  1. AD8BC, Thanks so very much for the offer; it'd be a pleasure and I can actually learn something new. Thanks again and with kind regards, Michel Michel, are you in Encino (where the contact address for UD is)? If so, next time I get out to Riverside, if I can get the OK from the customer, I will offer you a first class tour of one of the facilities that I programmed and commissioned (I can't mention the name of the customer here but it could be one of the hubs of one of the three or four shipping companies you use). You are an expert in home automation and I will show you all about industrial automation.
  2. jgraziano, Thanks so very much for the OT! I have always wondered how these systems work and now I can surely appreciate the enormity of what's involved in programming them. With kind regards, Michel
  3. Scott, Great. Thanks ... please keep me posted. With kind regards, Michel
  4. Hi Brignolo, Here's the link to our Wiki site: http://www.universal-devices.com/mwiki/ ... User_Guide . The document will be included in the next drop. With kind regards, Michel
  5. Bill, My pleasure! I cannot even fathom what's it like to program Modicon and Allen Bradley controllers! It must be really involved. Please do let me know if this solution worked for you. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel
  6. Hello Scott, You are 100% correct; we shall rework the packaging as you suggest. Here are the known issues/bugs with Linux/Fedora 7 1. Cannot backup your configuration 2. Cannot change the location once the location has been set once 3. Cannot close Safari/IE (MAC has the same issue) As far as your EZRain, please make sure you can link to EZRain first. We have had issues linking to EZxxx devices. I just want to make sure you can link to it before spending all the money on APs (or while you can return them). Is it possible to move your ISY/PLM on the same phase as your EZRain and test it? With kind regards, Michel
  7. AD8BC, Some rules: 1. Adding delays below 3-4 seconds might work intermittently especially if you have devices you can communicate with intermittently 2. Instead of using a Program, create a scene called 911, and put all the devices that you want turned on/off in that scene as responders Here's my setup: If Control 'Entrance KPL A' is switched On And Control 'Entrance KPL A' is not switched Off Then Repeat 65 times Set Scene '911' Fast On Wait 3 seconds Set Scene '911' Fast Off Wait 3 seconds Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action') With kind regards, Michel
  8. Hello Scott, Thanks for the update. Release 2.5 candidate will be out by no later than Thrusday. If don't mind waiting, I'd like to send you that one instead of the Beta. I have already included you in our distribution list. With kind regards, Michel
  9. IndyMike, YES! Thank you so very much. In effect: Chuck's program requires everything to be off and there might actually be a device at 10% which makes the program not run. Chuck, Would you please try IndyMike's suggestion and let me know how it turns out. With kind regards, Michel
  10. Mr. Hartmann, Would you be kind enough to a) reset your userid/pwd to admin/admin and backup your ISY, and c) send your backup to tech@universal-devices.com? I would sincerely appreciate it. With kind regards, Michel
  11. Mr. Norfleet, First of all, apologies for the problems you've been experiencing. 1. The cable to connect to port B comes with ISY. If you have not received it (and thus had to make one up), I do apologize and I would be happy to send you one 2. Our telnet's port is 126. Have you tried telnet: isy.ip.address 126 ? 3. Have you tried http://www.universal-devices.com/MyInsteonISY? what do you see? If you wish, I can call you to go through the possible causes with you. With kind regards, Michel
  12. Kelly, Steven had a defect LL; we sent him a new one to test and that was the case. When we receive the old one, we are going to figure out the root cause. With kind regards,
  13. Mike, No problem! Thanks for the update. With kind regards, Michel Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. You're correct - when I click those buttons, it does fill in the status on the ISY. Doh!
  14. Hi Chuck, Without knowing what's in your All Off scene, it would be pretty difficult to figure out what's causing the issues. As far as delays: If your programs are based on the status of devices in a scene which then try to do something to the same scene, then the best delay would be 500 m.s. times the number of devices in the scene (the amount of time it takes for the group cleanup). If you wish, please let me know what you have in your All Off scene and then we go from there. With kind regards, Michel
  15. Hello DEGoodrich, As I mentioned in response to your email, we do have a conceptual gap with what you are trying to accomplish. Please do let me know when I can call you to resolve these issues. With kind regards, Michel
  16. Hello HC, Unfortunately, you will need 2412S with firm 52 and above. With kind regards, Michel
  17. Hello Kelly, I think we have already covered this on our phone conversation. Please do let me know if you are still experiencing problems. With kind regards, Michel
  18. Hello Tom, Would you please do the following: On the Program Summary Tab 1. Highlight all the rows, click on Disable, and then Apply 2. Highlight all the rows, click on Enable, and then Apply With kind regards, Michel
  19. Hi kcrossley, Would you like me to call you? If so, please send an email to tech@universal-devices.com with your information and then we can schedule a call for today (Sunday) or tomorrow. With kind regards, Michel
  20. Hello Mr. Hartmann, Can you save new programs? Is there a way for me to connect to your ISY (do you have remote access enabled?). With kind regards, Michel
  21. Hello ctviggen, I am so very sorry for the delay in my reply. First, you will have to find your MAC address: 1. Use your browser to go to http://your.isy.ip:port/0/d 2. Look for a tag which looks like uuid:00:03:f4:02:20:7e 3. Your MAC is all the numbers after the uuid:. So, in the above case, the MAC is 00:03:f4:02:20:7e 4. Write down your MAC Secondly, you will have to use telnet to reset your password: 1. Unplug your PLM 2. Using the command prompt on your computer: telnet your.isy.ip 126 3. Enter the MAC exactly as you wrote it down above for both userid/password 4. Wait for approximately 30 seconds and till system comes back with operation successful With kind regards, Michel
  22. Thanks Rand! Bruce, we are going to add NTP service so that ISY's time is synched up with an NTP server (in 2.6). Also, I've noticed that you have not yet upgraded to our 2.5 beta releases. 2.5 official release will be out in the next couple of days so "prepare yourself" for a lot of new functionality and features. With kind regards,
  23. Hello Kelly, You do not have to break out your ladder and tool belt! You have two options: 1. When you link a device, choose one that is already linked to most devices in your house, and then choose the 3rd option: Add devices found in link and keep existing links. This will crawl your network and find all the devices linked in your device 2. You can use the [greenish] light bulb button or Link Management->Add new Insteon device to add your devices using their address I do not recommend option 1 simply because you may have a lot of 1/2 links in there which may cause problems. In all cases, please do be kind enough to send an email to tech@universal-devices.com to get our latest beta release (2.5). With kind regards, Michel
  24. jgraziano, I believe you! Please do let me know the outcome of your endeavors. Thanks so very much, With kind regards, Michel
  25. jgraziano, A controller only has an implied status which is used for some predictive algorithms we've developed. The buttons on RL/CL/KPL should all report back any interactions thereto to ISY. i.e. if you press on any of the KPL/CL/RL buttons, on the corresponding node under My Lighting, you should see their status change. If this does not happen, then, there are MISSING links in the PLM (the PLM should have a slave link to each and every button on CL/RL/KPL). Do you see the status of those buttons change when you physically press them? If not, then we have to figure out why your PLM does not have those links. In most cases, Restore Device fixes this issue but, in the case of RL, you have to make sure RL is put into programming mode. With kind regards, Michel
