  1. Yes. The Network Module will do it all. That is what I primarily use for MiLight, Hue, LEDenet bulbs and strips (MagicHome is the same company or protocol AFAICT). I use NodeLink on a RPI 3 to control and access my ecobee and Venstar stats but this takes another box. ISY is the most expandable piece of hardware I have ever experienced. You can even have notification write to the ISY itself to keep a database of happenings with a technique developed and posted right in this forum. Spreadsheet compatible data too. The Network Module will allow you to send almost anything ever created over Ethernet, in any protocol. I can control my receiver, TV, media PC via the Netwok Module. That means that Alexa and GHome can control them via my voice too, if the logic in ISY I have programmed allows them to. It can grow with you as you discover new things. Polyglot is up and coming although I have experimented with it, it had nothing I needed to my advantage yet. Many users are developing drop-in modules for. If you are an experienced linear programmer the ISY even based language may throw you a curve for a while but you will get on to that soon. It has it's quirks but is very powerful. ISY is a very open box that never stops surprising most people. Help is here and most are more than willing to fight over your affection.
  2. Welcome to the forum!!! Sounds almost exactly what I have done with my ISY. I operate Hue bulbs of a few types, MiLight controllers (RBGWW strips) MiLight bulbs, Insteon SwitchLinc banks of LED lights, and LEDenet RGBWW strips from my ISY, all controlled by Dots, Echoes, Google Home Minis, and one central SwitchLinc. ISY makes this all possible. Colours are mostly controlled by voice. Whites are controlled by voice and SwitchLinc. No devices are controlled via the Alexa App modules. Everything is controlled via ISY as a decision making clearing house. ISY decides what festive theme colours are used if I ask for it. Alexa. Turn on festive lights gets Halloween, Christmas, Party, Movie, etc. themes based on time of year. Alexa. Turn On sunset lights gets autumn colours with an hour fade of the white lights only, to Off, leaving only reds-yellows and warm wite lighting.
  3. I don't see the need to have a remote unlock for my doors at all. I have a proximity dongle in my pocket for my cars and Schlage combo locks on my doors. A simple 4 key combo releases the automatic dead bolt. I don't carry any keys at all and I have no automatic door lock releases. However, I always make sure I have a backup plan in case my main entrance door battery dies. If I need to allow somebody to pass through my locked doors I can give them the combination and then change it later or set up a one-time usage combo that disappears after one usage. 4. In the admin console pull down the File menu and select Themes, and then Font size. Select a font size and then close and reopen the admin console
  5. Your experience is similar to mine. Google is so intent on artificial intelligence simulation that it makes too many guesses at what you actually mean, it is undependable for home automation. Google changes their security frequently and causes disruptions in user convenience. GH is much better for online information, whereas Alexa is better for HA. So far. We have been finding GH plays games well. Try 'play trivia' Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  6. Not personally but some reported good experiences with the wired in Insteon module style devices installed behind outdoor rated MSes inside the octagon boxes.
  7. Try an FM and/or AM radio tuned "off station" close to the suspected devices and wiring. Noisy signals on wiring can completely blank reception under certain conditions..
  8. My preference would be to use multiple time line triggers with a random time element. No looping is needed. Add more lines to the If section to simulate real life little better. Your repeats will be disabled at the end of the time frame and may leave lights on at 11:59. In your program, the Else is needed. Fake home - [ID 0012][Parent 0001] If Time is Sunset + 5 hours Or On Sat, Mon, Wed Time is Sunset + 1 hour Or On Sun, Tue, Thu, Fri Time is Sunset + 2 hours Then Wait 2 hours (Random) Run Program 'Fake TV and Bed' (If) Else - No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')
  9. Oh I agree with the concept as much of a PITA it could be. The ISY Portal "seems to be "out in the open" for an easier hit. "Curious, I saw today Samsung's IoT hub was hit." I was looking for an article link with more detail about the OP opening sentence regarding the case, not expecting more FUD to sell another new google gadget.
  10. I'm at the 44th and I still can't get one. (I don't think it's your attitude accent altitude azimuth orientation parallel )
  11. Using v5.0.13a I have also found the "OK" with no result getting quite frequent now. Last night I had three "OK"s in a row with nothing happenned. The target was a program in ISY that operates many different styles of devices inclusing an Insteon scene. None operated until the fourth time reeating the same command. Each time a different Dot device responded, strangely enough. This has been happenning for several months and also appears to be getting worse with time along with the "Device does not exist"
  12. All sounds like more product sales FUD. (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) Anybody ever hear of a system actually being hacked? Link? We heard of one ISY being hacked here, a few years back with grafity written into device names but no foul play of operation on their devices. Of course this probably meant the attacker was also using the admin console to effect it.
  13. We've all been there with things from the past and forgotten. I remember one girlfriend from the old...... I guess I should start a new thread?
  14. Insteon quirk with KPLs. KPL button LEDs can only be set on and off via scenes with that particular LED included. Then control the scene directly from another Insteon device, or via ISY programme. The whole bank of LED's levels can only be controlled via programs I believe you may have misinterpreted lilyoyo1's comment, above.
  15. I get a lot of that too, Alexa saying XXX is not responding, but performs the function anyway. AFAICT this started with the last ISY Portal shutdown for maintenance, about a month ago. Before that time, it happened about once every few months. Now it happens every few days. ISY v5.0.13a
  16. Have you tried to use Restore on the offending devices? You may have scene links still existing between your devices that ISY doesn't know about. Factory reset and then Restore each device may be a more precise option to use.

    PLM Failure

No. It relies on a Zwave modem that is a plug-in Zwave board for inside ISY.
  18. In the admin console you can watch the Program Tree o see if the avatars are changing colours. if you find one then right click it and select stop. Fix the program. You can select the program summary tab and click on the last run title, sorting your programs by that field. Look at the top few and for one constantly updating it's time
  19. Make sure you check all the boxes when you clear your java cache so that any applets get deleted also Sent from my SM-G930W8 using Tapatalk
  20. Changing scene parameters takes quite some time via Insteon's back channel protocol techniques. Each device involved needs to re-write it's eprom for the link that is changed, after the complex message is transferred from ISY to the devices. Insteon devices were never meant for this kind of interaction. Scenes are supposed to be more permanent presets to avoid so much traffic, not on the fly settings. Add a "Wait 2 seconds" between each line and give the eprom time to be re-written by each device and respond to ISY before banging out more long protocol messages.
  21. I run about 44 degrees and still in Canucksville. You need to draw a new line in the sand.
  22. Where do you want the items?
  23. Awesome! Well done! The Canadian holidays dates have been based somebody's joke.
  24. I never see the resultant. I only use the value in prgrams and the format looks good there. :)
  25. https://www.universal-devices.com/residential/ @Michel KohanimI suspect a typo in this page listing the pricing structure backwards. "ISY Portal Module ($12.00 a year):Amazon Echo and IFTTT integration. Includes the Network Module Network Module ($49.00): host your own personal web site or 3rd party applications right on your ISY, control network-enabled devices through ISY programs (TCP/UDP/HTTP/HTTPS), turn on PCs using Wake On LAN
