  1. That's part of the problem which adds to the confusion. You have multiple people asking the same questions in different ways which receives the same information in different ways. This isn't the isy which has been around for 10+ years. Every single person using zmatter and eisy are using it for the first time together. The main ones that tend to help are also the ones who jump feet first into the fire so they're limited in regards to helping those who are hesitant and wanting to take baby steps (I'm sure that applies to udi as well) as they're building things for those who are trying to jump into things wholely or do a completely new install vs piecemeal. Reality is, the system isn't ready for prime time unless you're starting from scratch. You're not getting a plug and play type of system at this moment. Anyone hesitant to break their system or spend time rebuilding things should probably sit this round (or the next few) out. Taking baby steps or needing hand holding will probably cause more headaches and problems than it solves. Especially when you consider the time wasted. For example, look at this question that was asked. We're still on it 5 days later. Even with being busy, udi couldve answered a support call much faster. Hell, depending on skills, the op could've rebuilt his entire system in this time (especially if he took time to take note of his programs and previous setups). I get the hesitation. I completely understand the reasonings behind it. However, if you're not ready to commit, you're probably better off waiting for things to be stable and then proceeding.
  2. Id clear java cache to make sure your UI and firmware matches. Once done, click on a line, choose update, and then save each program again
  3. I've seen different issues with different setups so your mileage may vary. Many were able to get their systems up and running properly but it took time and effort. The easiest way to keep up with what's good/bad is to check the latest firmware release page as it'll have the latest bug fixes for whatever popped up in earlier releases. Generally the early adopters comment their issues in the first few posts so it's easier to keep up reading the first 1 or 2 pages before things go sideways. From Udi's perspective, it wouldn't make sense to say yay or nay to a release since the latest is suppose to fix what was previously broken. The main broken things I've seen with the latest release deals more with individual node servers than the system overall. Personally, I would hold off if you're looking for a a stress free upgrade. While I'm confident that my system would be fine, I'm waiting for that reason. I don't have the time right now to focus on troubleshooting.
  4. Is this accomplished through scenes or programs?
  5. I didnt think ZigBee has been enabled yet.
  6. It can happen but the effects can be minimized. Like Mrbill, I run multiple systems at home. In fact, I ran half ofy house on 1 polisy and the other on my test unit until I combined the system and use the other for testing purposes without issue. It just depends on the user and how well he knows the system to keep collisions from happening. Insteon also has built in safe guards which helps as well
  7. I also wanted to add that my off program also flashes the lights before turning off to give a person a heads up to trigger the sensor
  8. You use status which accomplishes the same thing. I don't use status for mine as I've found the system doesn't always update the state of devices during a reboot
  9. Your method is fine if you just want the lights to turn off which is what the program you linked to is designed to do. It doesn't need anything else. My method keeps the lights from turning off if someone is still using the bathroom. Yes, you can use other programs to prevent the lights from turning off by why use 2 when it can be accomplished in 1? For example, if a person is in the bathroom doing their business, they may not be picked up by the sensor. Using your methodology, the lights would turn off on them because they were still too long. Another situation would be getting ready in the morning and a person is in and out of the bathroom. Another reason is the op clearly stated that he wants the lights to stay on if the bathroom is being used. As you stated in your argument (as well as program linked), once the switched off command is received, the system will go line by line. What are you using to stop the lights from turning off? My method will cause the a reevaluation during the wait. If motion is switched off>wait. If motion is switched on during that time, the isy will reevaluate the system and stop the program during the wait which stops the lights from turning off. Should no motion happen, no reevaluation takes place and lights continue to go off.
  10. The second line isn't just for or else commands. It also allows programs to reevaluate. If you just have switched off, once it triggers, the countdown will start and continue since there is nothing to stop the trigger and cause it to reevaluate. By adding the switched on, the program reevaluates and stops the countdown.
  11. the not switched on stops the timer. If you just use the switched off, then the timer would continue to run once triggered.
  12. Ir pro doesn't infer 500 series. Did your board have a light on the back of it? What firmware was your isy running
  13. I separate my on programs from my off when it comes to my sensors for a variety of reasons. I use If motion is switched off and not switched on Then wait 5 minutes switch off
  14. You need to be more clear on what you're asking.
  15. That would depend on your controller. Most likely you'd need to remove and then add to the new controller
  16. How? Zooz stick isnt compatible with the ISY
  17. Howd you accomplish that? Do you mean you used zooz with your polisy?
  18. What do you mean by speed setting
  19. I was asking out of curiosity. When it comes to people spending money on something that may or may not be supported going forward, they do have a right to know that information. Yes, it's buy at your own risk to a certain degree as anyone can step down in the future. However, for node servers to work and the platform to succeed, people will need to believe in the system and trust that they won't be wasting their money only to see things break or have issues without a fix. If those node servers (in addition to potential future situations) are being picked up by UDI, yourself, or someone else, then it's all a moot point.
  20. Which node servers does this affect
  21. I thought the sales page was explicit enough but yes, the zmatter board is USB only. I personally don't have an issue with the dongle being USB. It's not like it's going to up and walk away for it to get lost. If you're in a situation where you are constantly moving it around or people are messing with it; then I can see it being a bigger issue for you on both sides of the coin.
  22. That's a lot of generalities. While this isn't my forte, reading what you wrote was enough to want to avoid using it if that was your sales pitch. It's not like the path udi took made for a prohibitively expensive product. Compared to the cost of other controllers, the eisy isn't that expensive. Look at the cost of an rpi4. Are they really saving much of anything? I'm quite sure UDI did their homework and took the path that they felt was best suited for their business
  23. You're in uncharted waters and probably on your own with this one. It's been a good 10 years since the 99 was discontinued so there probably isn't anyone around who has taken your journey from 99 to EISY. It's probably the same should you go from the 99 to 994. As it's been ages for most of us since we did that migration. If anything it would be backup old system and restore it in the 994. As mentioned earlier, it'll probably be best to start with a clean slate and go with the eisy. Factory reset your devices to original state by following the directions in their respective user manuals Google device model# and add user manual). Once done, you'd add the devices like normal to the eisy

  25. What's stopping their allocation from being sold out as well? It's not like there aren't a lot of Canadian users as well. They get theirs from udi so if udi is out so are they (once they sold through their stock).
