  1. Think of the thermostats as Main and Basement that have no relationships to each other except those you create, not as Master and Remote. Then, test your programs using current conditions. Try at least a condition that's true. then change the condition in the program (because you can't easily change the air) to false. Did you get your desired result(s)?
  2. I have a tabletop enclosure with a KPL less than an arm's reach from wherever I may sit or sleep. Since adding Echos (3) and Dots (9), the KPLs are nearly unused. A few more button to convert. Even the in-wall KPLs and SwitchLincs are rarely touched now.
  3. Procrastination pays if you act on it immediately
  4. Don't forget to add "next day" to the first time condition or it will never be true
  5. Info only: Insteon devices do not 'hold' scenes, they contain links. Most are capable of more that 400 links.
  6. A 2477D will bypass the issue. It will not correct it. If the interfering device is particularly errant, then you may still experience some difficulty. The best solution is to find the problem device. BTW, what's the load on the ToggleLinc?
  7. A single tap will take the MS out of linking (or unlinking) mode.
  8. The 2466 is power line only. I'd look for something on that specific circuit that may be interfering with power line communication. suspected devices include anything electronic (TVs, computers, UPSs) and wall warts. Disconnect or unplug all such devices (simply turning them off is inadequate, they must be disconnected of unplugged) to determine if communication improves. If you find an offending device, then filter it.

    KPL Status

The ApplianceLinc is a responder only. A workaround is to use a program. Only Status is available, not Control (because the device is not a controller).
  10. All outlets have (at least) two wires. If one of the duplex receptacles is switch controlled, then there will be a third wire.
  11. I'm currently using a 2242, 2243 and 2245 with the ISY. It can be done it you pay attention to what you're doing.
  12. In any case, only a serial PLM will do.
  13. If the scene is in a folder, then remove it from the folder first (right click).
  14. Why do you suspect that the sensor is involved? Does the red LED on the MS light up when you make changes? Remove the battery from the MS (the ISY will report that it can't communicate with the MS, ignore that). Make some changes. Are the change faster?
  15. Try a different program name, although that shouldn't matter. And/or name a device Donkey, add it to the portal and discover.
  16. All of the programs I wrote exclusively for the Echo have no IF, so that's not a problem. Try using a different "spoken" for the program. You don't need to change the program name, only the 'spoken." In fact, you can experiment with up to five different "spokens'" at a time. Don't forget to re-discover after each change
  17. That's the Amazon current price. Dots are also marked down $10 at Amazon.
  18. Did you remember to discover devices after adding the program to the portal? What's the result if you run THEN (right click on the program name)? Alexa won't respond to "program" or "Izzy" unless you enable the ISY skill (not the same as ISY Optimized for Smart Home V2).
  19. Use an OR statement. If any one or more lights are on, then send an off the all the lights.
  20. There may be something you didn't think of on the same circuit at the errant device. A phone charger, an electronic device? Turn off that circuit to determine what else loses power. Edit: Upgrades do not resolve issues. In fact, it's always better to resolve any issue prior to upgrading.
  21. What is the transformer? Some device still have power when they're off and must be unplugged or disconnected.
  22. Each time you apply power to the camera, it will perform a POST (power on self test). There's no way to prevent that. Is there a problem with leaving the cameras power up 24/7?
  23. You home has exactly two opposite legs provided by a split, single-phase electric supply. I can virtually guarantee that your wiring is not weird
  24. If you PLM is close to or beyond two years old, then it's time for a replacement.
  25. You may want to try restoring the modem again first. From LeeG: Unplug the PLM for 30 seconds. Disconnect cable going to the ISY. Press and hold Set button on PLM BEFORE plugging it in. Hold Set button for 10 seconds after plugging it in. Reconnect cable to ISY. Do a Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Links Table to confirm PLM configuration reset.
