Port Disappeared
Hi Richard, To access from outside, you will use port 443 which is HTTPS (unless you want to change it). So, you would access it like: https://your.external-ip.address This change was made so that you could get to your ISY using any mobile phone. If you want to get to the Admin Console, all you have to do is to add /admin to the end of the URL: http://your.isy.address/admin With kind regards, Michel

Port Disappeared
Hello Richard, Indeed this is the case with the new firmware: the port number is for HTTP has changed to 80 (which is the default port for HTTP and thus not shown). The default port for HTTPS is 443 and thus not shown. Can you get to your ISY using the URL on About (without the port number)? With kind regards, Michel

KPL Countdown Timer
Hello jwagner010, Yes, I just verified this problem. We shall start working on it ... as I mentioned before, this one has been quite tricky. I am hoping to have it included in our next drop. With kind regards, Michel

KPL Countdown Timer
Hello again, We are working on allowing the buttons to be responders in scenes (having a hard time) ... are there other issues that you are experiencing? With kind regards, Michel

Remote Access Error
Hello jwagner010, I totally understand. But, in all cases, if you change ISY's secure port (from 443 to some unknown port such as 8443) then you will experience less of these problems. With kind regards, Michel

Programming ramp for ICON
Hi Walter, Is this a switch or a dimmer. If it's an ICON dimmer, then it does have adjustable ramping time. If it is a relay, then it only has on/off states and thus you cannot dim/brighten it regardless. You can always have a program that does that but the device has to support dimming. With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
Hi SysIntegrated, Yes, you can factory reset your KPL, and then right mouse click on any of its buttons and then choose Restore Device. With kind regards, Michel

Can't login to ISY-26
ctviggen, It seems you have an older version of the firmware. Please try: http://www.universal-devices.com/99i For your reference, unplugging/plugging ISY back in has the same effect as pressing the reset button. With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
SysIntegrated, This is rather strange ... I am actually running out of ideas! What happens if you just remove your Access Points? Would your SWLs even respond? With kind regards, Michel

Enable Internet Access
Hello James, If your router is not UPnP enabled, then File->Enable Internet Access will not work which I think is the case now. This said, however, you can still enable internet access manually by forwarding port 443 (unless you want to change it) to your ISY's IP address. you can find port forwarding instructions for almost any type of router at http://portforward.com . With kind regards, Michel

Router has new subnet
Hello aanthony, Long time no see! The first thing is to reboot your ISY (unless you have 2.6.4 and above) ... this will make ISY ask for a new IP address. When this is done, then ISY should automatically show up on your network neighborhood or be accessible through http://www.universal-devices.com/99i . To telnet, first you have to have ISY's IP address and then: 1. Go to command prompt (start->Run->cmd) 2. if you have 2.6.4 and above then type: telnet your.isy.ip.address 3. if you have 2.6.3 and below then type: telnet you.isy.ip.address 126 With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
SysIntegrated, Very strange!!! Could it be that perhaps this SWL/KPL combination have a higher ramp rate assigned? i.e. in the Admin Console, under the scene, if you click on the KPL, to you right you'll see on level/ramp rate for the responders. Is the ramp rate 0? With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
Hello SysIntegrated, I think it's the SWL since it behaves the same in all scenes. With kind regards, Michel
-
Unexpected delay between lights in scene
SysIntegrated, No, this is not normal for Insteon unless: 1. You have a defective device 2. The ramp rate is set to 1 second or more 3. Relays usually take a little longer I do think that you have a defective device; is it an ApplianceLinc? With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
Hello SysIntegrated, First of all, when you physically click a controller in a scene (such as clicking a KPL button), ISY is NOT directing the traffic: communication takes place between devices themselves. As of right now, I think the issue is that specific device. To ascertain, would you be kind enough to put that device in another scene as a responder and see if it also exhibits the same slowness in that scene? With kind regards, Michel

Unexpected delay between lights in scene
Hi SysIntegrated, What happens if you turn on the same scene from ISY? Do you still notice the delay? With kind regards, Michel

SWL overheating
Hi Drew, SWLs get really hot if they are driving loads equal or higher than their supported wattage. With kind regards, Michel

Remote Access Error
Hello jwagner010, I apologize for the inconvenience. Two questions: 1. Are you using port 443 (HTTPS)? 2. Is it possible that you have any other devices on your network to which port 443 has been forwarded? Also, if you wish, you can send your URL to tech@universal-devices.com and let us take a look. With kind regards, Michel

iPhone App: Looking for beta testers...
Hi Dave, Ok. You are 100% correct! With kind regards, Michel Great to know "If iPhone goes to sleep, ISY does not get an ack to its heartbeat and thus expires the subscription anyway." but I'd still like to be a good upstanding citizen (umm program) and unsubscribe if I know for sure that the device is going into power saver mode... not to mention I have a thread that I'm sure I'd need to terminate as well so why not do the right/polite thing.... Upon wake-up I'll need to perform a 'fresh/full subscribe' since I won't have any idea what changes may have taken place to the devices since the device went to sleep... I gotta tell you I'm having so much fun with this... my wife is about to throw ME the ISY and my iPod out of the house any day now... Must learn to control myself must learn to control... LOL Dave

Can an ISY-26 have more than one SSL certificate installed?
Hello Dave, Unfortunately, that does not work yet because we do not yet support virtual hosting. It's possibly something that we may consider in the near future. As far as the web browser complaints, the encryption indeed does take place correctly. The only thing would be for you to check the certificate to make sure it's indeed issues by yourself. Other than that, I would not at all worry about security. With kind regards, Michel

iPhone App: Looking for beta testers...
Dave, Excellent! One comment: You really do not have to unsubscribe! If iPhone goes to sleep, ISY does not get an ack to its heartbeat and thus expires the subscription anyway. The only thing you would have to do is to subscribe again. Perhaps we should have a resubscribe call to let you know if you still have a valid subscription. With kind regards, Michel

KPL Countdown Timer
Hello NJ_Mark, Thanks so very much for sharing this information with us. So, in short, they can only work as responders. If they are cross linked with another KPL, they cannot control the backlight state of the other KPL's buttons, right? With kind regards, Michel
