  1. The isy zigbee radio is for energy management not zigbee ha. You are better off using zwave (swap out your zigbee for zwave). Due to needing to build out a mesh network regardless of whether it's zigbee or zwave, you're better off using a wifi capable thermostat. I would go with something like the ecobee as mentioned (I use it myself) or the Venstar T8750. You can use polyglot to control both. The thing I love about the ecobee is that it works wonderfully without the Isy.
  2. I dont use that device so I cant say how it performs on 5.0.16. However, being that you are using 4.7.3 that would most likely be the reason you aren't able to have full control over that device.
  3. What exactly isn't working? What are you trying to accomplish? Posting a copy of your program will allow us to help decipher what you're trying to do At the very basic you would just saying mudroom is: If control mudroom is switched on and control mudroom not switched off, then set scene on or else turn off. With that said, since you're using a scene already with the mudroom as the controller, you don't need a program.
  4. I'm with kclenden. What you are seeing has always been the ISYs response to a device that is already a controller in a scene. It's more of a warning/alert just in case your intentions were to use it as a controller.
  5. Ok. I wasnt familiar with that particular module so I googled it and what pulled up was a rs232 interface module. I'd clear your Java cache again to make sure that's not an issue. If you've used it before then I would suspect either a mismatched UI or something similar. Can you factory reset it hen try to exclude? Which zwave card are you using
  6. Is that the Rs232 interface module?
  7. What is the device and where is it located relative to the isy. Also, what's your firmware and U/I
  8. Don't get me wrong, Google is a great system. I still have both. I swapped out my homes for Sonos ones and switched to Alexa. Amazon allows for better customization. I still have my clock and a Google hub but I had to move on.
  9. I wasnt saying it works for me. I was referring to having a problem with finding needing info on udi's website. I shouldve been clearer. I stopped using google for new stuff. Amazons implementation is much better. Plus I dont like how google is closing off their ecosystem so im moving away from them. I dont think they update their info since these voice assistants change quite often. Its hard to keep up even when you do it constantly. Overall though, the process is still the same portal side. You do need to move the information to the individual rooms in google though as already mentioned.
  10. I've personally never had a problem with it but I think stuff like that is individually based. What shows up in your Google home with your devices? I'm assuming you're assigning your room in the portal when adding the device. Is that correct?
  11. You'll only see a benefit if all devices are 500 series. If any are of a lesser series you won't notice a difference at all. Regardless of finances, unless I was planning on swapping out all older devices, I don't see any reason for upgrading. Unless you're buying a used system, all currently shipping ISYzw ship with the latest chipset.
  12. Luckily not with mine. She doesn't understand it but she enjoys it
  13. She does the same so I'm good. As long as it's something she can technically use she doesn't complain
  14. Do what I do....with Christmas coming up, some of the wife's presents are really my presents. Lol
  15. I'm talking about general use not situations where it's almost required. When coupled with the Isy, the additional bridge doesn't bother me. If a person is using that many bulbs, the cheapest way to go about it is to get a kit so most likely one would have an extra bridge anyway
  16. Home automation is a business for me not a hobby. Too much makes things tacky. Done right is much more tasteful. I do agree with you on the multiple bulb approach which is why I generally do it with at least 2 lights minimum. At the end of the day, it really comes down to user taste.
  17. I'm sure it's cool when a person first gets it. After a while when it loses its WOW effect it's just a bulb. Even still, a great thing is 1 place. Having it all over lessens the appeal. To each their own. I just don't get it
  18. If memory serves correct, he went ahead and upgraded his ISY over buying a new one.
  19. I don't mind them for lamps. They work great for that. It's the fixtures such as chandeliers or can lights that I don't get.
  20. That's where I use mine. Extends the signal throughout the house along with the extra capabilities of tuning the light along with colors.
  21. I've never understood the desire to replace whole (large) fixtures with smartbulbs when it's cheaper/easier to simply replace a switch
  22. Have you tried contacting Ademco?
  23. I can understand that. I wouldn't use them there either. They're great for the home though
  24. Another reason I stick with hue....
  25. Unless you're planning on using something that 5.0 offers then there is no point in upgrading. I generally don't upgrade unless I'm looking for new features or capabilities (which is often). However for the ISYs that I have in the field, they aren't touched unless it's needed. With that said, 5.0 is like a smartphone. You don't realize you need some of the features until you have the capability. Only then you wonder how you lived without it.
