PS: On an additional subject, I have the following in a Customization Notification "Notify test". The messages sent do not contain CR/LF and the text is received as: Temperature is 89 FHumidity is 43 %21:11:07Larry Pollis:larrypollis@icloud.comOn I have tried Text, HTML and XML (and for XML I get an attached file with an .XML extension as I would expect.) How can I include the CR/LF? Thanks. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Use HTML and put <BR> where you want a LF/CR

Pmwill If the green led on the PLM is not lit then for sure it has failed (assuming that your PLM has the green led.)
-
Ipollis You might want to take a look at your ISY error log to see if you have any email related errors.

I don't have first hand experience with these bulbs but when I took a look at the specs it didn't mention that they were dimmable. The 2477D is a dimmer so there may be a compatibility issue between the bulb and the switch. If that's the case you may want to try a 2477S.

Whose LED bulbs are you using?

Make sure you only have one wireless device at a time in the linking mode. The motion sensors need to be opened up and the button pressed in order to get them into linking mode.

If "Control is switched Off" no longer working. PLM bad?
Techman replied to jeffpdavis1's topic in ISY994
Make sure that you don't have a computer or any electronic devices plugged in close to where the PLM is as they can interfere with power line signals coming and going to the PLM. Did unplugging the Monster power strip make a difference? -
Are you using a state variable or an integer variable?. A program can only be triggered by a state variable. Take a look at your variable to make sure it's properly initialized. Being that your weather data is coming from Montreal Airport is should be reliable. You might want to take a look at your error log to see is there's any HAM Weather related errors.

If "Control is switched Off" no longer working. PLM bad?
Techman replied to jeffpdavis1's topic in ISY994
It's OK to plug the ISY into the UPS and the UPS should be plugged into a filterlinc. Don't use a filterlnc with the IOLincs as it will prevent their (single band) powerline signal from getting to the ISY. Try unplugging the Monster Power strip to see if it helps. Some power strips can create noise on the powerline. Is your PLM a dual band model? Changing the batteries in the MS or adding a AP shouldn't create the problem you're having. As side note you could always update your single band switches to dual band which should help improve reliability. -

in addition to what oberkc suggested, have you added new electronics, appliances or CFL bulbs, etc.about the time the programs quit working -
Can you post all the related programs. Where are you getting your temperature data from?
-
and DO NOT delete your old modem. Make sure you have a good back up.

MustangChris04, Were you able to resolve the problem? Techman

Make sure you're not exceeding the rated wattage of the devices. If you have more than one device installed in the same box then the wattage of the load must be reduced due to heat. If a device is acting up you could also try doing a factory reset on the device, then a restore device from the ISY.
-
Did you have a previous PLM that was working and replaced it with a new one or is this a brand new installation?
-
You should also make sure you have a stable power source. If your area has frequent black outs, brown outs, etc then you should first look into a whole house power line filter as power line surges can reek havoc on electronics.

The ISY log will show if a device has changed its status, it doesn't log if a program ran. The program summary shows when the program last ran and when it's scheduled to run again. If the program summary shows that the program ran then the problem is either with communications or the PLM. Being that the scenes reside in the PLM and assuming that you have no other issues controlling devices then I would focus on the PLM, power line interference around the time the program ran or if you have multiple programs running at the same time then they should be separated by 10 seconds or so to avoid collisions. Does your ISY log show any other activity about the time your program was supposed to turn off the lights?
-
The log would show that the program ran telling the scene to perform but there's no way to know if the scene actually triggered. Another possibility is that there's interference on the power line around the time the scene is supposed to turn off the devices. Most of the older PLMs fail around the two year mark. Sometimes they become intermittent before that completely fail. This is usually due to defective capacitors. Is the green led on the PLM lit?, if not then there's an issue with the PLM.
-
MustangChris04 The scenes reside in the PLM, not in the ISY. It's possible that the PLM is starting to fail. The ISY logs will not show the status of a scene, only the status of the devices in the scene. How old is the PLM, and what is its firmware version Try running a scene test for the scene that is at issue.
-
Assuming that you have a single band PLM and that the restore modem fails then you would most likely benefit from a new dual band modem which also has the latest firmware release.
-
gadgefreak, how old is your PLM. If It's more than 2 years old it's possible that it's starting to fail and needs to be replaced.
-
Certainly strange, probably best to go ahead and order another KPL so you'll have something to compare it with.
-
Try the yellow filter it will defuse the light without adding much in the way of color
-
The heartbeat signal is also available in the ISY log. You can also write simple program to notify you if a heartbeat signal is missed.
-
If the keypad button leds are too bright at the lowest setting you might want to try replacing the clear plastic lens behind the button with a yellow or blue lens take a look at this link http://www.smarthome.com/insteon-2401l-led-color-change-kit-for-keypadlinc-4-color.html
