Not following your wiring completely but it sounds like you connected the fan and lampbulb to the load wire (red = switched) of the KPL. The KPL red load wire should be capped off and not used for the fanlinc controller. It is controlled by Insteon signals only. FanLincs require raw power from the original black wire at the KPL.

My ISY Portal to ISY connection just locked up at 2:00 PM today. If ound it tonight when I got home and my Dots complained that the hub involved was not functioning. Loading the admin console, everything loaded but the message "Initialising" was displayed permanently. ISY Portal app complained ISY was down, also. All other ISY functions I tested seemed to work properly, including NRs and NodeLink. Rebooted ISY to a working system again. That is a first for me. The ISY and ISY Portal just decided they didn't like each other today. ISY V5.0.13C

With a binary value resistance ladder 256 levels can be produced with 8 outputs. If there is a common place a WC8 could output the analogues to what 8 lights?

There was a thread about the same thing here, about a year or more ago. I don't think there was a good solution put forth. Those controls seem to be oriented towards some studio style controller applications. There may be some transducer available that would interface an Insteon 120vac dimmer to a 0-10vdc sgnal. Perhaps a simple non-regulated power supply (wallwart) but the transformer may not lke the chopped waveform and overheat from harmonics or make noise.

0-10v sounds like fluorescent? I have one 4 x 32 W unit in my kitchen and I have thought about tearing out the ballasts and bulbs and installing a 5m RGBWW LED strip and LEDenet WiFi controller inside the cover. The white light off these WW strips is a beautiful 3000K that always feels much richer than any other white bulbs of any technology I have seen. Dimming goes smoothly right down to 1% and the mechanical switch would turn it back onto the last colour used. or....A switchlinc used but not wired to the load could control the on/off level and colours but ISY and NRs would be required.

I had some problems with Win 10 a year back. The icon would end up hid in the start menu root, the ISY sub-menu or my desktop at random.

Clear your java cache of all three options Then try the download again. The warning is a java cleanup message and shouldn't be related to this.

Just to play dirty... That line gets blurred with vocal activation gadgets. Although I don't have to touch anything, or get anything out of my pocket, it is still just "advanced" remote control, and not any form of automation. Alexa! Turn on the sunset lights! becomes pretty convenient, although as a fellow HA purist, I feel so violated!

Thanks guys! I know in previous times if UPnP was shut off things stop working and some will complain about it. This sounds more like a router deficiency that was fixed a few years ago in later router versions.

I thought UPnP would not transmit through a router to the outside world through any router???

I had the "No such device as XXX" last night, after it turned the program activating the scenes, NRs, and NodeLink devices on, happen again. The Alexa command was successful but reported device name failure.

Careful with the 2441TH. I have have two 2441ZTH stats and the newer version (V.35) has never been controllable from ISY since purchase three years ago. I can change setpoints and modes and ISY shows them all fine until any query. They have never changed. It works as a probe though. The older version 2441ZTH works fine except for ISY setpoint command line up/down always fails but never reports it. Get a real stat where the electronics heat doesn't throw the calibration off, between comm transmissions.

Java is independent of your browser. A browser is not required to run code in java. Browsers are dropping java plug-ins. Java is not java script that the Internet lives on.

I prefer to do everything via State Variables for triggers. That way your ISY programs still have last say whether the program can run or not. The variables are easier to set up in a Rest I/F call.

Thanks asbril! Strangely enough I just finished adding a program to my Alexa, and GHs. I still get the failure message above but nothing is required for GH to add the new pseudodevice. It just works now after adding it to the ISY portal without any interaction with GH??? Just for interest sake: The program I just created controls an RGBWW strip wrapped around the headboard of my bed. I called it "Sunset Headboard" for GH. (I only have a GH mini in the bedroom) The RGBWW strips come on 100% white and 100% RGB = yellow. After Wait 5 minute loops, decreasing the white level to 0%, by 10% each iteration, then the Yellow lights are decreased by 20% every 20 seconds and the colour is increased by one so that the colour fades from yellow to deep red as the level fades to 0%. This gives a more linear spaced light level dimming = 100%, 90%, 81%, 72%, 64%, 57%, 51%, 45%, 40%, 36%, 32%, 28%, 25%, 22%, 19%, 17%, 15%, 13%, 11%, 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, 5%, 4%, 3%, 2%, 1%, Off. I'll try it tonight to see how the circadian rhythm effect works.

Did you use the download to Google command first? This process has changed since I started with GH, and I finally gave up on mine, but the icon to download your device definitions to google is on your ISY Portal screen shot.

UDI has only implemented what the SH devices offer. It was felt by SH that the All-On command incorporated in devices was related to the random "All-On" ghost phenomenum. Eliminating the command in the devices would cure the problem. Newer versions of Insteon devices probably do not support the "All-On" command. A scene of the same style can be created in ISY quite easily by it's drag and drop method.

This sounds a bit confused. Echo is an amazon vocal input device. Google Home and GH Mini are google vocal input devices. The two don't interact or depend on each other. The ISY Portal is required for either or both of the above devices. This is an online server that has access to your ISY and your Google or amazon account and translates voice requests to ISY controls.

Like rcoleman posted and it works to resolve the disagreements that can happen between editors. To avoid tribunal and all the nasty policing that happens on the wikipedia free for all, a dictator needs to be in charge of each article. Your new assignment, should you choose to accept it, would be to control the outcome of each article to your satisfaction and terminate any detrimental factors to our great ISY nation. This message will not destroy itself in 5 seconds. Look beside the 'article' tab on any page in the wiki. Best of luck. I spent a few years editing about 20k articles on wikipedia and spent half my time in tribunals defending myself or getting rid of rule breakers. Then somebody with better BS comes along and I'm gone too. A manager / dictator is needed to avoid that overhead that wikipedia with its self-management popularity contests. I suggest a select few or just yourself be in charge of text insertion and many (or all) can post in talk pages for suggestions and/or complete text globs that can be cut and pasted as desired. ADDENDUM: Oh the ISY wiki calls it a "Discussion" tab.
