changes the IP, then you won't be able to access ISY. ( does not apply to you since you already have a dynamic DNS account but (a) does happen quite frequently. With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hello DEHAlten, Are you looking for notification for device communication errors? If so, unfortunately we do not yet support this features. Is there any specific reasons you want to query all your devices twice per day? With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hi again nlaredo! Thanks so very much for the clarifications. I have already sent an email to SmartHome to see if they have an updated documentation for this device of which we had not been notified. We shall keep you posted if anything comes up. You can have KeypadLinc devices turn scenes off (and not on) but setting the Button Toggle Mode (to Non Toggle Off). With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hi Illusion, No, based on Greg's excellent detective work, we know exactly where the problem is. We are just trying to figure out why we did this in the first place. The only other alternative is that ISY should reload all the programs which might take a while. We are investigating. With kind regards, Michel
  21. nlaredo, The naming might be misleading but there is no distinction between the two from INSTEON/ISY perspective. I am not aware of any parameters that could be set on the SwitchLinc timer except those that are set locally. I still do not understand which part is wishful thinking. If your SwitchLinc timer turns off (after the timer is set), it should send an off command to all responders in the scene. If it does not, please do let us know and we'll take it up with SmartHome
  22. Hello Greg, Thanks so very much for the detailed experimentation. We will have to look at why program states are turned to false. We shall keep you posted with what we find. Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel
  23. Hello MV, Go to Program Summary tab and make sure you do not have Run at Startup enabled. With kind regards, Michel
  24. Hello everyone, If the difference in change in time is more than a few minutes, ISY clears all run times and starts fresh. So, this is normal. What's not normal is if any of your programs using Sunrise/Sunset did not work. If that's the case: 1. Please make sure your programs are not in a folder with conditions 2. Please copy/paste (right mouse click | copy to clipboard) the program and send it to support@universal-devices.com With kind regards, Michel
  25. Hi Matt, Unfortunately there are no means of figuring out which program impacts devices without going to the Program Details tab and doing an explicit Find/Replace (right mouse click on My Programs and then choose Find/Replace). With kind regards, Michel
