It doesn't matter what they are in when you hit delete

That would slow things down as well since the system will continuously look for them before giving up. When removing devices, make sure you disable them in the system (right click on device>disable

You are correct. The keypads alone is about 200 links. This is before adding the rest of your devices and creating scenes and so forth between the rest of your devices. Most likely your plm is maxed out. Im surprised you were able to even add that many devices to your system. i believe this is why the Isy is stopping after 30%. Most likely the behavior you're seeing now is the correct behavior while it wasn't really doing it's proper run prior
  4. The lighting element that comes with engraving. You can set the ambiant lighting so that as you approach the switches, it will light up according to your settings. Ion addition to that, you can set the color. The switches can be either a dimmer or relay as well The biggest though is the integration with AV systems. It's too notch.

With 300 devices I'm hard pressed to believe that you only have 500 links. That would mean you only have standard switches with no scenes at all
  6. Id peruse the forums and look at all the other recent posts on the subject. No electronic switch will last forever. I'd assume 5 to 10 years max in the consumer market. 10 pushing the limits. High end systems could potentially last longer..... Then again you're comparing a $50 switch to a $200+ switch. Zwave would be your best bet in regards to openness. However that doesn't mean it'll be that way in 5+ years. In my opinion, that should be the least of your concerns. Buy for today as tomorrow isn't promised. There could be something else in that time or you may be different in what you're looking for. Even with me, in my next home i plan on going with Control4 in my next home. As much as I hate the cost, i love the look and capability. What I'm looking for insteon nor zwave supplies. As you and your situation changes so will your outlook. Buying for tomorrow's ideas is a waste.

You don't say what the full time difference is but 300 devices should take a while with any firmware.
  8. There's 5.3.1 out right now which probably contains the fix
  9. No. They are 2 different systems. It would be difficult but it is possible with 2 Isy's but you would really need to know what you're doing. If they share power, the Powerline signal could reach
  10. Are they added to your kitchen (room)? Many people have issues when the first name matches different stuff...especially when added to a room. ie: Lights with kitchen in the name added to a room called kitchen. The assistant is already processing your command when you start with kitchen. By the time you say kitchen it's redundant in the mind of the assistant so things gets confusing once you say the actual light. For best results, add it simply by the title. Sconce, island, cabinets, etc. Then add it to your kitchen room
  11. I would submit a ticket to udi
  12. It could very well be something else. However in troubleshooting, Michel is going for the most logical explanation first vs lesser options that may be out there....While it may suck if other devices cache are cleared, sometimes hard choices have to be made in order to troubleshoot and get to the root of the problem
  13. Amazon has been having issues with their servers. That may be causing issues
  14. Add your responders to your scene first and configure them. Once done, add your controllers. The Isy will automatically set the parameters in the controllers. Unless you want the controller to be different than the scene, this will save you time and effort
  15. Is the inlinelinc part off the scene and did you configure both the scene and the controller for them to be off
  16. Scenes do not override anything. When you turn a scene on, you are simply telling another device to turn on, off, or to a specific level. If you manually control a device that is part of a scene, it will do what you tell it. What exactly are you trying to accomplish
  17. Those that know would not be able to say. If I had to guess, I'd say second quarter next year. Third at the most
  18. There's 2 ways. The first sucks but is best. Factory reset devices. Do remove zwsve device (something like that) in ISY then add Zwave device. If you don't want to go through all that, in the Isy do remove devices from the furthest to closest. Then add devices from closest to farthest. This works if you have all zwave plus devices.
  19. It's true that it can still happen depending on the lights. The 2457d2 requires a minimal amount of load (5w I believe) so if your lights do not meet that level then yes it'll happen
  20. See post on previous page on the subject
  21. No. Not if done from the panel. It'll turn off of you manually control the device. When using control, only physical presses will trigger the program
  22. Zwave isn't more stable than insteon. Both have pros and cons. Depending on environment and setup your system can be really good or really bad with either one. People tend to blame the device first and move on when reality is, it's usually something else. You can keep the 300 board and upgrade later. However, as with any upgrade, things don't always go right. You could end up spending more time fixing things after upgrading vs just doing the right thing from the start. Not only that, it's much easier with PLUS due to increased range and network wide inclusion to add devices than it is with the 300 series.
  23. You need to go to the Amazon forums for help
  24. If you're going to switch over, you might as well upgrade to the 500 board and use all zwave plus devices
