I cannot clear log file
Hello fraziel, What firmware version is running on your ISY? Please clear your Java cache: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... Java_Cache If this does not help, then please reboot your ISY. With kind regards, Michel

Icon Appliance Adapter gone bad?
Hi Richard, It could the be the device or it could be communications. Would you be kind enough to move your device closer to the PLM (or even right on top of it) and retry? With kind regards, Michel

Why does my ISY hate me? Does yours hate you?
Hello frustratednon-geek, I think everyone would feel the same as you do when having to work on something so simple for 12 hours. From what I gather, you have recently moved your PLM. The location of PLM, in relationship with your other devices, is very important. Also, if your PLM is plugged into the same outlet as a router, a computer monitor, your home entertainment system, phone battery charger, etc. you will experience communications errors to no end. Please note that when confronted with communications errors, Restoring Devices or PLM - in all likelihood - will make the problems worse: ISY won't be able to program the devices correctly and thus you will have other unexplained behavior. So, please do be kind enough to go back to the original location and then we can find what's causing the other problems. With kind regards, Michel

Any support for ezuirt
Gentstr, Unfortunately we do not have any plans whatsoever in supporting EZUIRT. We shall support IRLinc Transmitter though in our release 3.0. With kind regards, Michel

EZX10RF
Hi Joe, The answer is still "unofficial"! Unofficial means that you can try Link Management | Add X10 Device to EZX10RF menu item. Whether or not it works is purely dependent on the firmware you have on your EZX10RF. In short, we cannot guarantee that it would work. With kind regards, Michel

Been away for a long time
Hi Frank, Welcome back and I am very happy to see you here again! Instead of answering your questions - and with your permission - I would like to instead posit the order in which you should tackle the migration: 1. Back up your ISY-26 2. Connect your PLM to your ISY-99i 3. Install the latest firmware (I recommend 2.7.5 to be out over the weekend) on your ISY-99i 4. Restore your backup (from step 1) unto your ISY-99i (File -> Restore ISY) 5. Since the restoration does not restore IP settings, you might want to redo your IP/port forwarding setup if any Now, to your INSTEON questions: 1. Yes, ISY can now sort the order in which buttons should be added 2. I am still running 58 and, in comparison with other versions, I find it quite stable. If you do not have any comm/status issues, I do not recommend changing your PLM. This said, however, if you are planning to add more devices and your link count is greater than 417 (you can count using Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status / Info), then I do recommend getting a new PLM. Again: welcome back! With kind regards, Michel

Setting up thermostat scenes via ISY
Hello mikewu99, In release 2.7.5 (to be out over this weekend hopefully) let's you control heat/cool setpoints separately and individually without having to change the mode. With kind regards, Michel Reliability. Using programs requires the thermostats, the KPL, the ISY, and the modem to all be functioning correctly to use the KPL to control the thermostats. Using scenes only the KPL and the thermostats need to be working. The other issue is convenience. If I understand the other thermostat threads correctly, if I want to change both the heat and cool setpoints in auto mode I would need to go to cool mode, set the cool setpoint, go to heat mode, set the heat setpoint, then go back to auto mode (or is that just for querying the setpoints?). If I use scenes I just activate the scene corresponding to the conditions I want to set. Anyway, if you count votes I add +2 for the improved thermostat support (since I now own two ISYs I get two votes )...

Setting up thermostat scenes via ISY
Hi, As Mike suggested, we do have this feature on our list of todos and the only reason it has a low priority is that our new GUI should fix the issue (which has a medium priority). With kind regards, Michel

Scene Problem with KeyPadLinc
Hello pdxcav, Apologies for the inconvenience. Two questions: 1. What firmware version is your ISY 2. Have you checked the on level for the load for that button? i.e. click on that button within the scene and then check the on level for the load to your right With kind regards, Michel

Question about WB updates
Tim, I do also recommend getting a new station. Furthermore, just to be sure, check your logs for -1400x errors. If you have many of them, then it might be that ISY cannot get access to the Internet. With kind regards, Michel

