  1. Nothing changes how they work is in regards to how insteon works in itself (with other insteon devices). This is why it was able to be placed in a scene and controlled by another insteon device without issue. The hangup is on the controller side of things not insteon devices itself.
  2. I tested mine when I was still using the Isy and couldn't get it added to a scene. I'll re-add them tonight and see what happens. With the keypad, It only added the main switch as a relay so I didn't even bother trying with that.
  3. Everything still works the same as with older insteon devices which is why it can be added to the system. Because the Isy doesn't recognize the devices itself, there are limits to how the Isy can handle them. For all intents and purposes though, nothing changes about how they work.

That's a lot of generalities. While this isn't my forte, reading what you wrote was enough to want to avoid using it if that was your sales pitch. It's not like the path udi took made for a prohibitively expensive product. Compared to the cost of other controllers, the eisy isn't that expensive. Look at the cost of an rpi4. Are they really saving much of anything? I'm quite sure UDI did their homework and took the path that they felt was best suited for their business
  5. You're in uncharted waters and probably on your own with this one. It's been a good 10 years since the 99 was discontinued so there probably isn't anyone around who has taken your journey from 99 to EISY. It's probably the same should you go from the 99 to 994. As it's been ages for most of us since we did that migration. If anything it would be backup old system and restore it in the 994. As mentioned earlier, it'll probably be best to start with a clean slate and go with the eisy. Factory reset your devices to original state by following the directions in their respective user manuals Google device model# and add user manual). Once done, you'd add the devices like normal to the eisy

  7. What's stopping their allocation from being sold out as well? It's not like there aren't a lot of Canadian users as well. They get theirs from udi so if udi is out so are they (once they sold through their stock).
  8. What happens when you choose start linking then press and hold set button on the device?
  9. New product with most of their user base buying it. Just like everything else in that type of situation, they ran out.
  10. I suspect you're typing the address in incorrectly. What is a 2636-222? Do you mean 2635-222 plug in module? Have you tried start linking then press and gold the set button on the device
  11. It's been a long time since I've added one but yes it works (at least with 5.0.16c and later)
  12. I've never had a single issue with adding devices. It takes me about 5 seconds. What steps are you taking to add a device
  13. It doesn't work with the 994. Most likely none of the products will ever work with the 994 since it's discontinued. All of the new products will add to the system, they'll just say unsupported device. You can control basic on/off functions but will not receive status of manually controlled.

Their codes are usually one time (or time sensitive) for specific users or instances vs general use codes that are always available.
  15. lilyoyo1 replied to RDLSAT's topic in eisy
Available discounts are listed on the product sales page. The only thing currently available is the trade in program for the EISY which can be found on it's page
  16. Keep in mind that the performance of both depends on a strong mesh network so you may need more than 1 device depending on where you choose to install the device.
  17. Your drop downs don't give you other options such as choosing your activities?
  18. I don't get it either. They used to be cheap. I've seen it around 159-179 for gen 3

  20. It's usually less than 200. Probably more right now since they're hard to get
  21. I debated on responding to you only because of how ridiculous you sound. You literally bought a product without researching what you needed in order for it to work and now it's everyone's fault but your own!!!! You screwed up. Not UDI, Samsung, or Amazon. 1) this can be just as hard as buying from udi since most people across the border won't ship to Canada. However, eBay can be your friend. 2) you can...or you can just buy a smart things hub. They aren't that expensive. 3)Guess our vows for better or for worse has truly lost it's meaning.... 4)they don't make the module anymore....I guess you expect for them to start producing more parts for a discontinued product just for 1 person....that makes a lot of sense. Let me call Samsung and complain about them not supporting my old note 8 anymore. Businesses exist to make money. They sell a product or service along with a guarantee of support for that product for a period of time. You spent 200 bucks on a product 4 years ago. Do you really expect them to support it forever?
  22. The latest firmware for the 994 is 5.3.4 for those using zwave devices with the 500 series zwave. For those using zwave devices with the 300 series board the latest firmware is 5.0.16c. 5.5.4 is for polisy and EISY users only. @Geddyis it possible to add a note in red for polisy/EISY firmwares that the latest firmwares are for polisy/EISY users. The way it currently reads, it can be misread as if it can used for any system. Personally, If you're not well versed with what you're doing, I'd leave it alone until you're more comfortable with migrating or start from scratch. Depending on whether you use insteon or zwave, you can cause more issues than you solve with baby steps. With that said, yes, you can use unused devices with eisy to test while you have your isy994 connected.. if you use insteon, just make sure you have a second plm for your eisy
  23. Thats a far cry from the cloud based solutions. Very limited, must be specific with your words, and much less capable.
  24. Youd have the 300 since the 500 isn't compatible with 4.xx firmware
  25. Since all of the systems you've named are dealer installed only systems, you'll need to ask your installer what they can and are willing to do. Just because it may be possible, the people in your area may not be willing to integrate with insteon or may not have the knowledge
