  1. I recommend creating scenes and seeing how things behave with different settings so that you have a better understanding how things work together. Here is a previous post on how what the commands means https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/23417-intseon-command-default-ignore/
  2. It's in the same section that you put your user codes
  3. That is correct
  4. What do you mean? The isy has always supported locks since they implemented zwave support
  5. You should be able to do the same with the isy
  6. Neither can really add functionality that doesn't exist in the lock. The firmware shouldn't go backwards in regards to what the lock can do. It's not a dongle issue either as the dongle works well with 5.0.16. The only way to take full advantage of the dongle is for all devices to be Zwave+. That's when you'd see the benefits.
  7. I use yale in all of my installions and have found that 5.3 pretty much breaks everything with the locks. 5.3.2 doesn't fix being able to see the different options either that the lock allows you to see. I've subsequently rolled by to 5.0.16 and recommend the same for yourself. I did submit a ticket to UDI about the issue some time ago. Hopefully @Michel Kohanimwill be able to chime in about when a fix may come to get back functionality with the newer (or upcoming) firmware
  8. See previous post in same question https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/31292-insteon-being-discontinued/
  9. From my experience, the isy will process insteon first then zwave one at a time. I've never paid attention to the order I added my devices to see if that mattered in regards to the order zwave gets triggered. Thats a good observation which could potentially help give the illusion of a faster system by triggering the most important devices first
  10. Zwave doesn't come close to insteon as far as usability goes which is why I could never use it for lighting outside of specific single use cases such as occupancy for a bathroom (i use outlets for repeating). If his devices have instant status and can be used with control, it should speed up his system as the Isy only needs to process based on individual button presses vs. checking the status of multiple devices which would take longer
  11. Make sure your firmware and UI match. Factory reset the remote and try and again
  12. Dont worry I'd share...Only because I might be stuck up there in the Canadian frozen tundra freezing my #$^ off with you watching me bundled up drinking hot chocolate laughing.
  13. I'm assuming that means you havent heard about the semi conductor shortage thats going on right now in the world? The same one that has caused auto factories shut down, short supply of PS5, xbox, and other electronic devices.
  14. Thats a big one. Its crazy how I can find the 2400 on ebay but struggle to get it from my vendors
  15. I do get information that others wouldn't be privy too. I'm quite sure you have built personal relationships over the years with people you are in business with as well which helps you in your line of work. Some people such as @Teken and @simplextech i've built closer relationships to on here can vouch for that as well. There are many companies struggling right now to get the silicon chips for their parts. For example, Ive been waiting for 6 months on a warranty swap from LIFX on some light strips. Locally, you cant even find them in stores when they used to be in abundance. Other companies still havent released new product that was supposed to come out last year due to supply constraints. Unfortunately, its a familiar story that im hearing from my suppliers about many different products that will only get worse in time. Unfortunately, with insteon being the only game in town, its much more noticeable since you dont have other options to choose from. On hold means they are focused on the major product lines while supplies are limited to ensure they have enough product that people buy most of. They will be be making more devices, just dont know when.
  16. I guess their Customer support never gives wrong information. According to my sources its not disco'd but currently on hold
  17. was it in linking mode when trying to add
  18. How long does it take for your devices to update in the isy? Are they newer devices with support for instant status? One thing you can do is use control instead of status since you want the fan to come on with any switch. To turn off you would want to use the status of all being off to turn off the bathroom light. While there will be a delay with the fan turning off, its not as big of a deal since you'd be leaving the room anyway
  19. They arent going anywhere. The problem they are having is getting the chips needed to power them. The same issue that other mfg. are starting to have as well including the auto industry. Its amazing how much information is out there but noone seems to pay any attention to it.
  20. To upgrade past 5.16, you'll need the new board. It doesn't work with the old board. Unless all devices are zwave plus, you really don't get any advantage with the newer features unless there's a specific feature in the upgrade that you're looking for.
  21. Not unless you write a program for it
  22. Ive always left my stuff in place. I build my system from the ground up to be used without a controller first and foremost. That way should my system go down it'll still run. I'd lose the automations but those are for convenience anyway. Buttons are clearly labeled and voice control is limited to basic turn on and turn off commands. I can easily delete my personal programs and leave the basic programs in place such as those for outdoor lighting control or door lock alerts without major impact to someone new. Many people are interested in HA but most do not want to pay for it. While it may not increase home value, it could motivate someone interested in HA even more to buy it. It's just important for things to not be so reliant on the controller to make it easier to live in
  23. Is the new a 2456 as well or 2635-222. Just checking as the 2456 has been discontinued for years. Have you tried rebooting the isy? Was the remote in linking mode when you did the swap? Does your firmware and UI match
  24. It's documented all over the forums on how to add zwave devices. Bring devices close to the isy, remove device, add device. That's the quick rundown. Michel's advice is the same steps and that applies whether it's an existing install or brand new. Personally (as do many others), I use a pigtail to add my devices prior to installing in their final location (This goes for all protocols not just zwave). With zwave now, I'd run an update neighbors after each device as it's easier to do as you're adding than all at one time. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Waiting 4 hours between adding devices is not a requirement. No one would use zwave if that was the case since it would take days or weeks for a simple installation. Insteon, zigbee, and zwave requires a strong mesh network in order to work properly. Insteon is more forgiving than zwave but depending on set-up, you could potentially run into the same issues with that as well if you don't build it out enough.
