Sure. Write a program that turns off the lights 10 min. after it's executed. There is no need to provide conditions. If (nothing) Then Set (device) On Else Wait 10 min Set (device) Off If the name of the program is 'porch' then, "Alexa, turn porch on" will run Then and "Alexa, turn porch off" will run Else.

Outline of how Echo works - Help appreciated
stusviews replied to apostolakisl's topic in Amazon Echo
The Amazon Echo is not responsible for your home automation. It's an enhancement to the control you already have. -
If you tell Alexa to ask Izzy to perform a task, the return message describes the task performed.
-
That was probably on a CD. DVDs are more costly.
-
A lot of software, if not downloaded, is on DVD.

I just now added a new scene. Alexa, once again, reported that no devices were found, but the count increased by 1 and the scene is in the list. Edit: Thanks, I've been meaning to add that scene
-
Nope. Working here. Sometimes Echo reports no devices found, but finds them anyway. Did you search for the new device/scene/program? BTW, I usually use the device count as an indicator.
-
Glad you got it working. Do you have a link to those entries?

Did you set up an account? user? http://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/18015-amazon-echo-isy-step-by-step/

Can you voice control the zones?
-
Correct, the Status "Air Conditioner' is Mode Cool condition should not be added to Program 2.
-
And its relevance to something in the topic is?
-
Nope, the program sets the mode to off only if the door is left open beyond the duration specified.

IMveryHO, if the Echo started with a chime, there'd be a rebellion if was changed to OK. Change is difficult. I don't know what's coming next, but I can hardly wait

A quote without a source is as valid as vapor. Snowden's sniffing seeking secured snooping enabled eavesdropping exposure.
-
Clearly citing a questionable quote.

Easy fix. If Status 'Doors and Windows / Door-Sliding' is On and Status 'Air Conditioner' is Mode Cool Then Wait 5 minutes Run 'program 2' (If) Program 2 If Status 'Doors and Windows / Door-Sliding' is On and Status "Air Conditioner' is Mode Cool Then Set 'Air Conditioner' Mode - Off Else Set 'Air Conditioner' Mode - Cool

According to the NY Times, the Echo is G.O.M. (Good Old Money)!

The KPL will still be reported as a 5-button KPL, but should have 8 nodes. When you reset the KPL, did you have 8 individual button LED (e.g., the top two and bottom two behaved individually)? Which drop down menu allowed you to select 8-button?

1. The portal is required. The portal is a separate form UDI service. The portal also allow a secure connection from anywhere. Port forwarding won't do it. 2. See 1. 3. Echo is a one room device, but you can add as many as you want. 4. You have to assign a "spoken" name for each device, scene and/or program that you want Echo to control. 5. The portal will find your devices and scenes when first installed. After that, you need to manually add or delete devices and/or scenes. Programs have to be added manually, but there's a drop down menu for each of devices, scenes and programs. -
There is no adjustment for the LED brightness. I use Light Dims.

Good idea
