Hello bjackson, What you need to do is to configure your router with a dynamic DNS service and this way you will not depend on IP addresses. Most Dynamic DNS services are free: no-ip.com dyndns.com With kind regards, Michel

Thank so so very much Illusion! With kind regards, Michel

Hi Gary, You might want to take a look at this post: http://forum.universal-devices.com/view ... highlight= With kind regards, Michel

Hello Mr. Zulich, Apologies for the inconvenience. The first thing we have to do is to figure out why your programs are not saving and, then, we should upgrade you to 2.7.4 which might be just a "little" less sensitive to firewall software. Please note that disabling firewalls usually does not fix the problem. You will have to actually put ISY on the trusted list the instructions for which are different for each software. You will find the instructions for most firewalls here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=3 If this does not work, please do be kind enough to contact us (http://www.universal-devices.com/contact.htm) and we'll contact you to walk you through it. With kind regards, Michel

Hi NewTech, Unfortunately we do not keep logs of system configuration changes. This said, however, we do keep track of all device status changes and "what" changed them. You can view the log by going to Tools | Log. You can sort/filter the log as you wish to hone in on those devices/dates you are interested in. With kind regards, Michel

Hello danswatman, Thanks so very much for the update. I have reported it to SH ... hopefully they'll be able to clarify it soon. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Dan, Thanks so very much. I am sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the label on the RL. Unfortunately the solution is not that simple since communications modes are not per device but per ISY. i.e. Device Reported makes ISY use device reported settings for all devices. If we are lucky, this would work OK but we cannot count on luck. With kind regards, Michel
-
danswatman, Thanks so very much. I should be happy that we found the problem but this is not good news since some of the RLs actually do not respond to i2 commands even though they report i2. Would you be kind enough to: 1. Let me know firmware version as ISY reports it 2. Please make sure you go back to the automatic mode when you are done programming your RLs With kind regards, Michel

Hello Illusion, You are correct. This data is not available yet through the current interface. We would have to read multiple sources to make it available. With kind regards, Michel

NewTech, yes, that sounds fair. Thanks so very much, With kind regards, Michel

Hi NewTech, I think it's time we schedule a call for your with our tech support. I do not wish you to spend/waste more of your time going back and forth on the forum. Would you be kind enough to submit a ticket at http://www.universal-devices.com/contact.htm and we'll schedule a call for you. With kind regards, Michel Michel, Well, you are sort of correct. It DID take me about 4 tries to get the RL to link to a scene. And, I've only been able to link to one scene. All other attempts have failed! Now an observation/question for you... Buttons 4-6 on my RL are NOT included in any scenes. Instead they are set to activate programs in the ISY. After a factory reset shouldn't those buttons still control the program in the ISY since they were never removed from the ISY's "If" statement? The RL also was never removed from the ISY either!
-
Hi NewTech, Does this mean that at the least we can now add RL to scenes without issues? If so, we have actually made progress and then we can work on figuring out the ramp rate issue. Am I correct? With kind regards, Michel

Hello Redrox, I do understand your frustration because so are we. This said, however, I do take issue with "Most of everything else just doesn't work right with the ISY". From our perspective, most everything else is limited to: 1. SHN devices for which we have not been able to find a solution no matter what we have tried 2. IRLinc Transmitter 3. SeriaLinc If there are other devices that you were planning to integrate with ISY and that do not work, I would be very eager to know about them. If you are looking for more integration with SHN devices, you may want to use SHN's EZServe. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Joe, Yes, I do remember this problem as well. Thanks. NewTech, would you be kind enough to retry and let me know? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello NewTech, It seems that for some reason your RL stops responding. I still believe there's something that causing signal interference. Do you have any motion sensors or thermostats? If so, do you have the same problem with them? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello NewTech, Good to hear back from you! Please do test the AccessPoints and let me know what you find. With kind regards, Michel

Hello skunkiechris, Thanks for the update. Although we did not receive the email but using the station works fine here. I'm a little troubled that you "have to" use static IP address to get this to work. When you get a chance - and if you feel like it - would you be kind enough to revert to DHCP to verify that this was indeed the issue. If so, then you might have a defective unit which I would like to replace immediately. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello all, Apologies for a tardy reply. It seems that in both cases, ISY fails to set MSB to 0x0F. To me, this is a very ominous sign that, perhaps, the new RLs do not respond to i1 mode messages for programming. Would any of you be kind enough to go to Link Management | Advanced Options and check "Device Reported" and retry (please do make sure to revert to Automatic at the end of this experiment)? Thanks and with kind regards, Michel
-
Hello NewTech, I can't help to wonder if the problem is with the AccessPoints. I keep noticing all those ACKs which are not followed by SRX messages. This basically means that ISY keeps trying 3 times but the RL never responds back. Do you have any other RF device such as Motion Sensors? If so, how are they behaving? I cannot believe that all your RLs would exhibit the same defect and thus we have to look for another source for these issues. I would start by removing ALL your Access Points except ONE hooked up to the PLM. I would try the experiment with the RL next to the PLM/Access Point (make sure to factory reset your RL first). If it fails again, I would swap the AccessPoint with another one. If it fails again, then I would assume that the problem is not the Access Point either. But, let's start from there and then we'll slowly figure out what could be causing these issues. With kind regards, Michel

Hi Bob, Yes, indeed we found the bug: it was adding the module if and only if you didn't have any other modules installed. This is already fixed and shall be included in 2.7.5. Apologies for the inconvenience, With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello Tim, This is indeed quite odd since I just tested this with a completely blank unit and it works fine. If you have a remote access URL, would you be kind enough to send it to us (support@universal-devices.com) along with your credentials (please reset to admin/admin). With kind regards, Michel I installed 2.7.4, cleared the Java cache and still do not have the Electricity Tab in Config., System and Climate are the only two tabs. "About" shows 2.7.4 and Weather Info. There is not an Electricity option on the ISY's HTML page either. What can I try next? Thanks, Tim
-
Hello skunkiechris, Can you send us (support@universal-devices.com) the station you are using. The problem is NOT DHCP but the DNS. I think ISY is not able to resolve the hostname (weatehrbug.com) to an IP address and thus all the issues. With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello ergodic, Thanks for the update ... I have to consider this a bug since this use case is NOT allowed from within the Admin Console. Please do keep an eye and let me know if this happens again and under what circumstances. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel
-
Hello skunkiechris, Apologies for the inconvenience. As Dan suggested, it seems that your ISY is not able to resolve names to IP addresses. Can you synchronize with NTP? Do your notifications work (if any)? With kind regards, Michel
-
Hello danswatman, Thanks for the logs. They indicate that ISY cannot even communicate with your RL. Are you sure your RL is in Programming mode and that it is within the range of an Access Point? To test, click any buttons on your RL and notice the LED on the Access Points and the PLM; make sure they blink. If not, then, in all likelihood, we either have a battery issue or a signal issue. Rich, I must humbly ask the same questions: are you aware that your MS should be in programming mode before you can add it to any scenes? With kind regards, Michel
