  1. Im aware of that. Saying and doing are 2 different things. I hope they do though. The Nokia line is worth it.
  2. They disabled it due to people messing up their systems with static ip's because they didn't know what they were doing not because it caused an issue. Changing the ports can cause system issues however.
  3. Probably not by the 994. Michel has stated they won't support anything new from insteon unless they provide full documentation and support
  4. It supports fast on. There's no preset but itll turn on at the last brightness setting when you push the dial in and firmware upgradeable via their hub.
  5. You don't need it. Some like myself have 2 systems. 1 to run our home and the other for testing.

In the notes of the 5.3.4 section it says you'll need to verify your programs. Most likely something has changed with some of your programs so you'll need to update them. It may be as simple as clicking on a line in your program, clicking update, and saving. The problem programs are usually in yellow. You may also need to update your java runtime memory (also found in the notes for the upgrade with instructions on how to do so). If you're having problems with wireless devices, make sure that it's in linking mode when trying to restore them. If you're trying to re-add your wireless devices, make sure that you're typing the address in correctly. An 8 may be a B or D for example. There may be comm issues with your iolinc. Bring it closer to your plm, restore it, and then hook it back up.
  7. Its really nice. Looks and feels much better than their current kpls. I doubt insteon will release one that's directly matter based based but once their new hub supports matter (or udi supports both), there's a good chance that it could be used with matter. I can see scenes being managed the way they currently are with Google, HK, udi, and Alexa. Ie: all devices triggered as 1 group but different technologies will turn on 1 at a time
  8. If ordering the cable from udi or any of the other countless places that has been talked about on here is too hard for you, then it may be time to move to HA. Sometimes you have to see if the grass is really greener on the other side.
  9. They don't. Mfg. with deep pockets will always have extra features added to their devices to make them appealing to more users. Everyone else will regurgitate the same devices that do nothing special while piggy backing off the work of others. You see this now with ZigBee and zwave- both of which have been around long enough to know how things will play out
  10. I wouldn't say it's a lack of wisdom. Smarthome provided the necessary cable to be used with the product and allowed anyone to use it as they saw fit. They put it on the end-user to research and determine what their particular setup requires. The isy made use of the plm and it's Ethernet port by having a direct connection, Polisy used the DB9 directly, and EISY uses USB.The fact that the plm works with 3 different setups shows they made a wise choice. UDI isn't at fault either. On the eisy sales page, it explicitly states that the 2413s requires their adapter kit (with link to kit). They can't help if the end user doesn't bother to check what they have or click the link to the product to verify.
  11. Could be since there really isn't much of an insteon presence outside of N. America
  12. It's just the nokia stuff. They're much better than the old insteon stuff. If Ra3 never came out, I'd be willing to use it.
  13. Insteon stated previously that their new hub would support Matter. I would assume the hub itself would connect insteon devices to other matter devices/routers
  14. See step 6 in the installation instructions

  16. If the switch is part of the scene still, remove the switch from the scene. Factory reset the kpl, and then right click on the kpl and choose restore
  17. What are you trying to do? You're not making sense! Keypad buttons will always be part of a keypad as they are 1 device. If you're trying to I group them then right click on the device and choose ungroup
  18. As Mrbill stated, you need to go to the scenes that have your devices in them and remove the devices from the scene. What you're attempting to do is delete the kpl itself from the isy.
  19. Correct. This has been covered a few times on here and from Michel. Its still being worked on. When I posted I was travelling at the time and I wasn't aware of 5.5.2 being released with the fix at that moment. Hopefully @Michel Kohanimwill be able to chime in and clarify
  20. If you read all the way through it, it also says: Features Migration from existing network (e.g. Zooz) Migration from ISY-994 500 Series Backup But you're more than welcome to wait. Hopefully someone who has done it will respond. You can also reach out directly to UDI via their support lines.
  21. According to what the firmware page for 5.5.2 says, yes it can be done. https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/39592-iox-release-v552-is-now-available/
  22. They can repeat the signal. The encryption is for the end device itself

  24. What problems are you having? It's nice to know your board (500series) but that doesn't help us determine what's wrong if we don't know what's wrong. S2 support or lack of would not cause any issues.
  25. Due to the mixed nature of scenes in the 5.x.x firmware, that is no longer available
