Wink Blog WINK+AMAZON ECHO: JUST ASK TO CONTROL SMART PRODUCTS AROUND YOUR HOME JULY 08, 2015 IN NEWS Amazon lovers, you’re really going to like this one... Wink is now compatible with Amazon Echo! If you’re not familiar, Echo is a product completely designed around your voice. It’s always ready; as you say the wake word—“Alexa” or “Amazon” (most people select “Alexa”)—it springs to life. Alexa is the cloud-based voice service that powers Echo--you can ask for information, play music, get the weather, and much more. Starting today, Echo can also control a number of Wink-compatible lighting products from GE, Leviton, and Lutron. Here’s how to get started: Connect compatible products in your Wink app and set individual names for each lighting product (bedroom lamp, kitchen light, etc.). Then, link your Wink account to Echo within the Echo mobile app (Settings > Connected Home > Device Links > Wink). From there, say “Alexa, discover new devices.” This can take up to 20 seconds. After that, you’re all set up. You can then turn your smart products on or off in the blink of an eye with a simple voice command to Alexa. For example, you could say “Alexa, turn on the living room lamp ” or “Alexa, turn off the kitchen light.” This integration gives Wink users like you yet another touchpoint through which you can easily control your smart home. And we’re just getting started! We’re excited to work with Amazon to add additional functionalities and many more Wink-compatible products down the road. Want to learn more about Amazon Echo? What we need is voice recognition. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

They can be used to drive a high current mechanical relay that I mention before. That is the easiest and most reliable solution. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Use an Insteon micro switch to control this relay: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009PAPIOY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1435868021&sr=8-1&refinements=p_85%3A2470955011&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70&keywords=RIB2401B There are cheaper relays if you can do it all yourself, but you get the idea. And with the ISY and Insteon you can control the vacuum and compressor from any room. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Read this thread. If you have questions I'll be happy to answer. http://forum.universal-devices.com/index.php?/topic/16119-ISY-Not-Allowing-Correct-Load-Selection-on-2443-222&do=findComment&comment=139391 Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

To be on the safe side I would supply power to the vacuum and compressor with a 20 amp relay. Insteon can be used to turn the relay on and off. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

I have two MyQ units and just started looking at how they communicate. I'm not sure but I think these could be modified to work locally and when used with a node server, let the ISY have full control. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Once you understand the concept of triggers and programs it's easy. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

I think you have a misunderstanding of what program state means. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Change program 1 to only run program 2. Remove the then statements. Change program 2 to turn on lights, wait 15, then turn off lights. Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk

Hopefully soon, a method will be made available for the Echo to send direct to the ISY.

I have kids that don't understand there is an off position on light switches.

Hey, I'm a programmer. We use few words.
-
Of course. But how many times do you see a problem question asked and it turns out the problem was caused by a change and the question fails to note that change?
-
I understand but I had already discovered that the PLM had to be active and could have helped you. Now I hope others will read this and learn.
-
Wait, are you stating that you disconnected the PLM and then tried to add the device? If so, you never mentioned that you changed the system before you tried to add. A note to everyone; it's important to state all changes when you ask for help. If val had done so his issue would solved with one reply.

It's the way T-Mobile sends texts. How are you sending to T-Mobile?

I received my Echo this morning. It's super simple to set up. As for voice control, it is great. The main floor of my house is 2200 sq ft and I get great coverage. Now I need to get the ISY connected, then the Pebble Time. Neither should be to difficult. I'm extremely happy with the Echo. Gary
