  1. Then you have the 500 series Zwave board. Your ISY setup fully supports the migration process to the eisy.
  2. Not sure if you're saying you do, or do not, have a blue led on the back of the ISY994, please clarify. At this time all other leds and connections are irrelevant as we need to determine what Zwave board you have installed and if your existing firmware is correct for the installed Zwave board. Note: the 300 series Zwave board is only compatible with ISY firmware 5.0.16C (and below).
  3. If your ISY994 firmware is currently 5.3.4 and the rear of your ISY does not have the blue led showing then your Zwave card is the 500 series, so you're ready for migration. Make sure that you backup both ther ISY994 and Zwave before starting migration. You should also do a firmware update on the EISY before migration. Exactly follow the migration instructions below: Eisy:User Guide - Universal Devices, Inc. Wiki After migration you need to review all your programs as some may need to be manually updated. Also perform a zwave and EISY backup after migration.
  4. What is the current version of your ISY firmware, in the admin console click on HELP | ABOUT Do you currently have Zwave devices installed in your ISY994, if so, how many? The ISY Zwave backup is stored in the ISY, there's no need to know its exact location In the ISY click on Zwave and look for its firmware version, that will determine what Zwave board you have installed. The 300 series Zwave board has a blue led on back of case, the 500 board does not have an led. Is your EISY using the external Zwave/Zmatter dongle? DO NOT update your ISY firmware until you know what Zwave board is installed in your ISY
  5. The process has not changed, but there may have been a later firmware update, follow the previous instructions. The Polisy is still fully supported by UDI.
  6. I have the ZAC38. The admin console will display the AC Mains Disconnected assuming that the eisy/poolisy is on a UPS. The only glitch is when the controler is rebooted, the AC Mains stats doesn't update to show connected, however if A/C power to the ZAC38 is lost then the disconnect will again show in the admin console. After a reboot, if you unplug then reconnect the ZAC38 the admin console will show the correct status. If your controller and router are on a UPS then you're able to receive a power fail email
  7. Click on the line that says ISY, that should then take you into your ISY. The fact the the led is not lit on the PLM probably means that the PLM power supply has failed. Being that the ISY is discontinuted and no longer supported you may want to consider the EISY anhd a new USB PLM from Insteon. UD Store - Universal Devices
  8. Try removing power from the ISY, then remove the SD card and clean its contacts with a soft eraser. If that doesn't help then it's possible the SD card failed. Is the green led on your PLM lit? Check your ISY power supply for the correct voltage Is you Java current? You can also try clearing your java cache, be sure to check all three boxes, then download the IoX Launcher from here: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Let me know if any of these steps resolve youe issue.
  9. UD no longer sells the 500 board. It's possible that a forum member may have one to sell. Not sure if you can downgrade the ISY firmware without creating issues. Maybe a forum member may have the answer. Hopefully you have current Zwave and ISY backups made prior to udating to 5,3,4
  10. Remove power from the ISY, then remove the SD Card and clean its contacts with a soft eraser. The contacts can oxidize over time and create issues.
  11. Do you have the 300 or 500 series Zwave board in your ISY? The 300 series board is not supported by 5.3.4 firmware. What firmware version were you running prior to updating to 5.3.4?
  12. The EZCOMM / SMARTENIT PLM is comparable to the Insteon 2412S PLM. The PLM was made in 2012 so its firmware is outdated. You'll need the Insteon serial cable as the pin out is different from the stock serial cables.
  13. Do you have an EISY controller. The PLM you have is compatible with the EISY. To link an Insteon device to the EISY you should enter its address xx.xx.xx in the Link Management tab.
  14. What model PLM did you purchase from Insteon. What controller do you have? The X10 protocol is supported by the PLM and EISY. Being that you have some Insteon switches, then you've come to the right place.
  15. @scholarwarrior' Apparently all your devices use the X10 protocol and are not Insteon compatible. Being that you don't want to replace them with Insteon devices then this is probably not the correct forum, as this is site supports Insteon, Z-wave, Zigbee, and Matter protocols. The current, and ony, controller offered by Universal Devices is the EISY. You should probably return the Insteon PLM unless you've already purchased an EISY. UD Store - Universal Devices I think the EISY is more than you need if you're staying with X10 All of the X10 devices and controllers can be found at this link. X10 PRO – X10.COM
  16. @smorgasbord Attached is an updated set of instructions for replacing the PLM on an EISY/POLISY Personally, I prefer the USB PLM as there's one less thing to fail. It's also easier to locate the PLM away from the controller using a USB cable. Replace PLM Procedure (EISY or POLISY).pdf
  17. The original instructions were written before the eisy/polisy was released. Any reference to the ISY should be replaced with EISY/Polisy. I'll update the instructions to eliminate any reference to the old ISY.
  18. Insteon was launched in 2005, are you sure about the date of your insteon devices. If they're older devices then they're powerline only and don't have the dual band technology (powerline and RF) What is the date code and model number of your PLM, The information is on the PLM sticker You mention that your eisy firmware is 5.84, what is your UI version. You can find that by clicking on Help | About on the admin console. I think you should forget about X10. It's an outdated technology. Insteon is far superior. Prior to moving over to the EISY what were you using to control your Insteon devices.
  19. @CraigB1 One thing you can try is removing power from the ISY for about 30 seconds.
  20. I would hold off doing anything for a week or two. There's a firmware update that should be coming out fairly soon that may resolve your issue.
  21. Take a look at this article. If you have any Insteon Motion Sensors they are notorious for causing all on events when their batteries are low. All on events won't show up in your event log. https://wiki.universal-devices.com/INSTEON_Random_All_On_Events
  22. @jeffreycowart Take a look at this: Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Plus Range Extender ZAC38 - The Smartest House
  23. Being that Zwave is a RF only protocol, the location of the antennas is important in ensuring good RF communication. Devices that are embedded in a wall will have a reduced range, especially if they're mounted in metal electricial boxes. An externally mounted repeater, plugged into a wall outlet, especially one higher up, will improve RF communications.
  24. All my Zwave devices are either Aeotec or Zooz. Lately I've been going with Zooz as their devices support Zwave 800LR. I'm using the eisy with the 700 series Zmatter board and the Zooz ZAC38 repeater. My system has been 100% reliable. The ISY994 Zwave's antenna is in the enclosure which limits it range. If most of your Zwave devices are located in a wall then their range is somewhat compromised. Not sure why your 700/800 devices are having issues as they have an improved range over the 500 series. I'm not sure if the older 500 series board was Zwave certified which could be an issue with newer devices.
  25. @jeffreycowart The 500 series board in the ISY has a limited range, about 20' or less. Have you tried adding a repeater close to the ISY?
