Problem with Primay load controled by Secondary KPL button!
Illusion, If you do not have a slider for the load when the sub button is selected, then for sure you do NOT have a KPL version that supports this feature (or we have a bug). With kind regards, Michel

Internet access defaults to 'Disabled' after power failure
Kalid43, I am so very sorry to hear this. I need to make sure I understand the issue since ISY is supposed to restore previous setting upon reboot. So, are you saying that: a. You are using File->Enable Internet Access AND b. After power outage, if you go to Help->About, you see Internet Access: disabled? If so, what version of ISY are you running. If not, then please try: 1. Assign a static IP address for your ISY 2. Create a manual port forwarding rule in your router (as Mike suggested) Thanks so very much, with kind regards, Michel

KPL Countdown Timer
Hello NJ_Mark, Thanks so very much for the feedback. To be honest, we had no clue that KPL sub buttons can be programmed as responders. I think the main reason for not even considering such a scenario was because we tested them as a controllers but all buttons send out group 1 (as if you pressed the load button). Now that you have brought this up, would you be kind enough to confirm that these buttons can NOT be controllers? We shall fix this in our next (or possibly the official 2.7). Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel quote="NJ_Mark"]I've recently purchased and installed an ISY 99, and it is as awesome as everyone said! However I noticed that support for the KPL Countdown Timer seems a bit lacking (or I am missing something) With the KPL timer you have the ability to have individual times (buttons) act as responders to specific Insteon controls. For example I have a KLP Timer in one room, in another room I have a regular KPL where the secondary buttons are labeled 10 min, 30 min, 60 min, etc. each of those buttons will then activate the corresponding buttons on the KPL timer (and of course the load attached to the KPL timer). I was able to set this up before I purchased the ISY using the press and hold method, and when my ISY crawled the network it discovered those links and they appear to behave properly. However on the ISY admin console the KPL timer appears only as a single responding device (ie it does not acknowledge the existence of the individual buttons.) Given controls available on the ISY admin console it does not look like i could define a similar scenario using the ISY to create the links. Also if I were to restore the device from a the ISY, will my devices be programmed properly. Once again thanks for a great device. I have been lurking on this forum for quite a while before purchasing the ISY and have been impressed with the way the staff at UD respond to questions and suggestions. That was a big reason I chose purchase my ISY. (Well that and the cool features )

Problem with Primay load controled by Secondary KPL button!
Illusion, Aha! What version of KPL do you have. Only KPL versions 1.6 and above support this feature AND none support OFF. So, what you would have to do is to use an onlevel of 2%. We still do not know if this has been fixed in later releases of KPLs (if any). With kind regards, Michel

Support for INSTEON Wireless Motion Sensor?

Release 2.6.6 is now available
bpwwer, Ok. Thanks so very much for the update. It might be the case and hopefully the new one will solve all of these issues. With kind regards, Michel A quick update to note that it wasn't the upgrade itself that failed. It seems there may be a heat related issue with the network hardware itself. After sitting unplugged all night, I plugged it back in on a whim and it worked ... for a little while.

Hi Bob, Would you happen to have an extra PLM? What happens if you leave your PLM unplugged (you will get the RX light solid on but everything else non INSTEON related should work). With kind regards, Michel A quick update to note that it wasn't the upgrade itself that failed. It seems there may be a heat related issue with the network hardware itself. After sitting unplugged all night, I plugged it back in on a whim and it worked ... for a little while.

how can I use the isy-99 from an external control program
Hello Schenkl, Our web services SDK comprises a WSDL (which is in ISY's firmware) and a developers guide which is not completed yet. As far as WSDL, all you have to do is to point your IDE to http://your.isy.ip-address/services.wsdl. For instance, in Visual Studio, you would use "Add Service Reference" and for Eclipse, you would use "Add a Web Services Client Proxy". The developers guide should be ready within a few days at which time it will be posted in the same forum. If you are interested in our JSDK (Java SDK), you will have to wait for our official 2.7 release (hopefully within 2 weeks). Please do not hesitate to contact us in case we can be of further assistance, With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.6 is now available
Bob, Unfortunately, it seems that ISY's network PHY is not working. Please verify your shipping address to support@universal-devices.com and another unit shall be sent to you immediately. With sincere apologies for the inconvenience, With kind regards, Michel Both MEM and ERR are flashing on 2 seconds off 3 seconds. The link light on the ethernet port is lit. After a power cycle, all the lights flash and it seems like it is communication with the PLM because it's light and other insteon devcices' lights are flashing too. This happens for about 1 minute and then it goes back to flashing the mem/err lights as above. It doesn't appear to have requested an address from the DHCP server at any point. Ahh, connection up the serial port provides a bit more info. it's displaying "network cable disconnected or DHCP server error" over and over. Resetting the router/dhcp server makes no difference Manually configuring the network on the ISY makes no difference Replacing the network cable makes no difference. Switching to a different port on the router makes no difference.

Hi bpwwer, I am so very sorry to hear this. Please do not factory reset ... what we need to know is the status of the LEDs on top of ISY. Again, I am so very sorry ... With kind regards, Michel

How To: Enable Internet Access
jswedberg, First and foremost, please DISABLE the port forwarding on port 80 immediately. This is a security risk as others can sniff your credentials. Please only use HTTPS (port 443) for remote access. File->Enable Internet Access attempts to do what you have already done (automatically). As such, you are all set; please do not worry about File->Enable Internet Access. With kind regards, Michel

Can't login to ISY-26?
d_l, Thanks so very much for your input and guidance. keribi, I am so very sorry for the trouble you are having. For ISY-26, the cable is not a null modem cable. It's a special cable ... you do not have it? If you can get to the Admin console, then it means that you are on the same subnet 255.255.255.0 but not on the same network ... so, the only way to fix this is through the com port and hyperterminal: Baud 115200 Stop bits 1 Parity None Databits 8 If you cannot find your cable, please do let us know and we'll send you one (support@universal-devices.com). With kind regards, Michel

Release 2.6.5 is now available (RC4)
clark21236, Thanks so very much for the update. The reason is that most firewall software do not complain about normal ports such as 80/443. With kind regards, Michel

how can I use the isy-99 from an external control program
Hello schenkl, You can use our JSDK and WSDK (web services) to write network applications that talk with ISY over the network. JSDK is pretty well established, is in Java and is released with each official release. WSDK is ISY services in WSDL, is brand new, and the first version of which shall be released in a couple of days. If you have specific questions vis-a-vis developing applications for ISY, please do be kind enough to visit our developers forum: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=2 . With kind regards, Michel

Cannot access ISY-26 from laptop wirelessly?
keribi, This is quite strange! 1. Would you be kind enough to clear the Java cache on your laptop? 2. Would you please make sure you do not have ports 443 or 80 routed to any other device on your network With kind regards, Michel

Remotelincs - gone crazy
Hello Candide, As far as Managed By, it only means that they are both controllers for the same scene. But, they are not linked to one another (since they are controllers only). As far as the blinking, would you make sure that all the devices in your scene respond? It may well be possible that one (or more) of devices in your scene (button 3) are not responding and thus the blinking. With kind regards, Michel
