  1. A goal appears to be immediate notification. A second goal is duration of the notification. A dilemma is that neither Insteon devices nor scenes can respond to On without also responding to Off. A possible solution: Use one or more Mini Strobes controlled by an I/O Linc (plus device) and also a program that responds to On only to control other devices. I have several. They're quite an attention getter. Sometimes eBay has a better price.
  2. Nope, Scenes are immediate, programs have a delay.
  3. If you use the ISY or any other Insteon manager to send a direct command to a device, the only that specific device responds. None of the linked devices recognize that command. To do otherwise can result in an infinite loop. If more than one device is involved, then the correct procedure is to control the scene, not the device.
  4. I've never gotten open or close to work with programs, although open and close work with devices and scenes.
  5. That's because the Echo does not manually turn on the button. If you want the condition to respond to the state of the button, then use Status instead of Control.
  6. There may be three wires going to the switch, line and one for each light. Same advice, connect all three together. Post back if you find something different.
  7. Try placing the On/Off sometimes first and sometimes last. After awhile, the app will learn. After all, the intelligence is artificial
  8. What is the result if you ask Alexa to, "turn living room lamp 2 OFF?" Another trick is to write "livingroom" as one word.
  9. How are you invoking the program using the Echo? Are you using the Izzy skill?
  10. You may want to completely bypass the light switch, especially if it's intermittent.
  11. Pseudo modules with X10 house/units codes are subject to be turned on and/or off by line noise and even neighbors with X10. Insteon devices are more impervious to line noise produced by modern electronic devices than the older technology was.
  12. My Honeywell voice thermostat responds to, "I need cool really bad or I need just a little cool"
  13. Disconnect both the orange and yellow wires. Connect the orange wire to Y1, set the thermostat to cool. What's the result?
  14. Yes, in fact, you can replace a 6-button KPL with an 8-button KPL. You can also change the mode of a 6-button KPL to 8 buttons.
  15. You also need the skill to run the conditions of a program.
  16. Your wiring shows that you have a "user interface." Do you know what that is?
  17. What is the result after connecting only red to 24R and brown to 24COM?
  18. Connecting wire randomly (assuming) may cause damage to your system. At this point, the Insteon thermostat is probably unlit. Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate an installation manual for your thermostat, but some wiring is clear, some is not. It's possible that you many not be able to use the Insteon thermostat. 1. RB has a jumper to D1. D1 is a dry contact relay for a humidifier. Do you have one. Also, are you sure the terminal reads RB and not RH or RC? If so, then the red wire should connect to 24R. 2. The brown wire should connect to 24COM. With nothing else connected the thermostat should be lit. If not, post back. 3. You indicated that yellow originally connected to Y1/W2. That doesn't make sense, Y is for cooling, W is for heat. 4. OAT and STRN are for an external temperature sensor. The Insteon thermostat does not accommodate an external sensor. 5. Do you have 1 or 2 heating stages? 1 or 2 cooling stages? 6. Do you have auxiliary heat?
  19. If you already paid for the Network Module separately, then it's your to keep.
  20. Set Scene 'LR Lamp' On
  21. Are both switches in the same switch box? If so, then the fix is easy. If not, then then wiring them them to different loads is not possible. But, that can be overcome with a couple of Micro Modules.
  22. Mutually exclusive buttons is when you want only one of two or more button the be lit at the same time. If that's what you want, then you can also do that with the same scenes you created. Just add the buttons you want unlit to each respective scene with an On-level of 0%.
  23. If you mean that you want a 3-way configuration, then yes, you can do that. If you mean that you want to switch the loads, then no, that's not possible.
  24. Updating the ISY firmware and UI are separate processes. The UI is not automatically installed, it must be manually updated. Follow the step 4 instructions.
  25. If your firmware and UI are not identical, then you may get unanticipated results.
