  1. I would contact schlage and ask them. They should know their product line
  2. You can try the smart switch 6 from aeotech
  3. Yes you have already stated that. As such, there is no good fix for your problem.
  4. I would not worry about the insteon PL signal. It can travel up to a mile uninterrupted. In the real world however, you won't get nearly as far. The good thing is every device repeats the signal so that helps. Ditto with RF. Ive used insteon in many mcmansions without issue (including our own). While my next house will be C4, it's more about wanted what C4 offers vs insteon not being capable. Whether it's insteon or zwave, the less devices you want to invest in, the more precise you'll need to be in your execution. While you can potentially save money with zwave (in multi way setups) you could also spend significantly more (on repeaters) simply trying to get it to work properly.
  5. The best remedy for this situation is to replace the locks. Hes already determined the locks do not send status so no amount of additional devices will change that (based on ops previous statements). There's nothing anyone can do to solve this issue unless they decide to replace the locks with something that does send status. Should this happen, then having a strong mesh network will come into play. Continuing to try and troubleshoot is a waste of time.
  6. Did your lock give any indication of battery dying before hand?
  7. The isy generally reports what it's being told. What kind of batteries are you using? Did your lock show signs of batteries wearing down such as built in alerts, slow motor, etc? The reason I ask, is that there are things built into the lock to let you know the battery is going bad. If the lock didn't show any of those low battery symptoms, then the battery drained suddenly before the Isy or the unit itself could warn you of impending failure.
  8. Zwave instructions are in the manuals for the devices you have. Every mfg. utilizes different parameters so you'll want to find yours on the device mfg. website. Most of the nodes are probably extra that zwave protocol has but your device probably doesn't use. Those can be deleted. Depending on your firmware and devices, insteon can potentially be if used in a scene. Just add it and see. If it doesn't work, the. You would need to use programs.
  9. Amazon and google go through different servers so 1 can be down while the other works. Since 1 does work, I'm assuming your setup is correct and google may be having a temporary issue. You could unlink your account and the. Relink it to see if that helps as well.
  10. We gave you an idea but you didn't like it. There are hundreds of models of locks and different ish firmwares & UIs. Since you're not providing any information about what you are using we can't help
  11. What are the details of your setup? Michel is correct in that the best approach is to solve the problem vs a bandaid approach that will cause more problems long term. If you're not getting status 2 feet from the isy then you have a bigger issue to solve and a query will not help that
  12. While this is the cheapest and does have alot of flexibility, it is also limiting and depending on family, could potential cause more problems than it solves. While I'm big on full automation I do believe the home should have the basic functionality in the home should it fail.
  13. Not necessarily but it can potentially be cheaper. It all depends on how close your isy is to the switches (if it can talk directly). If it cannot, by the time you buy repeaters you could potentially be at the same price point. You would just get a ge enbrigthen zwave switch and add 4 ge add on switches. Other companies have similar setups as well.
  14. Your router must support upnp and it must be enabled (upnp is normally disabled) for this to work. Note: in today's world this is not recommended. Either manually set up port forwarding or use the isy portal for remote access. Both are much more secure
  15. It's supposed to blink. I would move it closer to the ish and do it. If it works then, it's probably communication in that area
  16. I would just follow the advice to see if that works. If it doesn't you can start doing other troubleshooting
  17. Everything is still the same. More stuff is out of stock due to covid
  18. lilyoyo1 replied to robandcathy1's topic in ISY994
It's not supported. You may be able to flash tasmoto software to it and use the Mqtt nodeserver to control it. Note: you'll have to do most of the work yourself to get them programmed to work with the nodeserver. Your other option would be to hope that they have an open api that a developer could use to develop a nodeserver for it
  19. I can see this being normal behavior as this is built into the device itself. By default, if a switch is already on (dimmed), insteon will turn fully on. Ditto if you dim down. I've never paid attention to what happens in the console to know how the isy handles it (never thought about it). The isy is seeing the second tap as a standard press which is why it reflects the pre-set level vs the actual level. Im not sure if this is something Udi can fix as I'm uncertain what message is sent during this time. You may have to query the device after a button press if this is needed. A variable updating after a second on command would work best
  20. If you're talking about the insteon hub and you already have the isy, why not just add the device to the Isy instead of the hub