Program Bahaviour
deeepdish, Long time no see! I am going to leave the philosophical discussion to Chris. For your specific program you can solve it by adding an Off in the Else path. Perhaps () for atomic operations would be a good compromise but, like Chris, I believe the way this is handled right now is the correct way. With kind regards, Michel

ISY99 Question
Hello pacificsloop, My pleasure and apologies for a tardy reply. 1) We do have this a requirement to support EZRain timers; the priority is low 2) Yes, ISY can turn on/off each zone 3) You can only use ISY to link zones to other ISNTEON devices (not programs and inhibit functions) 4) Yes, you can link IR link groups to INSTEON devices including KPL buttons With kind regards, Michel

Question about using enable/disable Run at Startup
Hi Tim, First of all, I do not think you would want to check Catchup Schedules at Restart. This was put in there only for backward compatibility with older installation. What this does is that it runs all the schedules for that day. So, your 3:00 AM coffee pot program will run at start up. Secondly, using an exact time for sensitive programs is not advised. It's always best to use a duration even if only for a minute. All and all, I think if you uncheck the catchup schedules at restart, you will be OK. With kind regards, Michel

ISY99 Question
Hi pacificsloop, Thanks so very much for your interest. IRLinc - yes IRLinc Transmitter - no EZRain - depends on your EZRain's firmware. The latest usually works. Please note that ISY cannot program EZRain timers nor can it call them. With kind regards, Michel

Best way to delay irrigation
Hi Chris, I think the delay is the best way. Unfortunately ISY cannot maintain the state of programs upon reboot and there's always the possibility of losing the state if there's a power outage. But, for now, the delay is the best way. With kind regards, Michel

KPL buttons gone??
Hi Tim, We have started a root cause analysis on this issue. It would be great if you could enable internet access on your unit and send the following to support@universal-devices.com 1. Your URL 2. Your credentials (reset to admin/admin) 3. The address of the device with missing buttons I do apologize for the inconvenience and I do very much appreciate your help in finding the root cause. With kind regards, Michel

Double tap doesn't work
Hi craigf, The one thing that sticks out immediately is that your timer program without any conditions will always evaluate to TRUE. With kind regards, Michel

Put lights back the way they were
Hi Chris, This is actually a requested feature which we have on our requirements list with a low priority. Personally, I think this is a very good feature. Let me see if we can bump up the priority. With kind regards, Michel

Zigbee and Insteon simultaneously
Hello Greg, Excellent question. As you may know, Zigbee comes in many different profiles one of which is Home Automation. Unfortunately, though, there are NOT any home automation enabled Zigbee products that are interoperable (unlike ZWave). As such, our Zigbee integration right now revolves around SEP and not Home Automation. We will have units that support both INSTEON and Zigbee SEP at the same time. When more Zigbee HA devices are available, then we shall surely support it. With kind regards, Michel

KPL buttons gone??
Hello Tim, Apologies ... can you count the number of the same KPL buttons in the table? And, if so, do they match the number of buttons on your device (6 button KPL = 5 nodes; 8 button KPL = 8 nodes)? With kind regards, Michel

KPL buttons gone??
Hi Tim, Apologies for not being clearer. Basically, what we want to do is to make sure they are actually still registered in ISY. The best way to do this is to click on the Network Node (to your left). When done, you will see a table with a list of devices. If you have 2.7.3 and above, all your buttons will be listed in that table. To make sure you still have those buttons, click on the Address column so that you can sort them. Once sorted, you can count how many have the same address with each one having a different suffix corresponding to the button number. With kind regards, Michel Sorry, I have not been able to figure out what you are asking me to do. Can you give me a little detail? Also, for what it is worth, I noticed that one of the KPL Buttons which is missing is still listed in a scene. Thanks, Tim

How do I make a conditional program work?
Hi Eug, Yes, that's clear: controlling devices and adding to ISY does NOT require links in the PLM since they are all direct commands. Getting statuses from devices OR controlling scenes requires links in the PLM. If the PLM has no links regardless of what you do, then there's an issue with the PLM. With kind regards, Michel

How do I make a conditional program work?
Hi Eug, Then I would suspect you have a defective PLM. To make sure this is the case, please try adding a device to your ISY and retry. If you still get no records, then it's the PLM. With kind regards, Michel
