I have an IR set up that lets me keep all my AV gear in a media Closet. I have IR receivers in the tv rooms and IR blasters hooked up to everything in the closet. Including the ISY994i/IR (If you're asking about the set up because you want to do this yourself I can go into more detail) If you have an idea how to program Let me know Drew

Hi Guys; I know I can add scenes into a sub menu on the Harmony remote but I have to push many buttons on it to get to the scene to trigger it. I'm wondering if I can press play on the harmony and have a scene trigger. And press pause and have a different scene trigger. Clearly not a must have but pretty cool if its possible. Drew

I've switched the network cables a few times. No luck. I can check to see if theres any physical issue in the serial port itself. I've sent a tech request. I hope to get this issue resolved this week. Thank you everyone who posted possible fixes. Any last minute cures are still welcome. Drew

Still no improvement. I understand everything points to a faulty PLM but again this is three in a month. No power surges or any disruptions. The GUI is still slow to load. RX is still on solid. Aside from sending another PLM back and starting again with another one I don't know where to look.
-
I've plugged the PLM into a few different spots with no success I do notice the power and RX ISY LEDs are constantly lit Could it be there's something wrong with my ISY? It also takes quite a while for the ISY GUI to pop up. The splash screen is there but hangs for about a minute. When the GUI does come up it's very slow and laggy, often not responding to any clicks then clicking through all previous clicks (I hope that makes sense) Anybody have any other guesses?

Yes. I can plug the PLM into different outlets around the house and see if that works. When I unplug the PLM should then unplug the ISY and then plug in the PLM wait then plug in the ISY?
-
Including the original PLM I believed was failing this makes three PLMs that are faulty. Can it be something else besides the PLMs? It seems I can't have three bad PLMs

All LEDs are bright. Is there something I can do to make sure this works or not before I send this one back and wait for another possible bum PLM? Drew

Does that mean the PLM is working? All PLMs have had the green LED lit

So... I got Amazon.ca to return the first PLM which was out of their return window but they were gracious enough to do so. I'm going to return the second either today or monday. Before I do, we're positive I'm being sent bad PLMs, correct? Drew

I just switch out the cable. Still the same result I'm hoping I didn't buy another PLM when I didn't have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated Drew As an aside I don't have the option to Automatically upgrade ISY under Help. Cant seem to manually upgrade it either. Drew

Hi Michel; This is the second brand new PLM this month. It can't be dead. There must be something else. Could it be a faulty network cable?
-
One of the error messages is "Could Not Open File [/CONF/INSTENG.OPT] I'm assuming that's because the ISY was reset?
-
I just plugged my PLM in in the exact order that was marked out. I reset the ISY but now am getting the same error messages. PLM Info/Status 000.0V Not connected I can't 'Start Linking" (nothing pops up) Do I Restore Modem? Please help.

I think I'd like to start fresh. I'll follow the directions for resetting the ISY (Push the pin in) So to clarify, unplug everything. Plug in the PLM. plug in the ISY. Plug the two together with network cables. Reset the ISY Begin to rediscover all devices and carry on Have I missed something or messed something up? Drew

The wiki is telling me not to reset but to reboot. ? Is there a benefit to resetting? (resetting being pushing in the pin button on the back?)

So I'm getting the new PLM tomorrow. Although I have a back I don't trust it since it was with the faulty PLM. I don't mind redoing everything again, I'm becoming a pro. So to be clear, I'll unplug the PLM and the ISY from their power adaptors and network cables. Then I'll plug in the ISY’s port A to the new PLM Plug the new PLM into a power outlet Plug ISY into a power outlet Go to Admin Console and wait for system initialization to complete Then start linking devices. Correct?

I just tried to make a new program and it failed. It spit out a long error message and then told me it was a Bad Request. I hadn't heard that since I was Naughty Santa at the last Staff Christmas party. waka waka waka Drew

I did. I also had no real good back up and had to redo everything (I own that) I didn't mind as it let me clean up a lot of unused programs etc. I noticed a few weeks ago that programs were acting odd (timers would turn a scene on but not shut it off) ALL OFF scenes would leave a few lights on and I'd have to press the KPL button to trigger it a few more times to get it right. I could add one Remotelinc 1 easily but a week later the second remotelinc wouldn't add whatsoever. It occurred to me the new PLM was acting up but before I got a chance to check it I got the warning I posted above. I have another PLM on the way (warranty replacement) and I will again follow the directions. I have unplugged the PLM to detangle cables etc. If I unplug the PLM do I have to unplug the ISY and then Go through some series of 'plug this in first, then this' etc? Or can i just plug in the new PLM and go from there? Drew

Is there a way to test to see if I can restore it? Unplug both the PLM and ISY and power down, then plug in PLM then ISY?
-
I have a brand new PLM and just got this message. I have also had odd program behaviour since installing the new PLM. Am I to understand I have a defective PLM?
-
I've got it in the ISY but still with Exclamation marks. I programmed a scene to one of the buttons as a controller and it worked (sometimes I had to push it twice to trigger the scene but I also didn't remove the tin foil from the PLM if that makes a difference) The ISY didn't recognize the scene had been triggered. My next try would be to put the Remotelinc in the barn (its a separate service but still controlled by the ISY) I have two SWL out there version .27 Are they dual band RF devices? If not what are dual band? Drew
-
Doesn't seem to be doing anything. Should I delete the device and try to find a better place to set it when I try to re add it? Any thoughts on where I need to put the remote to hopefully have a better result in adding it to the ISY? Outside? as far from the house as it'll go and still be found? I'm getting the feeling i'll be burning a few AAA's before I'm done Drew

Hi Brian How far away were you? If I go too far I assume it won't read at all. I've been running everywhere and finally got the remotelinc added but there are exclamation marks beside the buttons. I can't query it either. I add a button to a scene and it seems to add but won't actually control the scene. I have another Remotelinc and had no problems adding it whatsoever. Don't know what the difference is Drew
