Sounds like it works outside of the Isy so it must be something you've programmed inside of it. My guess, is the button is in non toggle off mode and needs to be put in toggle mode

Did you do what I said in regards to troubleshooting? The Kpl of obsolete so you may be better off just saying it out for a new one

Let me get this straight, you have to hit the C button on 2x in order for the Kpl C button to turn on? If this is the case, factory reset the Kpl. Turn on the C button. Does it still take 2 taps to make the button come on? If not restore the device in the Isy. Turn on the C button again. What happens?

What are you using to turn your amp on or change inputs? Depending on setup, even if you run those same things again, it may not effect anything and start up the way you like I'm regards to actually program, you could make 2 folders and drop your programs in. 1 folder will only run if the variable is at 0, the other if the variable is set to 2. Put what you want in the corresponding folder

In addition to what you said, despite the multitude of devices each one of those systems can control vs the ISY, the ISY can still automate things much better than they probably ever will.

All of this stuff has come up in the past for various frameworks and none have yet fully delivered on their promises. We've heard it with zwave, ZigBee, Homekit, thread, Alljoyn, and others....yet here we are. Using your example of ecobee doesn't guarantee anything changes. They can still lock things down in such a way that only certain information gets released from it to a 3rd party. Or release a matter specific version that's not as fully featured as the current one. Regardless, it's more about what gives everyone what they are looking for today, not a year or 2 from now. Until things are released and used in the wild, I'll hold off on jumping on that bandwagon.

My sentiments exactly. The big 3 all have something to lose by making everything equal... Apple with their homekit. Google with Nest, and Amazon with ring. What I can see happening exactly what you say about the API. Developing a standard for adding a device to a system, privacy, and security. However, each company (especially Amazon and google), will probably leave the best features of their devices locked to their ecosystem. None probably cares enough about 3rd party stuff since they all typically support the same 3rd party devices. For the end user, they'll be more secure but nothing will change overall.

I don't see wifi evolving enough anytime soon. Wifi has the same problem as smartphone batteries. As they increase in size, performance, and capabilities, more is demanded from them. Look at wifi now. Take a modern router and use it 15 years ago. Wifi would seem perfect. Today however, we still end up with the same issues from 15 years ago. Why? Because modern devices are much more demanding than they were then. Just like with everything else in the world, sheer numbers can be overwhelming to anything. Look at what it takes for public venues to handle traffic. Most people want plug n play (and cheap) which will always struggle to manage alot of devices. Most people aren't going to have the time, money, or desire to invest in an enterprise solution. Many won't even buy their own router, instead choosing to use the cable companies router despite all the information out there about them. You're right about the isy. While we all want more immediately, they've grown in such a way that has allowed us to take advantage of the best available devices for our homes

Yale already does something like that with their line of locks which is why I use them for my installs. For standard non automated homes, we won't use a module, if it's a C4 home, I'll use their zigbee module, and if it's a smarthome, I'll use a wifi module, and if it's a diy setup, zwave. I doubt if someone will ever allow people to change frequencies however. Too much risk of something going wrong and causing them more headaches.

Firmware and UI needs to match and yours does not! Your firmware needs to be updated. Unfortunately for you, you're using the 99i which is obsolete and hasnt received a firmware update in over 6 years so you wouldnt be able to do that. You would need to upgrade to the 994 and upgrade to 4.9 at a minimum. Since you are using a different system other than ISY I cant say if they have any other requirements that you would need.

Could be anything. If its not a noise issue, providing detailed information on your setup such as firmware/UI, your programs for notifications, what you're using to send the notifications, etc. would help narrow things down.

ZigBee HA DOES NOT work with the isy. Not directly anyway. You would need to add another interface such as hubitat to use ZigBee.

Being that ZigBee HA devices do not work with the Isy, he'd be wasting time and money trying to go that route. Can we hold off on touting how great Matter is/will be until it's actually released and implemented throughout a multitude of devices. There's been at least half a dozen attempts at the next big thing but yet here we are with things still being limited in how they work together.

If you're not using zwave already and do not have a zwave board, you will end up paying more than 200 to swap to leave since you'll need to get the board in addition to additional devices to build up your zwave network. You can mix zwave with insteon but the experience will not be the same. Depending on what type of things you want to do, you'll probably miss out on the strengths of both systems by combining the 2

After you did restore PLM, did you also do a restore devices?

I'm assuming you didn't read @MrBill warning about programs and the information in the upgrade post about upgrading! You have to update your programs as there is a difference with how 5.0 handles them vs 4.0. That's where the yellow is coming from Make sure you cleared your Java cache and use the launcher as well.

There's minimal delay in starting the scene but a delay in the whole program running since I separate each room with a 1 second wait. This is to ensure all communication has occured prior to moving on to the next room. Typically, I start my program with the most important room and end it with the least important. For example, if i hit my away button in the kitchen on my way to the garage (in the evening), it'll turn on the hall light, unlock the door to the garage, open the garage door, turn off the kitchen, master bedroom, etc. Rooms that we generally do not use such as the dining room and scullery are processed last since the likelihood of them being on are low. The same applies to my goodnight. Hitting it in the living room will dim my lamps, turn on the step lights, and turn off the fan and other lights. Then the kitchen, and other rooms with the least used rooms being last. The more things that happens in a program the longer it will take. A wait between each one actually helps you more since you don't have to worry about collisions and so forth. Running 20 scenes with a 1 second wait will be more efficient than trying to run a single program with 100 different devices.
