I'm understand your frustration. I won't use battery-only devices because of the way they work. The Insteon motion sensor is a joke and at best it is poorly designed occupancy sensor.

My order now says June 16. I can only guess that demand is high and supply is low. Three months to deliver a product is a problem.

You won't get a heartbeat within the last 25 hours.

The only special I got was the $99 price.

I am still waiting on an update.

It seems the Insteon standard is to not keep products standardize. This is another area that the Node Server will be used.

The instructions also suggest not using a browser. Maybe it's time to remove the browser from the instructions.

I use the java applet. No browser involved.

Through the built web interface? Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not seeing any problems.

Why does anyone use Chrome or IE to access the ISY?

In the U.S. there is no such separation. That's why Apple is able to screw up so much.

I have a similar problem. My kids can open but cannot close. Doors, windows, blinds, curtains etc.

I like Insteon except battery powered devices. I wish SmartHome made module that operated at 5 to 12 vac that I could add to my own devices. That would solve a lot of my issues.

Mine unlocks when you open the door and locks when the door is closed. There is a manual release on the lock as well as the door opener. Both can be operated from the same location. The main controller has a button to disable remote operation of the door and lock. With a little DIY this could be made even more secure.

The LiftMaster opener I linked to has this built in and it doesn't cost $500. That's one reason why I chose that model.

I've been really happy since I found the ISY. It has made control much better. My system is more for control than automation though I do several items automated. Gary
