  1. My concern is I don't know how an Insteon switch with a load can "power up and down" without the load turning on if you mean that the LEDs on the device lit up and down.
  2. Are you controlling the device or a scene? Is there a load connected to the 'switch' that you are controlling?
  3. The ISY can't turn on the TV and lower the shades unless you create a program (Activity in Harmony terms) that does both. In fact, there's no way to do anything with voice control and the ISY and the Echo unless you create lots and lots of scenes and programs (one for each activity). I do agree that the skill needs improvement, for example, there's no command for the volume, play and pause, but this is only the first release. BTW, I found Harmony support to be very helpful, but that's just my experience.
  4. The On Level Volts appears to be set to half the maximum which would explain the 50% that your getting. Have you tried changing the On Level Volts to the maximum?
  5. What are you using to control the ballast?
  6. Resetting Your UserID/Password
  7. Factory reset. You'll have to recreate all your scenes and programs unless you have a backup.
  8. It's unlikely that the ISY is causing a problem unless you have the same Insteon devices added to the Hub and the ISY, but have set up non-identical scenes for any of the devices. In any case, you can simply unplug the PLM which effectively places the ISY offline.

    New Dot

My usual method is to request a call back. My phone rings almost immediately and I've never had to wait more than a minute for a live person. I will say that Amazon's customer service is equal to that of UDI.

I ran into exactly that difficulty way back when the Echo was new and, as usual, I experimented. Amazon support fixed the problem on the spot. The 180 day waiting period was immediately waived.

My echos resounds, but is has no sound of its own.

    New Dot

My somewhat lengthy post applies to Echos/Dot only. It's totally unrelated to mobile devices.

    New Dot

I have one portal and four Amazon accounts. Each Amazon account is separately assigned to the portal (as sub-accounts, but there's really no difference between a main account and a sub-account except that the main account is the first one created). Each Echo and/or Dot is registered to one of the Amazon accounts and, consequently, the same portal account. When I log into Alexa I need to specify which account I want to log into. When I log into the portal I need to specify which account I want to log into. Each of the four accounts is individual and separate. I have one ISY that includes all devices, scenes and programs. After logging into a portal account, I select the device, scenes and programs that I want controlled by the Echos/Dots registered to that one and the same Amazon account. For example, I have a bedroom account. I log into that portal account and add what I want controlled from the bedroom (including anything in the house, not just the bedroom). Then I log into the Alexa bedroom account and discover devices. I do the same for my living room account and the other two accounts. A benefit is that I only need to as Alexa to turn on the light and the light in that (account) room turns on. I don't need to specify which light unless it's a light in a different room. ESP works only for Echos/Dots in the same account. If another Echo/Dot on a different account is within earshot, both will respond. I avoid that problem by giving Echos/Dots on different accounts that may hear the same command concurrently different wake words.
  14. Since it's a relay, the I/O linc can't behave like a dimmer. Zero (0) works for the I/O Linc relay exactly the way zero (0) works for any Insteon relay, it means Off.
  15. I'm not sure what you want to accomplish by setting the relay to 0 (zero, off). The relay affects only what's connected to the I/O Linc's contacts (NC, NO and C). The relay does not send any Insteon signals although it can respond to such.
  16. Each of my accounts is for a different room. I just use "light" in each of these rooms (i.e, "Alexa, turn the light on."). Each room also has "dim light" and "bright light."

Let's do the mathematics. Buy five (5), get one free. The price for five is 5 x 49.99 = 249.95. But, you really get six (6). So, the cost for each is 249.95 ÷ 6 = 41.65 each. Want six (6), pay for five (5). So, you get six (6) for the price of five (5). The price for five is 5 x 49.99 = 249.95. But, you really get six (6). So, the cost for each is 249.95 ÷ 6 = 41.65 each. So do you want six of one or half a dozen of the other

Unless one wanted 5 or 6. The on-line deal included one free with the purchase of five. Want 5, get one free; want 6, pay for 5
  19. Thanks. Up and running. Well, at least I can turn thing on and off. Somewhat annoying that I have to disable the skill to make changes and then re-enable the skill again to effect those changes

    New Dot

ESP is independent of the Gen 2 Dot. I started using ESP a week or so before the Gen 2 Dot was available. I do notice that, on occasion, two Dots within about 6' of each other will respond consecutively. But, this is the first release of ESP. It'll probably improve.
  21. That's correct.
  22. I have bunches of spokens that end with "light." Not a problem.
  23. You can use the same portal, but if you want to use the same spoken (e.g., "turn on the light," in different rooms/locations) then you need an account for each room/location. I currently use four accounts with one portal. Five accounts is the maximum, BTW.
  24. WiFi is an entirely different band than Insteon RF. No chance of interference from the EnGenius Router.
  25. That's not unusual. I repeat the command, enunciating very clearly the second time around. Sometimes, placing the verb before the spoken helps, for example, "turn off the office lights." BTW, are you controlling only programs?
