  1. Hi guys, I've made a scene with a few lights. Its in the Portal and Alexa. I have it controlled by a KPL button as well When I ask Alexa to turn on the scene 50% she said "X Scene doesn't support that" after a few times she just started saying 'okay' but she'll either turn the scene on or off, no % in between. Can I not turn on a scene a certain percentage?
  2. Works perfectly. thanks again guys. Drew
  3. That totally makes sense. I’ll try it when I get home from work and post again thanks for the tip
  4. I'm sorry, I misunderstood what you meant as far as controls etc. (I wasn't thinking turning a switch on would be a control but it clearly says it in the program I pasted) Should I just make a Routine in Alexa? I Always try to get the ISY to do everything first as its tidier that way (I'm assuming) Drew
  5. No status or controls. (I changed the timer to 10 seconds for testing only) Bathroom Fan - [ID 0022][Parent 0001] If Control 'Bathroom Fan' is switched On Then Wait 10 seconds Set 'Bathroom Fan' Off Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  6. Yes, as a program (just double checked.) I also made the spoken Bathroom Fan Timer as Bathroom Fan was already used by the SWL itself I'd like to simplify that and whenever someone says turn on Bathroom Fan it would trigger the program. I'm hoping this is possible
  7. Hi guys, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post this issue here. If it's not the right forum I apologize. I have a program for a bathroom fan. Switchlinc is turned on and waits 25 minutes then shuts off. This works when I use the SWL but when I tell Alexa to do this it turns on fine but doesn't shut off after the 25 minutes. Clearly the program works. Have a missed something with the ISY Portal? Drew
  8. Hi bmercier Adding another spoken command worked great. I called it 'book room' but was tempted to use 'Libary' a la Fonzie. haha I'd like to know why it didn't recognize library as a command as its not an uncommon word. Would that be something I'd give as feedback to amazon? or an Alexa forum? Regardless, thanks again. Drew
  9. Hi bmercier Sorry for not including that. ISY Category is Device and Alexa Category is Device/Light I should also add Alexa says "Library doesn't support that" when I ask Alexa to dim or turn on library SWL
  10. Hi guys, I have a SWL that wouldn't respond to alexa voice command (Turn on, dim, etc) I went to the ISY Portal and noticed it was saved as a Contact sensor. I switched it to Light and saved, closed, and backed out. I had Alexa browser app forget the device and rediscover it. When I try a voice command same problem. I go back to ISY Portal and find its switched back to Contact sensor. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Drew Upon second glance many lights are listed as contact sensor but they respond to Alexa voice command.
  11. So... Controlling Apple TV once its on seems to be easily handled by the harmony app. Except for an issue where the Harmony clicks two directions to the right when I select one direction right I think I've pretty much got it. I hope my muddled posts help someone else if their trying to do the same thing. Drew
  12. Programs are available. I’ll go to the other part of the forum and ask. Thanks. Drew EDIT: SUCCESS! I went to the Alexa app and made a Routine combining the instead movie scene and the Tuern On Apple TV Downstairs scene, picked the phrase "Movie Time' and voila. One step closer. Now I have to get it to be able to say "Turn on netflix downstairs" and have it select and open the netflix app in Apple TV. Drew
  13. Hi Javi This idea sounds great but when I go to A/V the portal tells me Network resources are not available and State variables are not available. I’m assuming I’ll need to upgrade to 5.xx? Drew
  14. I have version 4.7.3 but its not telling me there's an upgrade. (I don't think I'm qualified for that haha) I read the updates to 5.0.13D and 5.0.14 Would you suggest upgrading to 5.0.13D and then upgrading to 5.0.14? I just don't want to screw up my set up and be worse off. Drew
  15. Hi Paul, Javi pointed me back to your post here. I have everything running fine but I mentioned I'd like to be able to walk into the theatre room and say "Alexa, let's watch a movie" and have the appropriate theatre A/V gear turn on to the right settings and have the lights set to the right scene for watching or pausing a movie (Movie Pause would have the same scene just brighten a bit) Although I've learned quite a bit since getting the Echo Dot I'm not sure what you mean by Jimbos Nodeserver although I think what you are able to do is exactly what I'd like to accomplish. Hi Javi, I'm not sure what you mean by 'assigning the program in the portal as A/V? I looked around the ISY Portal and I don't see anything like that. Am I looking in the wrong spot? Drew
  16. Hi Hurting2Ride The three kitchen lights (I've grouped them in Alexa iPhone app as Kitchen) turn on and off at the same time. The ramp rates are a little different for each of the lights but I assume that's due to my settings for each and the fact that some are LED and others are still tungsten. If anyone thinks of a way to link the two scenes (Alexa and Insteon) that would make this even better. I don't even know where to start. I would love to sit down and say, Alexa Play a Movie and have the lights go to the 'watch movie' setting as well as have the theatre equipment turn on at the same time. Drew
  17. I have Harmony Hub activity (Turn on Apple TV Downstairs, Turn on Blu ray Downstairs, etc.) And I have corresponding ISY scenes that I trigger with a remote or voice command. Can I 'link' the two to be able to say, "Alexa, let's watch a movie" and have it trigger the appropriate harmony hub activity and the matching ISY scene? Drew
  18. Hi Javi thats exactly what I was thinking earlier this week. I haven’t used Groups yet but I will pick away at it this weekend. Drew EDIT: while drinking coffee and screwing around in the Alexa app... mission accomplished. Open Alexa app on iphone Add Group select all lights you want in aforementioned Group Done
  19. Hi guys, Just giving a little nudge asking if anyone knows why I can't brighten/dim some scenes and if theres a workaround. Drew
  20. Just a check in. I have pretty much everything running perfectly thanks to everyone that posted here. Thank you. I have found that when I ask Alexa to brighten a scene she says "____ doesn't support that". Is this because she can't alter a scene made in the ISY? If so, is there a way around that? I'd like to be able to activate a scene and then tell her to brighten it or dim it. Drew
  21. Hi Javi, this is good news. Thank you for the post. When you say the wiring will be the same you are confirming I hook the ground to ground and the other wire to IR IN? As far as length goes the wires from the back of the Hub will be less than three feet easily. Drew
  22. My bad. I had the "Control TV and Receivers" selected on one of the APPLE tvs. Still, any thoughts on if thats the way to wire the hub to the connecting blocks? Drew
  23. Hi guys, Just got the Hub set up. I have it sitting in front of the gear and it triggered everything. But it also triggered the other Apple tv4 and the other receiver even though they weren't in the Harmony Activity. Thoughts? Also, I'm wondering if I have to direct wire it through the 2.5mm mini mono jacks in the back of the hub to the connecting blocks (I have one for upstairs and one for down. Heres the diagram of the blocks. I assume I'll hook Ground to sleeve and tip to IR IN as I don't think I need to send 12V into the back of the hub. Again, thoughts before I undertake the wiring? Drew
  24. I really like the Apple TV 4 Siri remote for a lot of that stuff. I'm just wanting to voice activate the gear on and off mainly. And to switch between Harmony activities. Volume etc I'm okay with. Did it work fine for that stuff?
  25. Excellent, I'll start to look around
